서비스 기업의 연구개발 활동에 관한 연구

  • 선진국의 경제구조가 서비스경제로 전환됨에 따라 고부가가치를 낼 수 있는 지식기반 (Knowledge-based) 또는 기술기반 (Technology-based) 서비스의 중요성이 부각되고 있으며 서비스 기업들간의 경쟁도 매우 치열해지고 있다. 서비스 기업들은 보다 차별화 된 고객가치를 창출하고 미래의 핵심역량을 확보하기 위해 다양한 활동을 전개하고 있으나 제조기업과는 달리 대부분의 서비스 기업들에게 연구개발 (Research and Development, R&D)이라는 개념은 매우 생소한 상태이다. 최근 유럽을 중심으로 서비스기업의 연구개발에 관한 논의가 활발히 진행되고 있지만 서비스기업의 특성을 포괄하는 연구개발에 대한 정의를 내리는 수준에 머물고 있다. 최근 우리나라 정부에서도 서비스 연구개발에 관한 정책입안을 위해 연구를 진행하고 있는바, 서비스기업에서의 연구개발에 대한 정의, 조직, 예산, 활동영역, 산출물 및 이에 따른 정책적 지원 등에 관한 학계에서의 연구는 거의 이루어지지 않고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 서비스기업의 연구개발활동을 도출하고 연구개발투자와 기업성과와의 관계를 분석함으로써 효과적인 연구개발 투자규모를 도출하는 것이 목표이다. 이 때 서비스기업의 연구개발활동이라 함은 연구개발 대상, 수행조직, 연구개발의 중요성이 포함된다. 또한 연구개발투자와 1-2년 후의 매출 및 순이익의 변화를 분석한다. 실증분석을 위해 기술기반 서비스를 대표하는 국내 IT서비스 기업을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며 다양한 통계분석을 활용하였다. 연구결과 대부분의 서비스 기업 응답자가 연구개발의 중요성을 크게 느끼고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 기업마다 부서별 또는 중앙 연구개발센터를 중심으로 다양한 연구개발활동을 수행하고 있으며 연구개발투자가 기업성과로 연계되기 위해서는 최고경영자의 관심이 가장 중요한 요인인 것으로 지적되었다. 가장 효과적인 연구개발 투자규모는 매출액 대비 15-19%인 것으로 분석되었는데 이는 벤처기업의 특성을 갖는 중소 IT서비스 기업들의 참여가 많았기 때문일 것으로 해석된다. 본 연구의 결과는 우리나라 서비스기업들이 미래준비를 위한 활동을 전개함에 있어 고려해야 할 주요 요인들을 제시해 줄 것이다.

The Embeddedness of Foreign Firms in Korea : The Case of Business Service Activities (사업서비스 분야 외국인직접투자기업의 한국내 뿌리내림)

  • This study empahsized the nature of spatial patterns, characteristics and embeddeness of foreign business service firms in Korea utilizing questionnaire survey and interview data. Foreign business services firms are active in forming interfirm networks with clients and supply firms in Korea for widening the market share in Korea. But a low proportion of foreign firms is engaged in academies-industry linkages, government organizations, research institutes, and trade associations. Knowledge transfer and interaction also shows low level of network and the regional development of foreign firms is still in the process of developing, not quite embedded yet. Policy guidances and instituional supports are very essential to strenthen interfirm network and collective learning process of foreing firms in Korea lather than mechanical accumulation of investments. Thus, regional foreign direct investment policy should be targeted towards the incrementation of the potential of foreign firms as a knowledge-intensive industry.

The Effect of Management Consulting Service Characteristics on Business Performance through Absorption Capacity and Innovation Willingness of SMEs (경영컨설팅서비스특성이 중소기업의 흡수역량과 혁신의지를 통하여 경영성과에 미치는 영향분석)

  • This study examinined the casual relationship between consulting service characteristics and management performance based on absorption capacity and innovative willingness in order to find out the factors of effective consulting In an age of infinite competition. 131 questionnaires were used to test 8 hypotheses using SPSS 22.0 and SmartPLS(3.3.2). Results are as follows: expertise and consultant knowledge among consulting service characteristics had a significant positive impact on management performance through the company's absorption capacity and innovative willingness. However, the consultant's attitude had no significant effect. This study suggests the necessary of factors that can enhance the consulting effectiveness. We would like to consider and analyze the psychological variables that can enhance the various attributes and management performance of consulting in future research.

  • e러닝 산업은 콘텐츠 자체가 목적이 되는 타 디지털콘텐츠 산업과 달리 콘텐츠ㆍ인프라ㆍ서비스 등이 통합되어 지식의 전달ㆍ축적ㆍ재생산의 수단을 제공하는 지식기반 서비스 산업으로 디지털콘텐츠 산업의 주요 핵심으로 등장하게 되었다. WTO 체제하에서 글로벌 경쟁이 심화됨에 따라 기업들은 e러닝을 지식경영을 위한 전략적 모듈로 정하고 계속되는 경기침체에도 불구하고 투자를 지속하고 있다. 또한 2004년이후 WTO의 교육개방정책에 따라 유럽 및 중국 등이 교육시장을 개방하면서 e러닝이 그 대비책의 하나로 대두되면서 세계 각국의 관심이 점점 높아지고 있다.

