Lane Detection for Adaptive Control of Autonomous Vehicle (지능형 자동차의 적응형 제어를 위한 차선인식)

  • Currently, most automobile companies are interested in research on intelligent autonomous vehicle. They are mainly focused on driver's intelligent assistant and driver replacement. In order to develop an autonomous vehicle, lateral and longitudinal control is necessary. This paper presents a lateral and longitudinal control system for autonomous vehicle that has only mono-vision camera. For lane detection, we present a new lane detection algorithm using clothoid parabolic road model. The proposed algorithm in compared with three other methods such as virtual line method, gradient method and hough transform method, in terms of lane detection ratio. For adaptive control, we apply a vanishing point estimation to fuzzy control. In order to improve handling and stability of the vehicle, the modeling errors between steering angle and predicted vanishing point are controlled to be minimized. So, we established a fuzzy rule of membership functions of inputs (vanishing point and differential vanishing point) and output (steering angle). For simulation, we developed 1/8 size robot (equipped with mono-vision system) of the actual vehicle and tested it in the athletics track of 400 meter. Through the test, we prove that our proposed method outperforms 98 % in terms of detection rate in normal condition. Compared with virtual line method, gradient method and hough transform method, our method also has good performance in the case of clear, fog and rain weather.

  • For the realization of future intelligent transportation systems, fine-grained lane-by-lane traffic monitoring and control functionalities are among the most important technology barriers to overcome. To satisfy the accuracy requirement for traffic monitoring, a GNSS receiver network is designed. The designed receiver network consists of three different types of entities; reference server, broadcaster, and client. For deployment flexibility, all the entities utilize the international message standard RTCM SC-104 version 3.0. For fine-grained traffic monitoring, the client is designed to utilize position-domain carrier-smoothed-code filters to provide accurate vehicle coordinates in spite of frequent addages and outages of visible satellites. An experiment result is presented to evaluate the positioning accuracy of the proposed method.

  • 복합분자펌프는 기존의 터보분자펌프 turbine blade에 spiral grooved를 추가하여 초고진공(10-8 Pa)에서 저진공(330Pa)까지 넓은 압력범위에서 사용할 수 있고 이 펌프를 사용함으로서 완전 oil free한 진공시스템을 만들 수 있는 특징을 가지고 있다. 특히, 회전체를 비접촉으로 지지하는 자기베어링 방식을 적용함으로써, 진동은 극히 작고 베어링수명은 길면서 중저진공에 대한 배기속도가 크고 임의의 방향으로 접속이 가능하여 반도체 및 디스플레이 제조 공정과 같은 첨단산업의 다양한 분야에 쉽게 적용되고 있으며, 그 적용 분야와 시장은 계속 성장하고 있다. 고 진공과 배기 속도의 달성을 위해서, 고속으로 이동하는 격면과 기체분자를 충돌시켜, 기체 분자를 원하는 방향으로 유도하는 작동원리를 가지고 있다. 특히 공기분자의 밀도가 매우 낮은 희박가스 상태에서 고속 회전하는 blade로 공기분자를 쳐 내면서 작동됨으로써 날개의 상하 압력차에 의한 공기력보다도 날개의 고속회전이 매우 중요시 되고 압력으로는 10-1 Pa 이하의 분자영역에서 그 성능을 최고로 발휘 할 수 있다. 이러한 복합 펌프의 주요 장점은 다음과 같다. 1. 10-8 Pa (10-10torr)~10 Pa (1 torr) 까지 넓은 영역에서 배기가 가능하다. 2. 탄화수계의 대하여 높은 압축특성을 가지고 있고, 윤활유를 사용하지 않으므로 얻을 수 있는 진공상태가 고청정하다(oil free). 3. 정밀 5축제어 자기베어링으로 완전히 부상하여 회전함으로서 마모가 없고 진동이 최소화하였을 뿐만 아니라, 또한 운전음도 거의 없다. 4. 설치조건에 제한이 없고 고장이 거의 없다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 복합분자펌프의 개발을 위하여, 상기 연구기관에서 수행된 내용을 소개하고 있으며, 펌프 시스템의 기본 설계 및 자기베어링 시스템의 설계 결과 및 수치해석 결과를 나타내었다.

