The Development of The Simulation Environment for Operating a Simultaneous Man/Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Teaming (유/무인 항공기 복합운용체계 검증을 위한 시뮬레이션 환경 구축)

  • This research illustrates how the simulation environment for operating the simultaneous man/unmanned aerial vehicle teaming is constructed. X-Plane program, HILS for the ducted fan aircraft (unmanned) and CTLS (manned aircraft) with communication devices are interfaced to simulate the basic co-operational flight. The X-plane and HILS can allow operators to experience the maned and unmanned aircraft operation in the airspace on the ground in turn they can perform various simulated missions in advance before the actual flight. For the test purpose, the data link between man/unmanned aircraft and ground control station is examined using C Band and UHF radio channels by the manned aircraft.

  • This paper describes a system design of Launch Ground Complex for the Korea Space Launch Vehicle-I which will play so important roles of successful execution for Korea National Space Development Program. Launch Ground Complex has to supply safe work space, construction and equipments for assembling, check-out and launching of the space launch vehicle, and it consists of Mechanical, Electrical, Fluid Ground Support Equipment and Infrastructure. Mechanical Ground Support Equipment consists of Launch Pad, Mobile Assembly Tower, Umbilical Tower, Lightning Tower, Theodolite Building and Auxiliary.

  • Currently, one of the main purposes of the military using Unmanned Air System (VAS) is to perform surveillance and reconnaissance of hostile enemy. To carry out their mission, Unmanned aerial vechicle (UAV) transmits video images to ground control station using ISR devices installed on the UAV. After receiving the images, the ground control station distribute them to various type of users. At this case, it is important to keep QoS. This paper presents data delivery and QoS managements using DDS for DDS for UAV video images. The experiment result, based on H.264 and JPEG2000, shows that DDS standard is able to be applied to video image transmission for UAS.

  • Radiated emission / susceptibility performance of the KSLV-I 2nd stage which are controlled from the unit level to the system level should be examined and managed all over the frequency ranges in order to ensure the normal operation of the SC, the 1st stage of the KSLV-I, ground support equipments which are installed at the space center, and other wireless communication networks. Not only unintentional electric field emissions from the KSLV-I system and its subsystems should be restricted to the levels less than the limits specified in the EMC requirements, but also proper test and evaluation method should be established, respectively. In this paper, radiated emission/susceptibility test limits, method, and test results of the KSLV-I 2nd stage engineering model are presented.

  • 위성체와 발사체 사이에는 임무설계접속, 기계접속, 전기접속, 환경접속 등 다양한 접속이 존재한다. 본 논문은 2004년 1월 수행된 발사체 전기접속 시험을 통하여 검증한 다목적 실용위성 2호와 ROCKOT 발사체간 전기접속과 발사장에서의 위성체, 발사체, 지상지원 장비 및 임무통제센터를 포함한 주변 지원시설간 접속을 기술하였다. 본 시험의 목적은 KIA(KOMPSAT-2 Interface Assembly)를 포함한 발사체 TMS(Telemetry Measure ment System)와 다목적실용위성 2호 사이의 호환성을 검증하고 LV TMS와 위성체 LSTS (Launch Support & Test Set)의 하드웨어 및 소프트웨어의 정확한 동작을 검증하는 것이다.   • With the growth of airline management, as well as computer and IT security, the international trade in this modern society has been rapidly increasing, Along with the advancing, airplanes have become a universal means of communication. However, the complications associated with airplane safety have also been brought up as a result, the most concerning of which is terrorism. One of the main counterplans for preventing terrorism is Ground security activities the core of Ground security activities is absolute safety for passengers in both passenger terminal and freight terminal. Subastral security refers to physical protection, proximity control and 100% security search and freight guarding of the passengers' possessions, and the personnel's duties to perform such jobs are be! coming more crucial. On the other hand, Airport security check has bee n gradually developing since the 1960's, when hijacking began to take place. Although the airports have been providing more safe and comfortable services to their customers, terrorism is still happening today. When Ground security activities is minute, the users feel displeasure and discomfort, yet considering solely their convenience can brings problems in achieving safety. Since the 9.11 terror in 2001, the idea of improving and strengthening airport security was reinforced and a considerable amount of estate is being spent today for invention and application of new technology. Various nations, including the United States, have been improving their systems of security through public services; public police department is actively carrying out their duties in airports as well. In San Francisco International Airport, private police department is in charge of collection of data, national events, VIP protection, law enforcement, cooperation within facilities, daily-based patrol and traffic control. Under guidance and supervision of national organizations, such as TSA, general police department interprets X-Rays, operates metal detectors, checks passports or IDs and observes reactions to explosives. Under these circumstances, studies about advancement of cooperation and duties of general police department and private police department necessitated: especially about private police department and their training for searching equipments, decrease in number of turn over rate, invention of technology and prior settlement in estate for security. The privacy of the public, who make up the major population of airport passengers, must also be minimized. In the following research, the activities of police departments in San Francisco International Airport will be analyzed in order to understand recent actions of the United States on airport security.