Factors Affecting Management Process Inefficiency of Knowledge Service Firms (지식서비스기업의 관리프로세스 비효율에 영향을 미치는 요인 연구)

  • Knowledge service firms are able to have higher 'Organizational Performance (OP)' by improving efficiency in management processes on customer problem solving. This study explores the role of inefficiency that has been overlooked up to now compared to the management process efficiency. We also suggest in this study 'Hierarchical Culture (HC)' and 'IT Relatedness (IR)' as the factors influencing the inefficiency of management processes, and propose the moderating effect of 'Task Difficulty (TD)' on the relationship between independent factors and 'Inefficiency of Business Process(IP)'. The results of analysis show that 'HC' has a positive effect on 'IP', and 'IR' has a negative effect on 'IP'. 'TD' was significant moderator of between independent variables and 'IP'. 'IP' was shown to play a full mediating role between independent factors and 'OP'. In conclusion, knowledge service firms are desired to reduce 'HC' and enhance 'IR' by minimizing unnecessary formal procedures, securing flexibility in decision making through appropriate empowerment, creating a smooth flow of knowledge, and enhancing the level of IT resource management and utilization. In addition, in order to effectively reduce 'IP', it is required that a company with a high degree of 'TD' to more reduce a 'HC' and a company with a low degree of 'TD' to more enhance a 'IR'.

Effects of Knowledge-based Service Organization CEO' Transformational Leader ship and Learning Organization Building Factors on Innovative Behavior in the Age of Convergence (융복합시대에 지식서비스기업 최고경영자의 변혁적 리더십과 학습조직 구축요인이 혁신행동에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of study was to test the effects of CEO' transformational leadership and learning organization on innovative behavior in the Knowledge-based Service Organization showing the characteristics of convergence service and the moderating role of learning organization between transformational leadership and innovative behavior. For this study, the data were collected from 348 Knowledge-based Service industrial employees in metropolitan area by using structured questionnaires. Collected data were analyzed by hierarchical regression technique. The results showed that both of CEO' transformational leadership and seven learning organization building factors had a positive effect on employees' innovative behavior. And also found out the only four out of the seven learning organization building factors, namely 'Create continuous learning opportunities', 'Promote inquiry and dialogue', 'Encourage collaboration and team learning', 'Provide strategic leadership for learning' had the moderate roles between CEO's transformational leadership and employees' innovative behavior. The theoretical and practical implications of the findings were discussed and the directions for future research were presented.

Case Analysis of the Information Internalization of Korean SW Developers in China (중국 진출 SW기업의 정보내재화 방식 분석)

  • 본 인구에서는 5개의 국내 SW기업들의 사례를 활용하여 해외진출 노력을 분석한다. 국제신생벤처 이론 ((INU theory; International New Venture theory) 관점에서 중국시장 진출에서 발생하는 독특한 해외 진출 장애구간 즉 캐즘 (chasm)의 극복 방식과 기업의 성과와의 관계를 살펴본다. 특히 시장선점 (MS) 전락과 고객동반 진출 (CF) 전략에 따른 핵심역량과 지식 및 네트워크 구축 빙식의 차이와 외진출성과 차이와의 관계를 도출한다. 사례분석 결과 캐즘을 극복할 기업들은 진출 후 자식의 획득, 네트워크의 구축 면에서 정보를 내재화 (internationalization)하는 방식을 가지고 있음을 밝혔다.

  • Recently, due to the continuous changes in the business environment and increased competition, enterprises are introducing technology management to increase their value and enhance their competitiveness. In this study, based on the structural equations model, we investigated the effects of the core success factors of knowledge management on job fidelity and organizational performance and the mediating effects of organizational learning. In addition, organizational culture and information technology and process were assumed to be the key factors affecting knowledge management, and organizational learning was represented by experimental learning, indirect learning, and shared learning. As a result, it was found that knowledge management positively affects business fidelity and organizational performance and, even when it is mediated by organizational learning, it positively affects business fidelity and organization performance directly or indirectly. Therefore, we were able to confirm the importance of utilizing knowledge management in companies and to suggest an appropriate application scope for applying knowledge management and organizational learning.

Classification of Performance Types for Knowledge Intensive Service Supporting SMEs Using Clustering Techniques: Focused on the Case of K Research Institute (클러스터링 기법을 활용한 중소기업 지원 지식서비스의 성과유형 분류: K 연구원 사례를 중심으로)

  • In recent years, many small and medium-sized manufacturing companies are making process innovation and product innovation through the public knowledge services. K Research institute provides different types of knowledge services in combination and due to this complexity, it is difficult to analyze the performance of knowledge service programs precisely. In this study, we derived performance items from bottom-up viewpoints, rather than top-down approaches selecting those items as in previous performance analysis. As a result, 74 items were finded from 82 companies in the K Research Institute case book, and the final result was refined to 17 items. After that a case-performance matrix was constructed, and binary data was entered to analyze. As a result, three clusters were identified through K-means clustering as 'enhancement of core competitiveness (product and patent),' 'expansion of domestic and overseas market,' and 'improvement of operational efficiency.'
