The Korean real estate market currently is experiencing a slowdown due to the global economic crisis which has resulted from subprime mortgage lending practices. In response, the Korean government has enforced various policies, based on intend to deregulate real estate speculation, such as increasing the Loan to value ratio (LTV) in order to stimulate housing supply, demand and accompanying housing transactions. However, these policies have appeared to result in deep confusion in the Korean housing market. Furthermore, analyses for housing market forecasting particularly those which examine the impact of the international financial crisis on the Korean real estate market have been partial and fragmentary. Therefore, a comprehensive and systematical approach is required to analyze the real estate financial market and the causal nexus between market determining factors. Thus, with an integrated perspective and applying a system dynamics methodology, this paper proposes Korean Real Estate and Mortgage Market dynamics models based on the fundamental principles of housing markets, which are determined by supply and demand. As well, the potential effects of the Korean government's deregulation policies are considered by focusing on the main factor of these policies: the mortgage loan.
The curriculum in the vocational training shall be planed and operated on a basis what is the occupational category that the students can be employed after their graduation and the ability necessary to the engagement in their occupations. Accordingly, the course selecting the quality of education in the curriculum plan for the vocational training shall be developed continuously and gradually through the maintenance of dose relation by the participation of the persons in the industries related to the major field. While many assessment systems for buildings and indoor environment have been created with increasing interest in sustainable development, assessments for sustainable landscaping and outdoor environments have received less attention. Recently, the Sustainable Site Initiatives(SITES) was developed in the USA in order to evaluate and certify sustainable landscape design projects. The purposes of this study are to analyze sustainable landscape strategies and to review the certification system through case studies of SITES certified projects. Three certified projects in Texas were selected and literature review, site visits and interview were conducted. The results indicated that various sustainable and practical strategies were applied including soil preservation, use of native plants and recycled materials, and water harvesting. Also, SITES has benefits to encourage an integrated design process, community participation, and environmental education for the public. This suggests that a certification system for landscaping and outdoor environments needs to be developed to ensure sustainable site development, which helps extend the roles of the landscape architecture profession in sustainable design.
We studied the green synthesis and antibacterial activity of chitosan-silver (Ag) nanocomposite films for application in food packaging. Green synthesis of Ag nanoparticles (AgNPs) was achieved by a chemical reaction involving a mixture of chitosan-silver nitrate ($AgNO_3$) in an autoclave at 0.1 MPa, $121^{\circ}C$, for 15-120 s. The formation of AgNPs in chitosan was confirmed by both UV-Visible spectrophotometry and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and the effects of chitosan-$AgNO_3$ concentration and reaction time on the synthesis of AgNPs in chitosan were examined. The resulting chitosan-Ag composite films were characterized by various analytical techniques and their antibacterial activity was evaluated based on the formation of halo zones around films, indicating inhibition of the growth of Escherichia coli. A fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy analysis showed that free amino groups in chitosan acted as effective reductants and AgNP stabilizers. The composite films exhibited enhanced antibacterial activity with increasing Ag content on the surface of as-prepared composite films.

This paper aims to analyze factors affecting technology transfer performance according to different types of Korean universities and to conduct the research for the channel and extent of impact between these factors, utilizing 5 - year data for the technology transfers of 110 universities based on the survey by National Research Foundation of Korea. According to the analysis, incentive for researchers is the most crucial factor in local universities and small & medium-sized private universities located in the capital area. And numerical value of intellectual property rights owned by university is the key factor in universities specializing in science & engineering / industry. Also, Big-sized universities are heavily affected by the number of full-time faculty. In case of private universities, government subsidy relating to patents is critical factor for technology transfer performance. The mean value of all variables is a lot higher in participant universities than non-participant ones in CK(Connect Korea) project. In summary, it is suggested that steady financial support provided by the government is required and that mutual cooperation for industry-university-government is also needed for the commercialization of the technologies held by universities.
The purposes of this study were to examine the current status of ICT in all ASEAN countries and to provide implications for Korea to find appropriate ways to support and collaborate with HEIs in ASEAN countries. To achieve these purposes, ASEAN countries were categorized into 3 groups based on the development stages of ICT, and the key ICT initiatives, current facts about ICT, and related issues were analyzed. The results of the study were as follows: Group 1 countries, Brunei, Malaysia, and Singapore, with relatively well-established ICT infrastructure, have established their own ICT policies and initiated e-learning programs. Group 2 countries, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam, which have relatively well-developed ICT infrastructure with existing regional gaps, showed different uses of ICT in higher education. Philippines and Thailand established their own policies based on national ICT master plans while Indonesia focused on MOOCs and Vietnam initiated cyber university projects. Group 3 countries, Cambodia, Lao PDR, and Myanmar, with the least developed ICT infrastructure in ASEAN, have also tried to develop national level strategies to utilize ICT in higher education. However, insufficient and inadequate ICT infrastructure created issues and challenges for these countries to successfully initiate ICT policies. This study suggested that it is necessary to take into serious consideration the national differences when collaborating with and supporting ASEAN countries due to the variation of ICT development stages and different levels of using ICT in higher education among ASEAN countries.

