Relationship between Uncertainty, Self Efficacy, Social Support, and Self-Care Performance in Liver Transplant Recipients (간이식 수혜자의 불확실성, 자기효능감 및 사회적 지지와 자가간호 수행 간의 관계)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to determine the correlation between uncertainty, self efficacy, social support, and self-care performance among liver transplant recipients. Methods: Participants comprised 111 liver transplant recipients who visited the outpatient clinic at the hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery department of a hospital in D city. Data were collected from September to October 2021 using self-report questionnaires, and were analyzed by the SPSS 23.0 program. Results: Self-care performance was correlated with uncertainty (r=-.31, p=.001), self efficacy (r=.22, p=.023), and social support (r=.38, p<.001). Conclusion: To improve self-care performance in liver transplant recipients, it is necessary to develop nursing interventions that can reduce uncertainty and enhance self efficacy and social support.

The effect of turnover nurses' social support, emotional labor and subjective health on resilience (이직간호사의 사회적 지지, 감정노동과 주관적 건강이 회복탄력성에 미치는 영향)

  • The frequent turnover of nurses is one of the great difficulties of the medical profession, the purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of social support, emotional labor and subjective health on resilience of turnover nurses. The subjects of this study were 70 turnover nurses and collected data from November 1-10, 2018. The collected data were analyzed using the IBM SPSS 25.0 program. The significance level was .05. The results of this study are as follows. 1) Resilience was significantly different according to job satisfaction and subjective health. 2) Resilience showed a significant correlation with social support and subjective health (p <.05). 3) Factors influencing recovery elasticity were job satisfaction and social support and the explanatory power was 44.1% (F = 9.93, p <.001). It is necessary to improve the resilience of nurses to reduce job turnover and increase the adaptability to the clinic. Therefore, it is necessary to reflect these influential factors in improving the resilience of transition nurses.

The Influence of Growth Mindset and Professor Support on School Life Adjustment of Nursing College Freshman in the Era of COVID-19 (코로나19 시대 간호대학 신입생의 성장마인드셋과 교수지지가 학교생활적응에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to confirm the relationship between growth mindset, professor support and school life adjustment of nursing college freshman in the era of COVID-19, and to understand the effect on school life adjustment. The subjects of this study were 248 nursing college freshman located in G Metropolitan City, and data collection was conducted from October 4 to October 31, 2022. The collected data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients and multiple regression analysis using the SPSS/WIN 28.0 program. As a result of the study, school life adjustment had a significant positive correlation with growth mindset(r=.51, p<.000) and professor support(r=.54, p<.000). Factors affectiong school life adjustment of nursing college freshman were professor support(β=.38, p<.001), subjects who answered very satisfied in major satisfaction(β=.31, p<.001), growth mindset(β=.26, p<.001), subjects who answered satisfied in major satisfaction(β=.16, p=.015), and female students(β=.14, p=.005), which explained 44.0% of variance. The results of this study will be usefully used to develop strategies to improve the school life adjustment of nursing college freshman. In the future, a follow-up study that can expand the subjects and explain the school life adjustment of nursing college freshman is suggested.

The Effects of Supportive Nursing Intervention Using Video-Program of Operating Room Nurses before Operation on Laparoscopic Hysterectomy Patient's Anxiety (수술 전 수술실간호사의 동영상 프로그램을 활용한 지지간호중재가 자궁적출술 환자의 불안에 미치는 효과)

  • This study was to identify the effects of supportive nursing intervention using video-program of operating room nurses before operation on laparoscopic hysterectomy patient's anxiety. This study was nonequivalent control group pre-post test design. The data were collected from May 1 to Jun 20, 2013 and analyzed by $x^2-test$, Fisher's exact test and t-test using SPSS 20.0 program. Experimental group(who received supportive nursing intervention) and control group(who received booklet education) was respectively consisted of 25 patients who were laparoscopy hysterectomy. The anxiety(p=.002) of experimental group was significantly lower than control group. The systolic(p=.012) and diastolic(p=.045) pressure of experimental group was significantly lower than control group, but pulse wasn't. The supportive nursing intervention for preoperative patient is considered effective and useful in reducing anxiety. Further research is warranted to investigate the supportive nursing intervention long-term effect.

Social Support and Grit of Nursing Students Impact on Academic Self-Efficacy (간호대학생의 사회적 지지와 그릿(Grit)이 학업적 자기효능감에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of social support and Grit on academic self-efficacy among nursing students. Data were collected from October to November 2022 from nursing students in five nursing departments located in City D. A total of 167 subjects participated in the study. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS/WIN statistics program 26.0. As a result, social support(r=0.379, p<.001) and Grit(r=0.532, p<.001) were correlated with academic self-efficacy, and grit was identified as a factor affecting academic self-efficacy(Adju-R2=.277, p<.001). Based on the findings of this study, it is recommended that future programs be developed to increase academic self-efficacy in nursing students.

