Mechanism of a grafting machine using the insertion method (삽접법을 이용한 기계접목 메카니즘 연구)

  • Grafting is an important skill for the stable supply and production of high quality. However, the shortage of skillful labor has become great difficulty for a mass production of grafting-seedling. In this study, a suitable mechanism for a grafting machine was developed. The following summarize the results of this study: 1. An insertion method was selected for mechanism of the grafting machine without bonding agent, clip, pin. This insertion-grafting method can be applicable to general vegetables and a mass production system. In addition to, this method is suitable for developing the grafting mechanism. 2. Growing point was removed while remaining both cotyledons on rootstock. The productivity of this system was five fold greater than the one of an experienced labor. 3. The rootstock processing was placed on left and scion processing unit was placed on right of the system, then processed rootstock and scion graft by rotating $180^{\circ}$. 4. The efficiency tests on mechanical grafting rate showed 98%.

Page Replacement Algorithm for Improving Performance of Hybrid Main Memory (하이브리드 메인 메모리의 성능 향상을 위한 페이지 교체 기법)

  • In modern computer systems, DRAM is commonly used as main memory due to its low read/write latency and high endurance. However, DRAM is volatile memory that requires periodic power supply (i.e., memory refresh) to sustain the data stored in it. On the other hand, PCM is a promising candidate for replacement of DRAM because it is non-volatile memory, which could sustain the stored data without memory refresh. PCM is also available for byte-addressable access and in-place update. However, PCM is unsuitable for using main memory of a computer system because it has two limitations: high read/write latency and low endurance. To take the advantage of both DRAM and PCM, a hybrid main memory, which consists of DRAM and PCM, has been suggested and actively studied. In this paper, we propose a novel page replacement algorithm for hybrid main memory. To cope with the weaknesses of PCM, our scheme focuses on reducing the number of PCM writes in the hybrid main memory. Experimental results shows that our proposed page replacement algorithm reduces the number of PCM writes by up to 80.5% compared with the other page replacement algorithms.

Alternative Positioning, Navigation, and Timing Applicable to Domestic PBN Implementation (국내 PBN 이행을 위한 대안 항법 적용 방안)

  • Republic of Korea has established its performance-based navigation (PBN) implementation plan in 2010 for ensuring a smooth transition to PBN operations and relevant new flight procedures are being developed in accordance with the roadmap. Various Navigation aids (NAVAIDs) like global navigation satellite systems (GNSS), distance measuring equipment (DME), VHF omnidirectional range (VOR), inertial navigation system (INS) are used to support PBN procedures. Among them, GNSS would play a central role in PBN implementation. However, vulnerability of satellite navigation signals to artificial and natural interferences has been discovered and various alternative positioning, navigation and timing (APNT) technologies are under development in many countries. In this paper, we study whether continuous PBN operations can be achievable without GNSS signals. As a result, it shows that some of the domestic airports require the construction of APNT in the approach area.

Penetrating Performance of Wood-preservatives by Ultrasonic Steeping (초음파침지처리에 의한 목재방부제의 주입성)

  • In this study, we attempted to apply ultrasonic treatment for the preservative treatment of two softwood species, Korean pine and Japanese red pines to evaluate its effectiveness. Wood samples were submerged in oilborne preservative, copper naphthenate (NCU) and waterborne preservative, alkyl ammonium compound (AAC) and then treated with ultrasonic wave of 40 kHz, 400 W. After the treatment, the retention and penetration depth of these preservatives in the specimens were measured as a function of treatment time. Both the retention and penetration depth were continuously increased with increasing the treatment time up to 120 hours, where the retention reached about 95% by the application of AAC and the penetrating depth of 95% and 83% by the application of NCU, respectively for both species. The results of electronic microscopic observation showed that the improved retention capacity could be attributed to air deflation, wood extractive deflation working of ultrasonic wavelength, and destruction of wood pits which served as the pathway of preservatives. The results suggested that the use of ultrasonic treatment could be applied to thick wood veneers for the production of laminated wood products.

