Research on the Status and Needs of Career Counseling based on the Student's Perception of Specialized Vocational High School in Daejeon (대전광역시 특성화고 학생들의 인식에 터한 진로 상담 운영 실태와 요구조사)

  • This study investigated the current status and needs of career counseling based on the student's perception of specialized vocational high school in Daejeon. The main purpose of this study is to provide the future direction and improvement strategies of career counseling in specialized vocational high school through the evaluation of current situation and student's needs. The analysis results of this study are as follows. First, most of students decided their admission into a specialized vocational high school when they were three grades in middle school. It indicates that career counseling teacher plays important roles during that time. Thus, it is necessary to strengthen the ability of career counseling teachers and to develop the various programs to seek student's aptitude and talent from the period of middle school. Second, since most of career counseling takes place primarily with class teacher, professional counseling education for class teachers is required. It also needs to expand the specialized counselors to reduce the overburden of class teachers and develop various counseling programs. Third, vocational high school students need the specialized counseling programs according to their major. Effective group counseling programs as well as one-on-one counseling programs which can help the student's career decision should be developed.

The Mediating Effects of Peer Relations in the Relationship between Parenting Behavior and Career Maturity for Adolescents (부모의 양육행동이 청소년의 진로성숙도에 미치는 영향: 또래관계의 매개효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effects of peer relations on the relationship between parenting behaviors and career maturity among adolescents. Data was collected from 425 middle school students who reside in Seoul by self-reported questionnaires. The method used for data analysis was structural equation modeling analysis using Amos. The results of this study revealed that parenting behaviors affected peer relations of adolescents. Peer relations influenced career maturity of adolescents. The structural equation modeling analysis indicated that peer relations mediated the relationship between parenting behaviors and career maturity.

Redesigning of STEAM Learning/Teaching Program for Robot (로봇 STEAM 교수학습 프로그램 제안)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze STEAM learning/teaching program that relates robots and to develop and redesign STEAM teaching/learning program with a robot for elementary and secondary schools. 'Learning with a robot' is considered as one of the best candidates for STEAM education. This article mainly concerns a robot that can be helpful to improve students' interests in learning science and mathematics in schools. As the results of the STEAM learning/teaching program analyzing, the program for elementary schools contained more contents of liberal arts and fine arts, and the program for secondary schools contained more contents of science, technology, and math. In the middle school program, context for learning, class activities of creative design and emotional touch, evaluation, and job and career information were evenly implemented. In the elementary and high school program, there were few information about robotics career. We extracted all robot utilizable subjects and units from school curriculums, and redesigned contents which can be applicable to regular classes for schools. As the result of this study, we conclude that 'learning with a robot' can encourage students' interests in STEM area.

Analysis of the Educational Needs of Secondary Career Teachers for the Fourth Industrial Revolution Era (4차 산업혁명 시대를 대비한 중등진로전담교사들의 교육요구도 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the recognition of the professionalism required for strengthening the effective career guidance capacity of the secondary career teachers who are required to prepare for the coming fourth industrial revolution era. Based on these research objectives, we derived the required roles(8), the required competencies(20), and the contents(23) for enhancing professionalism by the required competencies, based on this, the questionnaire was composed and 217 respondents were collected and analyzed. First, the t-test was conducted to confirm the statistically significant difference between the current level and the important level of each content item by each role. As a result, it was found that in all roles except role of 'administrator' The t-value is statistically significant and the t-value distribution is high. Second, the demand value calculation and the priority ranking using the Borich demand calculation formula were found, and as a result, the directionality between the t value and the Borich demand was in agreement. Third, as a result of prioritizing using the Locus for Focus model, the contents of all 5 (middle school 7, high school 2) education contents were given priority. Fourth, three middle schools and five high schools were derived from the subordinate. Finally, we confirmed the relevance of the contents of education to actual educational necessity. Although this study has many limitations and limitations due to the fact that there are few prior data due to the segmentation of the subject related to the 4th Industrial Revolution and career guidance, it is necessary to develop educational training program I hope to be able to use it as basic data of various follow-up studies and make some suggestions.

Analysis of Students' Job Basic Competencies and Career Reading Status of the College of Liberal Arts: Focused on "A University" (문과대학 학생들의 직업기초역량과 진로독서 실태 분석 -A 대학을 중심으로 -)

  • This study identified problems in reading for future careers and suggests approaches to solve the identified problems by analyzing the fundamental vocational competence and reading for a future career. The study included 457 students in the liberal arts college (humanities and education programs) at "A" university. In accordance with the analysis, communication ability (average 3.61), interpersonal relation ability (3.59), literacy (3.40) and problem solving ability (3.39) were relatively high in fundamental vocational competence, while numeracy (2.72) and entrepreneurship (2.89) were low. Next, 65.2% of those reported no reading for their future career. 46.3% answered 'no time to read books related to my future career.' 25.8% selected 'no books worth reading related to my future career.' 22.5% said 'no curiosity about my future career.' Considering that those who did not read any materials related to a future career reached 65.2% and a number of students had low fundamental vocational competence, this paper suggested the implementation of a systematic educational program for standardizing and strengthening fundamental vocational competence and enhancing understanding of future careers.