Effects of Clinical Nurses' Social Support, Self-efficacy and Job Stress on Health Promoting Behaviors (임상간호사의 사회적 지지, 자기효능감, 직무스트레스가 건강증진행위에 미치는 영향)

  • This study aimed to confirm the effect of social support, self-efficacy, and job stress of clinical nurses on health promoting behaviors. The subjects of this study were 345 clinical nurses with more than 6 months of experience working at three general hospitals located in G city. Collected data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation, and multiple regression analysis using SPSS 26.0 program. As a result, the prediction factors influencing health promoting behaviors were social support(𝛽=.36, p<.001), self-efficacy(𝛽=.35, p<.001), job stress(𝛽=-.09, p=.018), having breakfast four times a week or more(𝛽=.20, p<.001), and perceived health status is good(𝛽=.20, p=.001) or average(𝛽=.20, p<.001). And the explanatory power on health promoting behaviors from these variables was 49%(F=26.57, p<.001). Therefore, it is necessary to reflect programs and policies to improve the health promoting behaviors of clinical nurses.

A Study on the Relationships among Resilience, Social Support, Community Resilience, and Anxiety of Nursing Students Experienced COVID-19 Situation (COVID-19 상황을 경험한 간호대학생의 회복탄력성, 사회적지지, 커뮤니티 탄력성 및 불안과의 관계)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify relationship between resilience, social support, community resilience, and anxiety in nursing students. 252 participants were recruited from the university located in Gyeonggi-do and data were collected using self-reported questionnaires. Data were analyzed using the SPSS/WIN 25.0 program, with descriptive statistics x2-test, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation. The average score were resilience 3.10 out of 5, social support 4.22 out of 5, community resilience 3.21 out of 5, and anxiety 2.21 out of 4. In addition, social support(r=.32, p<.001) and community resilience(r=.18, p=.004) were positively correlated with resilience, but anxiety(r=-64, p<.001) was negatively correlated with resilience in university students. In conclusion, program and comprehensive support system are needed to strengthen social support and community resilience, to control and cope with anxiety in order to improve resilience of the university students.

The Effect of Maladaptive Perfectionism, Self-leadership, and Social Support on Nursing students' Clinical Practice Stress

  • The purpose of this study was to identify factors influencing maladaptive perfectionism, self-leadership, and social support on nursing students' clinical practice stress. Participants were 150 nursing students who were enrolled at four universities in Chungcheongbukdo. Data were collected using questionnaire by from 03 to 30 November, 2022. The measurement tools consisted of the Almost Perfect Scale-Revised, Self Leadership Questionnaire-Revidsed, Scale of Social Support, and Clinical Practice Stress Scale-Revised. Results revealed that higher levels of maladaptive perfectionism were associated with increased clinical practice stress. Decreased self-leadership, satisfaction with nursing major, number of clinical practice in other regions, and social support was also associated with increased clinical practice stress. Findings indicate that specific characteristics such as maladaptive perfectionism and decrease of social support can lead to increase clinical practice stress. In this paper, we propose that active considerations for these psychological characteristics are important when reducing clinical practice stress for nursing students.

The Effects of Social Support and Recovery Resilience on Self Care Behavior among the Elderly with Hypertension in the Senior Welfare Center (노인복지회관을 이용하는 고혈압 노인의 사회적 지지와 회복탄력성이 자가간호행위에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify correlation among social support, recovery resilience, and self-care behavior among the elderly with hypertension, as well as to clarify factors that affect self-care behavior. This was a descriptive study conducted with 183 hypertensive seniors over age 65 from three different senior welfare centers in C region. Data of this study were collected from Aug 20-31, 2018. T-test, ANOVA, Pearson's coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression were used for analysis. As a result, the mean score of social support was $3.79{\pm}0.78$ out of 5, recovery resilience was $4.10{\pm}0.71$ out of 5, and self-care behavior was $3.93{\pm}0.51$ out of 5. Self-care behavior had a statistically significant positive correlation with social support(r=.204, p<.001) and recovery resilience(r=.405, p<.001). Factors influencing Self-care behavior were recovery resilience(${\beta}=.36$, p<.001) and regularity of exercise(${\beta}=.17$, p=.019). These factors explained 18.9% of self-care behavior(F=21.02, p<.001). The study results indicate that recovery resilience and regularity of exercise are critical factors affecting self-care behavior among the elderly with of hypertension. Therefore, to promote self-care behavior among the hypertensive seniors, regular exercise must be advised and the development and evaluation of nursing interventions that can improve recovery resilience may be necessary.
