  • The purpose of this study is to suggest improvement ways of outpatient process via a simulation model and to improve operational efficiency. Three experimentation scenarios were implemented into the simulation model to determine which proposed scenario provides better improvement in terms of the following performance measures: LOS(Length of Stay), patient waiting time, patient travel time, and staff utilization. The hospital medical data collection and statistical tools used to analyze the process mining tools. And the PIOS simulation tool was used and the validity of the model was verified by using t-test. The simulation results demonstrated that oupatient process of center type is most efficient. Simulation approach is a powerful technique that supports efficient decision-making compared to traditional healthcare management approach based on past experience, feelings, and intuition. Therefore, the proposed experimentation model has wide applicability in healthcare systems.

  • This study investigated the factors that influence the attitude, trust, and acceptance toward the North Korean residents by South Koreans. Three hundred and ninety-two South Koreans, including 222 with no contact experience with North Korean residents and 170 with contact experience, answered a questionnaire. The experience group included police officers who provide protection and settlement service, labor counsellors, social workers, church people, college classmates and tutors, and teachers in alternative schools for North Korean youths. The results indicated that protecting police officers have highly negative attitudes in both cognitive and affective dimensions and also show low trust and acceptance. Teachers in alternative schools, on the other hand, were found to have both positive and negative cognitive evaluations of North Korean residents, but still maintained positive affect and high trust and acceptance. People with no contact experience had negative affect along with pity, and showed medium level trust and acceptance. The distinctive difference between the police officers and teachers were attributed to the individual characteristics such as authoritarian personality and uncertainty avoidance rather than to the frequency or depth of contact. The most important determinant of trust and acceptance were found to be the affective component. The implications of these findings on the selection and training of interface personnel and peace education were discussed.

  • This study is a methodological approach to the study of a customer experience-based Tuberculosis(TB) management service design for a local public medical institution, with the application of the service design process by the Design Council in the UK. This study designed a TB management service for a local public medical institution using the service design method which identifies and resolves TB management-related problems based on experiences of medical personnel of TB facilities as well as of TB patients. To design a TB management service for the whole process from hospitalization to discharge and then to cooperation with local communities, a team was formed with 12 TB management-related personnel. The team went through the four phases of service design process: Discover, Define, Develop and Deliver. In addition, the TB management service based on customer experience was developed that included eight services related to processes from hospitalization to discharge and cooperation with local communities. According to the study results, a service design methodology was found to be considerably effective in developing a service program that takes into account an overall circumstance of various relevant personnel as well as patients. It is suggested that further studies use a service design methodology in developing various health management service programs in need of improvement of work efficiency among relevant personnel as well as providing the best satisfaction for customers by identifying hidden needs based on their experiences.

That system is a learning experience that are relative to university's regular educational curriculum and industry field training. In order to practice an effective field training system, lots of helps from company, college, students and government's interest are needed. But, in most industry fields, it is hard to accept field training manpower in condition of that has no extra guaranteed budget or staff for field training. Because of it, the biggest matter of college the industry field training is to maintain industry fields. Although students want to be paid properly in industry fields where are furnished the advance facilities and equipments and participated in practices, it is extremely hard situation to achieve it in reality. In this way, the management of industry field training has realistic difficult problems, but it is a necessary system. Therefore, in this paper, methodology and model for industry field training management process are suggested in order to administer effective industry field training.