국립고흥청소년우주체험센터의 우주체험시설을 이용한 교육현황 및 계획

  • 국립고흥청소년우주체험센터는, 우리나라 청소년들에게 우주에서 벌어지는 제반 현상과 천체의 실상을 접하게 하고 또 그 현상과 천체 이면에 자리한 기본 원리를 체험과 실험을 통하여 스스로 터득하게 함으로써 저들을 우주시대를 이끌어갈 창조적 인재로 양성함을 목적으로, 2010년 7월 9일에 개원한 특성화 체험 국립 시설입니다. 우리나라 청소년들이 센터에 설치된 주요 우주체험장비 7종을 활용하여 우주왕복선과 우주정거장에서의 임무수행을 경험하며, 우주왕복선 지상통제센터 요원의 역할 및 우주선이나 항공기의 직접 조종도 체험 할수 있다. 또한 달의 저중력 상황을 체험해 볼 수 있다. 지름 15미터의 천체투영관이 12월 말에 완공될 예정이다. 하늘전망대에는 구경 14인치 광학망원경과 다수의 중소형 망원경들이 설치된다. 또한 우주인 기초체력단련훈련을 할 수 있는 야외 활동 공간을 확보하고 있다. 센터의 우주체험시설과 천문학 관련 시설들은 앞으로 청소년의 우주에 대한 관심을 유발하고 국민들의 과학에 대한 이해를 돕는데 크게 기여할 것으로 기대된다. 현재 4개의 과정으로 우주체험캠프 프로그램을 구성하여 운영하고 있다. 또한, 2009년 개정 지구과학 교육과정과 연계한 우주체험프로그램을 개발 중이다. 여기서는 본 센터의 우주체험시설물 소개와 이들을 활용한 체험활동과 교육 현황 및 계획을 소개하고자 한다.

  • Unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs) operating in the military for various purposes are designed to transmit information collected according to the purpose to GCS(Ground Control System), and to transmit/receive the vehicle's operational control and status information using wireless communication(or datalink). Currently, the military UAV systems in operation in Korea use unique communication methods, protocols, and message structures for each system. In this paper, we analyze the TM/TC data protocol of two types of military UAV systems currently under development and propose a more efficient TM/TC message design scheme in wireless communication(or datalink) environment. And we will discuss issues to be considered for standardization of technology for ensuring interoperability with many UAVs or newly introduced UAV systems.

  • This paper proposes a case study of applying to DO-278A, which is a software development standard of ground aviation equipment in communication, navigation, surveillance/air traffic management (CNS/ATM) domain, in order to develop software of Advanced surface movement, guidance and control system (A-SMGCS). It explains considerations to application of DO-278A standard, discusses how to tailor processes or requirements specified in DO-278A in detail, and explain tailored results. And it also summary problems or issues occurred during application of DO-278A, which can be appeared when DO-278A is applied to for the first time by any development part. These are required considerations in order to reduce trial and error. To the conclusion, it explains lessons learned from application of DO-278A and suggest how to solve these problems or issues.

  • A UAV(Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) flies along pre-programed navigation points(in-flight, take-off, or landing) automatically without pilot input. Even though UAVs fly differently from general piloted aircraft as the pilot controls the aircraft from a ground station through means of a data-link system. Occasionally, the data-link connection can be lost for any number of reasons, in which case, the FLCC(Flight control Computer) must automatically switch to autopilot to continue flying. Hence, the FLCC is a flight-critical component that must be throughly tested and validated. This paper discusses the development of a HILS(Hardware in the Loop Simulation) test environment designed to simulate real flight conditions to verify the FLCC satisfies flying quality requirements and maintains robustness despite any potential malfunctions or emergency situations.
