A Qualitative Study on Experience of Parents Who Use Community Welfare Center Supporting Their Children's Career in the Underprivileged Families (지역사회복지관을 이용하는 빈곤가정 부모의 청소년자녀 진로지원경험 연구)

  • The aim of this qualitative study was to explore and understand the roles, efforts, difficulties and challenges parents have in the process of raising teenage children and supporting their career development in the underprivileged families. The research was conducted through focus group interviews with low-income parents, with support from 11 local community welfare centers nationwide, and then thematic analysis was done with collected data. And we could draw on findings on the difficulties those parents are dealing with while assisting career plans of their children, the endeavors they make when doing so, the helpful support from the society, and things to be done in the future. With the results, we provide final recommendations on family-centered action plans and the roles of community welfare center that can effectively assist career development of teenage kids in the process of child upbringing of the underprivileged families.

Relationships among Fatigue, Musculoskeletal Pain and Job Satisfaction in Rehabilitation Center Employees (장애인 복지관 종사자의 피로, 근골격계 통증 및 직무만족도의 관계)

  • This is a descriptive research was to find out fatigue, musculoskeletal pain and job satisfaction in rehabilitation centers employees. The research subject was 199 rehabilitation center employees, and the collected data were analyzed through descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffé's test, Pearson's correlation coefficients and multiple regression. The results revealed that the significant predictors of job satisfaction for rehabilitation center employees were working duration(β=-.033, p=.010), fatigue(β=-.051, p=.015), and musculoskeletal pain(β=-.020, p=.047), explaining 8.4% of the variation in job satisfaction(F=5.549, p<.001). These results can be recommended as preliminary data for preventing and managing fatigue and musculoskeletal pain of rehabilitation centers employees who play an important role in the community.

  • In western countries, the community care for the elderly people has developed, because of heavy cost and isolation problem in the society of institutional care basis. Since 1980, 'home care for the elderly' has introduced in korea. One of them is 'Multipurpose senior center'. However it has built without rational space programming and architectural planning analysis. Therefor, this study is to establish the function and space programming of multipurpose senior center.

Meaning and identity of social work practice by thinking through settlement house as a welfare space : Comparison of Toynbee Hall and Hull House (복지공간으로서 인보관을 통한 사회복지실천의 뜻과 정체성의 사유 : 토인비 홀과 헐 하우스의 비교)

  • Purposes of this study, summoning thoughts and activities of Toynbee Hall of the UK and Hull House of the US held in between the end of 19C and the early 20C, are two folded: first, it is to examine the momentum and aims for which 'social' work was progressively established at that time; second, it is to look for implications for today's social work practice through understanding their characteristic activities and the context in which 'social' work was devised as an alternative in the two nations. The study method mainly relies on literature review, but further goes on to analyze the spirit of the age when settlement house was constructed as a welfare space and activities, leadership demonstrated in there, and to draw meanings for today, in terms of three dimensions: aim and location, professionality and education, and social action. Some of useful findings are: first, the COS and settlement house need to be considered in a continuum of socially responsive remedies against poverty and social work practice was developed in the process of 'suggestion-performance-critique-alternative suggestion-emergence of social work', rather than contrasting the two as opposite roots of social work practice. Second, settlement house was a socially constructed welfare space that contained intersectional dynamics of class, gender, personal vs. social, private vs. public, surrounding poverty issue. Third, besides differences between the two settlements, both purported for public goods and well-being and tried to realize the 'social' in that society. Lastly, this study explored historical meanings of settlement house as the welfare space with critical questions and discussed implications for social work practice today.

