Qualitative Level of the Korean and American Journal Paper (우리나라 학술지의 질에 관한 연구)

  • The object of this study is to compare qualitative level of the Korean and American journal paper by faculty members in Korea. To achieve this object, the data was produced by the questionnaires from professors of the Chonbuk National University. The major conclusions are summarized as follows : 1. As a whole, American journal is evaluated better than Korean Journal. The greatest difference between Korean journal and American journal is that the American journal is more original and useful than Korean journal. 2. This study shows that American journal which deals with veterinary science is highly valuable and with living science is low. In Korean journal, the appropriateness of format is highly valuable. 3. The respondents who had studied in America for more than two years evaluate American Journal more excellent than those for less than two years. 4. Regardless of the periods of study in America, however, most of respondents evaluate American journal better than Korean Journal in all parts.

Comparison of Pre- and In-service Elementary School Teachers' PCK about Questioning in Mathematics Class (수학적 발문에 대한 초등학교 예비교사와 현직교사의 PCK 비교)

  • This study intended to draw some suggests for the development of mathematics teachers' expertise through the comparison research of pre-service and in-service teachers' PCK about questioning in elementary mathematics class. For this purpose, questionnaire survey was conducted to some pre-service and in-service teachers about the PCK concerning the way how questioning during mathematics class. This survey revealed the following implications. First, from the perspective of mathematics classroom, it is still more important the practical knowledge about how to teach which is evolutionally developed passing through the experience and currier of teaching than theoretical knowledge itself. Comparing the teachers' PCK about the two related knowledge types of mathematics contents, in case of procedural knowledge related PCK it was more asked of teachers' expertise than the case of conceptual knowledge related PCK. Thirdly, in case of learners' incorrect answer, for the desirable teaching it should be a questioning focused on whether there being or not the systematic among the learners' incorrect answer, and in case of appreciating the learners' understanding about the presently taught contents the questioning should be constructed considering the relevant contents early learned.

Meta analysis on the improvement of academic performance by the teaching method for underachievers of learning mathematics (수학학습부진아 지도방법에 따른 학업성취도 향상에 대한 메타연구)

  • Despite the trend of the times and the government's efforts to implement policies, a number of students, having difficulties in learning math, are still growing. Reflecting this, many studies related to underachiever of learning mathematics were conducted in the field of mathematics education. Most of these studies, however, were intended to find the cause of underachievers of learning mathematics or experimental studies that applied the specific teaching procedures to the underachievers of learning mathematics and found their effectiveness in terms of academic achievement, compared it beforehand. Thus, in this study, 49 studies, from including theses and published journal papers from 2001, were meta-analyzed to find out how effective the teaching treatment for underachievers of learning mathematics has improved academic performance. As a result of this analysis, we found that teaching treatment generally have moderate effect sizes for children with having difficulties in learning mathematics. It was also possible to analyze the effect of various interventions and to obtain some suggestions on which circumstances the greatest effect could be achieved. Teaching treatments for underachiever of learning mathematics could have greater effectiveness in elementary school level, institution certified testing tool was used, targeted for each individual, taught by peer student, lasted for at least 8 weeks, and using teaching aids and ICT tools.

Effects of Blended Learning on Abilities to Use Smart-Phone and Applications among Students with Intellectual Disabilities (블랜디드 러닝이 지적장애 학생의 스마트 폰과 애플리케이션 사용 능력에 미치는 효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze effects of blended learning on abilities to use smart-phone and applications among students with intellectual disabilities. To do this, 30 students with intellectual disabilities who were enrolled in special school and special classroom in Jellanam-do and Gwanju metropolitan city were selected for this study, and were placed experimental and control groups of 15 students. The experimental group was provided with blended learning in which direct instruction, anchored instruction, experience activities, and community-based instruction were combined, and the control group was provided with traditional teacher-centered lecture style intervention. Pre-, post-, and maintenance evaluations were conducted two weeks after intervention. The collected data was analyzed the repeated two-way ANOVA. In the result of study, the experimental group improved on abilities to use smart-phone and applications than control group. Blended learning is a teaching method that can be a usefully used when educating how to use smart-phone and applications to students with intellectual disabilities.