This study is a quasi experimental study to investigate the effects of stroke prevention education program of Oriental Nursing on self-health perception, health behavior change, self-care and physiological index of adults over 55 years old and elderly people. The data were collected from August 12 to November 29, 2017. The 53 study subjects comprised 26 experimental subjects who agreed to participate in the education program and 27 control subjects. In the results, there was no statistically significant difference between the experimental group and the control group in general characteristics and research variables before the program; further, the two groups were homogenous. In the hypothesis test, the change in self-health perceptions of the experimental and control groups was t = -5.28 (p <.001), health behavior change was t = -4.24 (p <.001), self-care was t = -5.28 (p <.05), systolic blood pressure was t = 2.48 (p <.05), diastolic blood pressure was t = 2.78 (p <.05), and cholesterol was t = -3.94 (p <.001). There were statistically significant differences between the two groups and all four hypotheses were supported, which demonstrated the effectiveness of the program. These study results suggest that it is an effective program to change the self-perception of health and health behavior, improve self-care ability, and control the physiological index. It is expected that these findings will be useful in developing a future effective oriental nursing intervention. The education program should be continuously carried out, and the area needs to be expanded.

Korea's shipbuilding industry has led the world in the technical area over the last century. Despite this commendable performance, around 2,000 workers experience accidents almost every year with 40 being killed. This raises a question of whether the safety level of our shipbuilding industry, in particular the safety of workers, is actually at the world-class level. Accordingly, this research has analyzed several types of safety training currently provided in the field through investigating statistical data of serious accidents occurring from 2006 to 2015 in the domestic shipbuilding industry, analyzing its occurrence and causes, and conducting a survey targeting employees in the shipbuilding industry. Based on this, it has investigated problems of safety training in the shipbuilding industry and suggested improvements. First, it is essential to create a standard system for safety training in the shipbuilding industry to address problems of different kinds and levels of safety training provided by each shipyard and low quality of training, and operate more organized and systemized training. Second, safety training curriculum specializing in the shipbuilding industry should continue to be developed and standardized based on a standard system for safe training to prevent serious accidents and improve safety awareness of workers. Lastly, both employers and employees should actively provide and participate in safety training to secure safety of workers through preventing serious accidents and ultimately create safety-first culture in workplace.
We proposed a numerical method to simulate the hydro-mechanical behavior of rock fracture using a grain-based distinct element model (GBDEM) in the paper. As a part of DECOVALEX-2023 Task G, we verified the method via benchmarks with analytical solutions. DECOVALEX-2023 Task G aims to develop a numerical method to estimate the coupled thermo-hydro-mechanical processes within the crystalline rock fracture network. We represented the rock sample as a group of tetrahedral grains and calculated the interaction of the grains and their interfaces using 3DEC. The micro-parameters of the grains and interfaces were determined by a new methodology based on an equivalent continuum approach. In benchmark modeling, a single fracture embedded in the rock was examined for the effects of fracture inclination and roughness, the boundary stress condition and the applied pressure. The simulation results showed that the developed numerical model reasonably reproduced the fracture slip induced by boundary stress condition, the fracture opening induced by fluid injection, the stress distribution variation with fracture inclination, and the fracture roughness effect. In addition, the fracture displacements associated with the opening and slip showed good agreement with the analytical solutions. We expect the numerical model to be enhanced by continuing collaboration and interaction with other research teams of DECOVALEX-2023 Task G and validated in further study experiments.