  • 본 연구(硏究) 보고서(報告書)는 중앙대학교(中央大學校) 부설(附設) 사회복지관(社會福祉館) 운영(運營)의 합리성(合理性)과 그 기능(機能)의 고찰(考察)을 중심(中心)으로 하여 저소득층(低所得層)에 있어서 사회복지관(社會福祉館)의 역할(役割)과 그 봉사활동(奉仕活動)의 내용(內容)이 어떠해야만 한다는 가설(假說)과 합리성(合理性)을 개최(開催)하는 동시(同時)에 금반(今般) 이스라엘, 예루살렘에서 1978년 8월 14일부터 8월 18일까지 개최(開催)하는 국제사회사업(國際社會事業) 대학협의회(大學協議會) 설립(設立) 50주년(周年) 기념학술대회(記念學術大會)에서 본(本) 연구보고서(硏究報告書)를 발표(發表)하도록 의뢰함으로써 그에 준(準)하여 작성(作成)하였으며 동시(同時)에 영문(英文)으로 기재하였다. 본 부설(附設) 사회복지관(社會福祉館)의 운영(運營)의 월지(越旨)와 목적(目的)은 아래와 같이 요약(要約)하고자 한다. 복지사회(福祉社會) 건설(建設)이라는 시대적(時代的)이며 전국적(全國的)인 여망(與望)에 부응(副應)하여 대학(大學)은 그 선도적(先導的) 역할(役割)을 담당하고 인간(人間)의 존엄성(尊嚴性)과 생존(生存)의 교리(?利)를 주장할 뿐만 아니라 국가부흥(國家復興)의 80년대(年代)를 향한 복지시책(福祉施策)의 기를 공고(鞏固)히 하고 사회사업(社會事業)의 토착화(土着化) 내지(內至) 자주성(自主性)을 확립(確立)해야 한다는 철학적(哲學的) 사명(使命)을 다하여야 하기에 본(本) 중앙대학교(中央大學校) 사회사업학과(社會事業學科)에서는 그러한 시범사업(示範事業)의 일환(一環)으로 본(本) 대학교(大學校)가 위치(位置)하고 있는 인근지역(隣近地域)에 사회복지관(社會福祉館)을 설립(設立)하고 다음의 세가지 목적(目的)을 달성하고저 광범(廣範)한 사업(事業)을 계획(計劃), 전개(展開)하고 있다. 1. 사회사업학(社會事業學)은 이론(理論)과 실제(實際)의 긴밀한 연계(連繫)가 강조되는 학문(學問)으로서 학생(學生)들의 실습(實習)을 교수(敎授)가 직접적으로 지도(指導), 감독(監督)함으로써 사회사업(社會事業)의 전문생(專門生)을 개발(開發)내지 발전(發展)시켜 나가야 한다. 2. 직접봉사(直接奉仕)와 학구적(學究的) 실험(實驗)을 통하여 새로운 봉사기술(奉仕技術)과 사업계획(事業計劃)을 개발(開發)하고 정립(定立)시킴으로써 국가적(國家的) 차원(次元)에서 실제분야(實際分野)에 직접 응용(應用)되도록 하여야 한다. 3. 대학(大學)이 위치(位置)하고 있는 인근지역(隣近地域), 특히 영세주민((零)細住民)들의 욕구(慾求)에 따라서 적절(適切)한 봉사(奉仕)를 직접 제공(提供)하여 줌으로써 지역사회문제(地域社會問題) 해결(解決) 참여(參與)하여야 한다. 4. 사업내용(事業內容) 위의 목적(目的)을 달성(達成)하기 위하여 다음과 같은 사업(事業)을 한다. Effect of the Distributive Justice on Turnover Intention of Workers in Community Rehabilitation Centers : Focusing on the Mediating Effect of Job Satisfaction (장애인복지관 종사자의 분배공정성이 이직의도에 미치는 영향 : 직무만족의 매개효과를 중심으로)

  • The research purpose is analyzing the relationship between the distributive justice and turnover intention of the workers in community rehabilitation centers. This study also examines the mediating effect of job satisfaction between the distributive justice and the turnover intention. For this purpose, the survey was conducted to workers of 14 community rehabilitation centers in Daejeon and Chungnam area, and the 365 data were used for analysis. The results of analysing as follows: 1) the distributive justice of the workers in community rehabilitation centers effected the turnover intention negatively and the job satisfaction positively. In addition, the partial mediating effect of job satisfaction was proved between the distributive justice and the turnover intention. The analysis results show that the distributive justice is the important independent variable of the turnover intention and the job satisfaction is the important parameter between the two variables. According to these analysis results, several suggestions were made to reduce the turnover intention of the workers being engaged in community rehabilitation centers in terms of the improving their distributive justice and job satisfaction.

  • Recently, community welfare centers including the elderly welfare centers are also interested in the issue of loneliness and are attempting a comprehensive approach to care for the elderly in the community.The problem is that there is a need for volunteers who are sustainable, but trained semi-professionals rather than non-professionals.Therefore, ways to provide education programs that can be based on continuous supplementation and specialization of manpower and to apply them to the field are being sought.The purpose of this study is to present a plan through examples with the aim of linking college students majoring in social welfare as a major resource for preventing loneliness of elderly people living alone in local communities through volunteer activities. It was suggested that volunteer activities of college students majoring in social welfare should be provided more systematically to the elderly living alone in the community.

  • This study inspected the relationship between the empowerment and the organizational immersion of professionals in community rehabilitation facilities for the disabled. And this also analyzed the mediating effect of job satisfaction. A survey of 348 professionals working in the 14 facilities of D Metropolitan City and C Province was conducted. The analysis results of this paper are as follows : the professionals' empowerment influenced the organizational immersion positively and the job satisfaction mediated between the two variables. According to the analysis results, several countermeasures were proposed to increase the professionals' organizational immersion. We need to provide decision making rights, various training opportunities, and appropriate supervision to advance their empowerment. To improve their job satisfaction, the education of professional ethics, the activation of successful case presentation, and the management of emotional labor are required.

  • This research verified the relationship between the job satisfaction and the burnout of workers in rehabilitation facilities providing services to the disabled. And this study examined the mediating effect of organizational commitment between the two variables. A survey of workers of the 14 facilities of Daejeon/Chungnam area and 363 materials was analyzed. The analysis results of this research are as follows : 1) the workers' job satisfaction influenced the burnout negatively. 2) the organizational commitment is was found to mediate between the job satisfaction and the burnout. Based on the analysis results, several measures can be presented to reduce the workers' burnout. We need to raise the worker's job satisfaction and organizational commitment.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of job-demands on social worker's organizational commitment. Espically this study focused on the moderating effect of LMX between job-demands and organizational commitment. The sample consisted of 189 social workers in 33 Senior Welfare Centers. The date was analyses using descriptive and multiple regression methods. The major findings of the study firstly were job-demands had negative effect on the social worker's organizational commitment and LMX had positive effect on the social worker's organizational commitment. Secondly, LMX had mederating effect between job-demands and organizational commitment. All these findings were discussed on Social Welfare Center and research.