A Structural Analysis of Relations among Inner and Outer Career Barrier, Career Decision Making Self-Efficacy, Career Aspiration and Career Decision Status for College Student (대학생의 내·외적 진로장벽, 진로결정 자기효능감, 진로포부, 진로결정수준 간의 구조적 관계 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze a structural relations which occur when college students' inner and outer career barrier impacts on career decision status through the mediating variables of career decision making self-efficacy and career aspiration. The data of 787 college students subjects were collected for the study. The measuring tools were Career Decision Status, Outer Career Barriers, Inner Career Barriers, Career Aspiration, and Career Decision Making Self-Efficacy. The collected data were analyzed with structural equation modeling(SEM). The findings of the study were as follows. Results showed that only inner career barriers affect career decision status through the mediating variables of career decision making self-efficacy and career aspiration among outer and inner career barriers anticipated to give negative impact on level of career decision making. Inner career barriers affect career decision making self-efficacy negatively, and career decision making self-efficacy gives positive impact on career aspiration, and career aspiration affects career decision status negatively. In other words, the more aware of inner career barriers, the lower career decision making self-efficacy.

Effects of Career Education Program in Science & Engineering Fields to Career Outcome Expectation, Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy and Grit for Science Gifted High School Students (이공계 진로교육 프로그램이 과학영재 고등학생의 진로결정자기효능감, 진로결과기대, 그릿에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop and apply of career education program in science and engineering fields for science gifted high school students. To do this, the career education program was developed and applied to science gifted high school students 129 in H-science gifted high school with K-institute. The results are followings. First, after participating in the career education program, the career decision making self-efficacy of students were increased significantly. Second, it has been increased that external factor of career outcome expectation and continuation effort of grit. In this study, it has showed educational effects of the career education programs that related to career recognition in science and engineering fields for science gifted high school students by developing and applying of program. Based on these results, it is necessary to recognize the importance of customized career education programs for science gifted high school students.

  • 기업가정신이 기업의 혁신 및 국가 경제발전에 중요한 역할을 한다는 인식이 높아지면서 기업가정신교육도 전 세계적으로 확산되고 있는 추세이다(Katz, 2003; Kurako, 2005). 한국 정부는 '창의인재양성'이라는 교육정책 목표로 기업가정신교육 예산이 증가시키고 있으며, 교육 대상자도 대학생 및 성인 대상을 중심에서 중 고등학생으로까지 확장하고 있는 실정이다. 기업가정신교육은 창업가적 스킬을 발전시키고 진로선택에 있어서 도움을 주는 것을 목적으로 하고 있으나(Linan, 2004), 다수의 기관에서는 저마다의 기업가정신에 대한 정의 및 운영방식을 적용되고 있는 것이 현실이다. 일반적으로 대학수준의 프로그램에서는 교육의 효과성을 창업의도(Entrepreneurial Intention)로 측정하고 있지만, 사회에 진출하기에 이른 시기인 청소년에게 그 지표를 그대로 적용하는 것은 적절하지 않다는 비판이 제기되고 있다. 이에 따라, 본 연구에서는 한국에서 운영되고 있는 대표적인 2개의 청소년 기업가정신교육기관의 커리큘럼을 분석하여 청소년에게 적합한 효과성 지표를 제시하고, 두 프로그램의 효과성 결과를 비교분석하여 향후 청소년 기업가정신교육의 발전방안에 대해 제시하였다.

Research on the change of consciousness of the gifted students in science (과학 영재의 진로의식 변화 연구(1996년 - 2003년))

  • The purpose of this study is to look into Various educational supports for the gifted students in science to decide proper career planning through Research of Career Consciousness of the Gifted Students in Science. The subject of this study is new students entered into KAIST from the year of 1996 to 2003. They are approximately 500 students yearly and 3,613 totally and more than 90% of students have answered. The Questions are largely 3 items. One is 5 Q's of entering universities, second is 2 Q's of life plans in the university and the last is 2 Q's of career plans after graduation. As a result, the gifted students in science tend to find out and develop their interest and aptitude early and decide their future much earlier than other students. Nevertheless the gifted students in science worry about their future a lot as well. However they ask their problems to friends, seniors, and parents rather than teachers, professional consultants in general it could say no sufficient systematic guidance and consulting available for them. So it does require that some subjects such as guidance for career planning should be included in university curriculum and furthermore not only schooling but also the systematic structure of persistent consulting about gifted student's general life should be planned as well.

  • 한국 사회는 빠르게 다문화 사회로 진입되고 있어 인구 구성과 집단이 다양해 질것으로 전망하고 있다. 다양한 형태의 가족 중 중도입국 청소년들의 비율이 점점 증가하고 있다. 대부분의 중도입국 청소년들은 준비가 전혀 이루어진 않은 상태에서 우리나라에 입국하는 실정이므로 언어장벽에서 진로장벽에 이르기 까지 매우 취약한 여건과 불안정한 환경에 처해 있는 것이다. 이를 해결하는 방안으로 국가나 지방자치단체는 물론 각급 교육기관에서 다양한 프로그램으로 서비스가 지원되고 있으나 사업 간의 중복성과 일부 비효율적인 전달체계와 운영, 예산과 인력 낭비로 인하여 효과성을 낮추는 경향이 있다. 본 논문에서는 중도입국 청소년들의 발달주기, 학령주기, 한국어 구사 능력에 따라 개인의 능력에 따른 맞춤형 언어교육으로 올바르게 성장하도록 도움을 주는 방안을 제시한다. 제시한 내용은 이중언어 교육방법과 발도르프 교육 프로그램을 준용한 교수-학습 방안이다.