  • 댐 저수지에서 지속적인 탁도를 유발하는 물질은 쉽게 침강되지 않는 $20{\mu}m$이하의 작은 부유물질(SS)이며, 가을 수직혼합 시기까지 침강되지 않은 부유물질은 다시 재부상하는 경우도 발생한다. 저수지내 탁수의 장기 체류는 수자원 이용과 하류하천의 수생태계에 다양한 문제를 야기하고 있어 일부 댐에서는 실시간 탁도 감시 장치를 설치하고 취수설비를 개선하는 등의 탁수저감 대책의 노력을 기울이고 있으나, 시설의 최적 운영을 지원할 수 있는 탁수 거동 및 탁도 예측에 관한 연구는 아직 부족한 실정이다. 특히, 탁도는 물 속에 존재하는 부유물질의 광학적 특성(light attenuation)을 나타내는 지표로써 SS와는 물리적인 물성이 달라 실시간 계측자료(탁도)와 모델의 모의 변수(SS)가 다른 문제점 때문에 모델링에 어려움이 있었다. 지금까지 탁도 모델링은 대부분 탁도와 SS의 상관관계를 이용하는 방법을 사용하였다. 그러나 이 방법은 탁도-SS 관계가 실측지점과 입자크기분포에 따라 달라지는 특성 때문에 변환과정에 예측결과의 불확실성이 내재한다는 지적을 받아왔다. 본 연구의 목적은 저수지로 유입한 탁수의 보다 과학적이고 정확한 탁도 예측을 위해 탁도를 유발하는 부유물질의 입자크기 분포와 공간적으로 변하는 탁도-SS의 상관관계를 고려할 수 있는 표준화된 탁도 모델링 방법을 개발하고, 실측자료를 사용하여 제시된 탁도 모델링 방법의 예측 성능을 평가하는데 있다. 부유물질의 이송-확산-침강 모델은 2차원 횡방향 평균 수리 모델과 연결(coupling)되어 수행되며, 저수지 수면을 통한 열 교환, 바람과 바닥 조도에 의한 난류혼합과 성층해석, 하천 유입수의 저수지내 밀도류 유동, 그리고 입자 크기별 부유물질의 독립침강을 해석한다. 부유입자의 크기분포와 공간적으로 서로 다른 탁도-SS 관계를 고려한 탁도 예측모델은 기존의 탁도를 종속변수로 사용한 예측 방법 또는 단일 입자크기를 사용한 모델보다 개선된 모의결과를 보여주었다. 본 연구에서 제시된 탁도 예측 알고리즘은 실시간 탁수감시와 예측 모델링, 그리고 댐 방류수 탁도 관리를 위한 선택취수 설비의 운영을 위한 의사결정지원시스템에 적용 가능할 것으로 사료된다.

Foreground segmentation and tracking from sequential stereo images for 3D object modeling (3차원 물체 모델링을 위한 연속된 스테레오 이미지 상에서의 전경 영역 분리 및 추적)

  • The previous researches of 3D object modeling have been performed in a limited environment where a target object only exists. However, in order to model an object in the real environment, we need to consider a dynamic environment, which has various objects and a frequently changing background. Therefore, this paper presents a segmentation and tracking method for a foreground which includes a target object in the dynamic environment. By using depth information than color information, the foreground region can be segmented and tracked more robustly. In addition, the foreground region can be tracked on the sequential images by referring depth distributions of the foreground region because both the position and the status in the consecutive images of the foreground region are almost unchanged. Experimental results show that our proposed method can robustly segment and track the foreground region in various conditions of the real environment. Moreover, as an application of the proposed method, it is presented a method for modeling an object extracting the object regions from the foreground region that is segmented and tracked.

A Study on the Development of a Dry PFB Method with High Fire Resistance (건식화 P0SCO E&C Fire Board (PFB)공법 개발에 관한 연구)

  • The present study was to develop a dry PFB method similar to the existing gypsum board construction method in order to apply the existing wet PFB method that uses fire.resistant adhesive. It was found that the existing wet method can produce concrete compressive strength of 80MPa and fire resistance of 3 hours with 30mm PF boards. The goal of development in this study was fire resistance of 3 hours through dry construction of 15mm fire.resistant boards.According to the results of fire resistance test, when the dry PF method was applied, the temperature of the main reinforcing bar was 116$^{\circ}$C in 15mm, 103.8$^{\circ}$C in 20mm, and 94$^{\circ}$C in 25mm, and these results satisfied the current standards for fire resistance control presented by the Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs. When a 3.hour fire resistance test was performed and the external properties of the specimen were examined, the outermost gypsum board hardly remained and internal PF board maintained its form without thermal strain.

