A survey was conducted on 215 full-time workers along with self-compassion scales, life satisfaction scales, social well-being and core self-evaluation. As a result of the study, social well-being and core self-evaluation completely mediated the relationship between self-compassion and life satisfaction, and the difference of indirect effects between social well-being and core self-evaluation was not significant. These results show that the effect of self-compassion improving life satisfaction can be explained through social well-being and core self-evaluation. On the other hand, workplace satisfaction, job satisfaction, and self-efficacy level were the lowest in fortune attribution, indicating that fortune attribution has a negative effect on the on the occupational adaptation. Second, as in the mediating effect of the relationship between attribution of career success and occupational adaptation by Sobel-test, it was found that there was a mediating effect of self-efficacy. The results of this study shows that the more new employees perceive their career success to depend on their own efforts, the more they believe they can successfully accomplish their duties, and can adapt with more effort and patience in the face of stress. These results imply that it is possible to increase occupational adaptation by providing intrinsic and extrinsic rewards for new employees to have an effort attribution to career success.

As research subjects, 106 smokers at C company who participated in the campaign of "No Second-Hand Smoking and No Cigarette Smoke at Work" from April 25, 2011 to December, 2011 for 8 months were enrolled in this study. Apreliminary survey of the general characteristics, motivation to quit smoking, emotional condition, behavior to cope with stress, stress in life, hope, and the emotional variables of job satisfaction in the research subjects was carried out. The study undertook a pre-and-post effect analysis of the non-smoking program only with those who succeeded in quitting smoking. In terms of the general characteristics of the subjects, the success rate of quitting smoking was higher in those in their thirties and above and those who were married. No significant difference in the emotional variables was observed between those who were not successful and those who were. These results suggest that the motives for stopping smoking and effective dealing with stress or anxiety is important for male office workers to succeed in stopping smoking, based on which smoking cessation programs should be developed. In addition, the message of a smoking cessation campaign should be designed specifically for each target audience, effectively emphasizing the emotional aspects of each target group.

The results were as follows: There were no significant differences in stress symptoms and coping among primary, junior and senior high school teachers. On the other hand, there were significant differences in stress symptoms and coping between male and female teachers. Female teachers experienced more stress symptoms than male teachers. At the same time female teachers coped more efficiently in stress situation than male teachers. With emotional support, self-efficacy, job-performance and job-satisfaction as independent variables, the result of multiple regression showed that job-satisfaction has a negative influence on stress symptoms. Positive influences on stress coping was found for resiliency of self-efficacy in case of male teachers, and in case of female teachers resiliency of self-efficacy, emotional support from colleague, job-performance, and emotional support from family. Therefore, regardless of the gender of the teachers, high job-satisfaction decreased stress symptoms and high resiliency of self-efficacy increased efficient stress coping. As for female teachers, not only resiliency of self-efficacy but also emotional support from colleague and family, job-performance contributed to coping with stress.

  • This study analyzed the effects of wage workers' job satisfaction, life satisfaction on turnover intention, and moderating effect of employment type after the global financial crisis using Korean Labor and Income Panel Study data. As a result, we found that the higher the job satisfaction is, the lower the turnover intention. However, the higher the job satisfaction and life satisfaction are, the higher the turnover intention. This is because the more satisfied with the job environment, the higher the tendency to seek better job opportunities, or the change in occupational value that favored free work. The higher the age, the higher the educational level, and the regular jobs are, the turnover intention decreased. In addition, the interaction terms of job satisfaction, job environmental satisfaction, life satisfaction, and regular employment all showed a moderating effect of employment type. However, since the results of the relationship between job satisfaction, job environmental satisfaction, life satisfaction and turnover intention, and the moderating effect may be due to limitations of measurement variables, further study is needed.