A Fusion of Vehicle Sensors and Inter-Vehicle Communications for Vehicular Localizations (자동차 센서와 자동차 간 통신의 융합 측위 알고리듬)

  • A vehicle localization technology is an essential component to support many smart-vehicle applications, e.g. collision warning, adaptive cruise control, and so on. In this paper, we present a new vehicle localization algorithm based on the fusion of the sensing estimates from the local sensors and the GPS estimates from the inter-vehicle communications. The proposed algorithm consists of the greedy location data mapping algorithm and the position refinement algorithm. The former maps a sensing estimate with a GPS estimate based on the distance between themselves, and then the latter refines the GPS estimate of the subject vehicle based on the law of large numbers. From the numerical results, we demonstrate that the accuracy of the proposed algorithm outperforms that of the existing GPS estimates by at least 30 % in the longitudinal direction and by at least 60% in the lateral direction.

  • The Internet of Things era is approaching where all the things are equipped with smart sensors and communicate through internet. The three core technologies of the Internet of Things are 'detection technology' to get information from things and the environment, 'wired and wireless communications and network infrastructure skills' that support to connect things to the internet, and 'service interface technology' that processes the information appropriate to various services. Smart sensor application can expand to smartphone, smart cars, smart home systems, wearable electronic devices, telemedicine systems, and environmental monitoring systems, etc. In particular, technologies that mimic the five human senses. This study reviews the biological principles of the human senses and the principles of operation, research & development status, technology trends and market analysis of the sensors.

  • A non-functional requirement is a property or quality that the proposed systems have to support the functional requirements. A non-functional requirement is reflected by quality attribute These non-functional requirements playa crucial role during system development, serving as selection criteria for choosing among decisions. It should be continuously considered through the software development process. In spite of the importance of the non-functional requirements, it received little attention because of ambiguousness and invisibility of non-functional requirements. Therefore non-functional model which is a process to analyze the non-functional requirement is proposed for improving the management efficiency of non-functional requirements. Also, this paper presents the trace among the UML diagrams to the conceptual model. According to the non-functional requirement development process, this paper achieved performance-based case study. After then, non-functional requirement should be traced using the UML diagrams.

  • In this paper, a performance evaluation model of the Fat-tree Network with the multiple-buffered crossbar switches is proposed and examined. Buffered switch technique is well known to solve the data collision problem of the switch network. The proposed evaluation model is developed by investigating the transfer patterns of data packets in a switch with output-buffers. Two important parameters of the network performance, throughput and delay, are then evaluated. The proposed model takes simple and primitive switch networks, i.e., no flow control and drop packet, to demonstrate analysis procedures clearly. It, however, can not only be applied to any other complicate modern switch networks that have intelligent flow control but also estimate the performance of any size networks with multiple-buffered switches. To validate the proposed analysis model, the simulation is carried out on the various sizes of Fat-tree networks that uses the multiple buffered crossbar switches. Less than 2% differences between analysis and simulation results are observed.

  • The modular robot is one which was developed to get over limit of the space movement for the mobile robot. The chain type robot in particular is connected by series each other and this form expression method is simple and easy to really make a docking method efficiently. However, the related studies were focused on the movement that used to be combination, and the movement of a cell independent mainly does not consist and have a problem to dock only in a direction, not to be connected with all directions. Therefore, we suggested a modular structure for quick, independent movement to solve such a problem and had own autonomy. In addition, we are intended to get some effectiveness for connection mechanism using one locking motor. In this paper, we dealt with the design for the mechanical and electrical points and docking algorithm including communication method. All of the structure is verified with real action experiment through the shape expressions of various application platform.

  • This research is concerned with the development of a real-time adaptive PPF controller for the active vibration suppression of smart structure. In general, the tuning of the PPF controller is carried out off-line. In this research, the real-time learning algorithm is developed to find the optimal filter frequency of the PPF controller in real time and the efficacy of the algorithm is proved by implementing it in real time. To this end, the adaptive algorithm is developed by applying the gradient descent method to the predefined performance index, which is similar to the method used popularly in the optimization and neural network controller design. The experiment was carried out to verify the validity of the adaptive PPF controller developed in this research. The experimental results showed that adaptive PPF controller is effective for active vibration control of the structure which is excited by either impact or harmonic disturbance. The filter frequency of the PPF controller can be tuned in a very short period of time thus proving the efficiency of the adaptive PPF controller.

  • In this paper, we designed and made a bicycle with tangible interface using a game to make a tangible interface for health-care system. In particular, through a survey of the preference of users, we have showed a tangible machine which is possible to recognize users' control as a form of tangible interface, have presented the controllable method of a game contents, have provided the contents reality maximized using game AI and game physics.