영상정보용 공용데이터링크 표준화 발전방향

  • 미래 전에서는 정보의 중요성이 더욱 부각되고 있으며 정보의 수집 및 전파, 정확한 지휘결심 및 전파, 기동타격체계의 통제 등으로 이어지는 지휘통제의 전 과정을 유기적으로 연결하여, 그 성능을 극대화시키는 것이 네트워크 중심전(NCW: Net-Centric Warfare)의 개념이다. NCW 실현을 위해 개발중인 여러 체계 중 주목 받고 있는 것이 무인기(UAV: Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) 이다. 무인기는 감시정찰, 고정밀 타격, 그리고 전투피해평가 기능 등을 수행하며, 전술적인 상황인식이 가능하게 한다. 무인기가 이러한 임무를 수행하기 위해서는 비행체의 상태정보, 비행체의 조종통제정보, 그리고 임무 탑재체가 획득한 정보의 간단없고 정확한 전달이 요구된다. 이러한 정보를 전송하기 위한 비행체와 지상체간의 제반 통신을 데이터 링크(Data Link)라 하며, NCW 구현에 있어서 가장 핵심이 되는 요소이다. 세계 각국은 영상정보 수집자산으로서 무인기와 데이터링크의 개발에 박차를 가하고 있는 실정이며, 우리 군도 전력화가 계획된 각 제대별 무인기의 통합운용을 위한 영상정보 공용데이터 링크 (MPI-CDL: Multi-Platform Image and Intelligence Commom Data Link)를 개발중에 있으며 지속적인 영상정보 수집자산의 소요증가에 따른 주파수 획득문제와 사업별 독자적인 데이터 링크의 개발을 지양하고 기존체계와의 상호운용 및 단절없는 통신을 보장을 위해 개발과 동시에 국가적 차원에서의 기술구조 표준화가 추진되어야 한다. 이러한 시점에서 본고에서는 먼저 선진국의 (CDL : Commom Data Link) 표준화 동향을 알아보고, 상호운용성과 연동을 위한 한국형 MPI-CDL 기술 표준화방향을 제시하고자 한다.

Intrusion-Tolerant Jini Service Architecture for Enhancing Survivability of Ubiquitous Services (유비쿼터스 서비스 생존성 제고를 위한 침입감내 Jini 서비스 구조)

  • Ubiquitous service environment is poor in reliability of connection and has a high probability that the intrusion and the system failure may occur. Therefore, in the environment, the capability of a system to collectively accomplish its mission in spite of active intrusions and various failure scenarios, that is, the survivability of services are needed. In this paper, we analyze the Jgroup/ARM framework that was developed in order to help the development of fault- tolerant Jini services. More importantly, we propose an intrusion-tolerant Jini service architecture to satisfy the security availability and quality of services on the basis of the analysis. The proposed architecture is able to protect a Jini system not only from faults such as network partitioning or server crash, but also from attacks exploiting flaws. It is designed to provides performance enough to show a low response latency so as to support seamless service usage. Through the experiment on a test-bed, we have confirmed that the architecture is able to provide high security and availability at the level that degraded services quality is ignorable.

A Study on Fabrication and Characterization of Inorganic Insulation Material by Hydrothermal Synthesis Method (1) (수열합성법을 이용한 무기계 단열소재 제조방법 및 특성에 관한 연구 (1))

  • In this study, the inorganic insulating material was fabricated with quartzite, ordinary portland cement(OPC), lime and anhydrous gypsum. After characteristic analysis of slurry, the optimum mixing ratio was derived with different $CaO/SiO_2$ mole ratio. Based on derived mixing ratio, the inorganic insulating material was fabricated at different water content and hydrothermal synthesis conditions. Specific gravity was $0.26g/cm^3$, compressive strength was 0.4 MPa, and thermal conductivity was 0.064 W/mK. This properties were enhanced performance of conventional ALC (Autoclaved Lightweight Concrete). And it can replace organic insulation with harmless inorganic insulation through continues research and development.