Contents analyses of teaching·learning research on housing education of home economics for secondary schools (중등학교 주생활교육 교수·학습 개발연구 내용분석)

  • The purpose of this research was to analyze the contents of housing teaching learning studies in Home Economics of secondary schools since 2001. The 22 research, drawn from the database 'riss4u', were analyzed in terms of general information of the paper (studied institution & year, implementation & evaluation, subject of study & size) and specific contents of teaching learning plans (theme, curricula & textbooks, methode & # of lessons, resources). The results showed that most studies were reported during the 7th or the 2007 revised curricula period. All, except one doctoral dissertation, were master's theses from a few universities. In all studies, ranging from 2 to 15 lessons, teaching learning plans were implemented and evaluated in the class of the researcher while some were applied in other schools, too. The theme of the teaching learning plans varied but were concentrated on one out of two content elements and two out of six learning elements. The 2007 revised curriculum seems to be an important turning point, not only reinforcing the analyses of the curricular and textbooks in the analyzing stage but also facilitating the use of various methods for the lessons in the developing stage. Practical problem based model was the most frequently adopted, while cooperative learning and ICT served as fundamental although not always mentioned. Various teaching resources such as UCC, reading materials, PPT were developed for the teacher. Activity sheets were the most frequently used for the students, followed by reading materials. Because teaching learning is an essential core of education, teaching learning studies should be more actively conducted and the variety of subject topics, methods and resources should also be obtained by more researchers.

  • The aim of this study is to look into the didactical background for introducing the concept of multiplication and teaching multiplication facts in elementary school mathematics and offer suggestions to improve teaching multiplication in the future. In order to attain these purposes, this study deduced and examined concepts of multiplication, situations involving multiplication, didactical models for multiplication and multiplication strategies based on key ideas with respect to the didactical background on teaching multiplication through a theoretical consideration regarding various studies on multiplication. Based on such examination, this study compared and analyzed textbooks used in the United States, Finland, the Netherlands, Germany and South Korea. In the light of such theoretical consideration and analytical results, this study provided implication for improving teaching multiplication in elementary schools in Korea as follows: diversifying equal groups situations, emphasizing multiplicative comparison situations, reconsidering Cartesian product situations for providing situations involving multiplication, balancing among the group model, array model and line model and transposing from material models to structured and formal ones in using didactical models for multiplication, emphasizing multiplication strategies and properties of multiplication and connecting learned facts and new facts with one another for teaching multiplication facts.

  • In this paper, we first exam the relation between Piaget's theory of cognitive development and cognitive constructivism. With it's outcome We find three principles of constructivist teaching-learning methods for primary mathematics These are as follows 1) active learning based on self-regulatory process 2) empirical learning by self initiated activities 3) individual learning derived from present cognitive structure and fits of new experiences. Finally we introduce several examples for classroom practice applied the above principles in primary mathematics.

대학교육서비스 마케팅모형 구축에 관한 연구

  • WTO체제의 등장과 더불어 전세계는 단일 시장화를 지향하면서 경쟁에 입각한 생존경쟁 이 치열해지고 있다. 이러한 세계적 조류는 국내적으로 영리조직뿐만 아니라 비영리조직까 지도 경쟁력 향상을 통한 생존과 발전을 추구하게 하고 있다. 본 연구는 이러한 관점에서 대학교육서비스 질의 개선을 통한 대학발전을 위해 마케팅모 형을 구축하는데 그 주요 목적을 두었다. 본 연구는 이러한 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 기존의 대학발전을 위한 학자 및 평론 가 등의 국내외 문헌과 연구논문을 참고하여 오늘날 대학교육환경의 변화양상을 살펴보고 이러한 환경변화 속에서 교육서비스 마케팅의 필요성을 고찰하고 대학교육서비스 마케팅모 형 구축의 결정요인을 도출하였으며 이들 요인에 의한 가설을 설정하였다. 이를 검증하기 위해 부산과 경남지역의 국 공립대학 및 사립대학을 합쳐 10개 대학의 교수(216명)와 학생(356명)을 대상으로 설문조사하고 실증분석을 하였다. 실증분석의 결과를 롱하여 본 연구는 대학교육서비스 마케팅모형의 발전적 시사점을 도출하여, 대학의 교수와 교직원이 고객지향성, 시장지향성을 견지하면서 교육서비스 질을 개 선하고 나아가서는 고객만족과 재구매 의도를 강화하여 대학의 생존과 발전을 위한 대학의 경쟁적 발전방향을 제시하였다.
