Study on Application Fields and Basic Characteristics of Ubiquitous Computing Technologies in a Ship (유비쿼터스 기술의 선박 적용 분야 개발 및 기초 특성 연구)

  • The object of this paper is to describe the ubiquitous computing technologies for ship, which is produced and assembled by many steel blocks. It includes the testing of a 2.4GHz wireless communications platforms and radio-frequency identification technology with the blocks disturbing the wireless communication. The power line communication that is established in a ship already is also experimented for some data transfer. Also, possible application areas of the ubiquitous computing technology to ships are discussed. At last, the test bed copied from an actual vessel was installed and data acquisition tests were established using wire and wireless communication. In this paper, we implemented some ubiquitous computing technologies in the test bed simulating a ship environment and investigated the basic characteristics of ubiquitous computing technologies.

Distributed Multi-Hop Multicast Transmission Scheme for Low-Power and Low-Complexity Wireless Devices (저 전력 저 복잡도 무선 기기를 위한 분산적인 다중 홉 멀티 캐스트 중계 기법)

  • Distributed relay scheme for wireless ad hoc multi-hop multicast network composed of low-power and low-complexity wireless devices with high density is proposed. The proposed relay scheme is shown to be better than flooding, which is the distributed relay scheme applied to ZigBee, in the outage probability and the multicast transmission rate by simulations.

  • The modern people effort to lead good life. Specially, the patients which prevention of a disease only is cure from this diabetes patient, the old and weak, the hospitals needing a treatment through exercises, and receive medical treatment in houses cure exercise according to exercise prescription. These papers developed a Ubiquitous Care Management system based on Zigbee. This is a system supporting so as accumulation manages the exercise history information that occurred when get exercises prescription, and exercise systematically, and to do preventive of a disease. Can confirm own exercise history and health information through web pages, and this system notifies contents about an exercise treatment to patients as use a cellular phone.

  • As information and communication technologies develop, many studies are being conducted to maintain an efficient production environment by applying network and computing technologies to existing production systems. Unlike classical control systems, these smart production systems need to collect data about the production environment in real time, and operate fluidly as it changes. In this paper, we present a measurement system that can collect data in real time through network-based sensors and respond effectively to environmental changes. We also proved this smart system can cope with external environmental changes and maintain an effective production environment.

  • Recently, we are increasing an interest of the health care from the developing elderly society. The need for the safety standardization is the High-tech industry that the technology of Medical science based on advanced nations with the wireless communication technology. It is urgent matter the chronic disease that is growing the total costs is everyday increased. We consider the standardization of the monitoring the medical examination based on the medical science environment with wireless communication technology. In addition, we make the environment of the powerful nation based on medical / patient care technology for the supporting of the high quality service. In this paper, we focus on description of the relationship that convergence of the medical / patient care science is need the component based on wireless communication technology.

  • Due to intense climate changes and extreme weather conditions a noticeable decrease has been observed in the growth of certain plants. The indoor plant factories would have certain benefits including increase in crop yield, reduction in distribution cost, and maintains the healthy freshness level of the agricultural product. Recently, an artificial light source with optimum wavelength is spot lighted to fulfill the need of light for the indoor plant factories. The energy efficient light emitting diodes (LED) provide the essential light energy for the proper growth of indoor cultivated plants. This work focuses to utilize ubiquitous sensors network(USN) in providing suitable environment for the proper growth of agricultural product inside the indoor plant factory. The proposed system makes use of sensors and actuators, communicating each other through WPAN, ZigBee network. The proposed system obscured the traditional indoor plant factories with easy installation and wireless connectivity of the sensors and actuators along with eliminating the web of wires reducing the initial installation and maintenance cost.

Implementation of Precise Drone Positioning System using Differential Global Positioning System (차등 위성항법 보정을 이용한 정밀 드론 위치추적 시스템 구현)

  • This paper proposes a precise drone-positioning technique using a differential global positioning system (DGPS). The proposed system consists of a reference station for error correction data production, and a mobile station (a drone), which is the target for real-time positioning. The precise coordinates of the reference station were acquired by post-processing of received satellite data together with the reference station location data provided by government infrastructure. For the system's implementation, low-cost commercial GPS receivers were used. Furthermore, a Zigbee transmitter/receiver pair was used to wirelessly send control signals and error correction data, making the whole system affordable for personal use. To validate the system, a drone-tracking experiment was conducted. The results show that the average real-time position error is less than 0.8 m.

  • Large-scale petrochemical and power plants has increased demanting wireless technology for continuous monitoring. However, the current USN technologies, such as ZigBee and Bluetooth, are lackof reliability and security. Therefore, there is a strong need to apply a new wireless technology standard of the ISA. In this study, a petrochemicalplant safety management system based on the ISA wireless transmitter isdeveloped. ISA100.11a communication module and LTE communication module equippedwith an explosion-proof wireless transmitter are developed. A petrochemicalplant safety management system is built based on the IoT technologies. Thedeveloped system is verified through a wide range of testing and thus, on-siteapplicability is proved.

An Implementation of Mobile Gateway Based on Android Smartphone (안드로이드 스마트폰 기반의 모바일 게이트웨이 구현)

  • Zigbee is a wireless communication technology optimized for WSN (Wireless Sensor Network) environment. A WSN gateway is used for node control and data transmission. However, a fixed-type gateway can restrict the flexibility of the WSN environment. A smartphone-mounted high-performance processor and Android OS can be easily used in a mobile WSN gateway. In this paper, we proposed a mobile WSN gateway based on Android smartphones. In the proposed system, a Zigbee sensor module is connected with a smartphone via USB (Universal Serial Bus) port. We also implemented an Android application for the mobile WSN gateway.

  • 전력계통의 환경변화(분산전원 연계, 구역전기사업자 출연 등)에 능동적으로 대응할 소비자-공급자간 양방향 통신/서비스 인프라의 핵심으로 Consumer Energy Portal의 필요성이 점점 증대되고 있다. 이는 에너지 서비스 사업자와 수용가 설비 및 기기들 사이의 양방향 통신을 가능하게 하는 H/W 및 S/W의 결합 또는 수용가의 In-Building Network와 Wide-Access Network를 연결하는 물리적인 Link이자 논리적인 결합 등과 같은 의미를 지닌다. 즉, Consumer Energy Portal은 전력에너지 체인의 운영방식을 물리적인 것에서 웹 방식으로 전환한 것으로 전력사업자와 소비자 사이의 양방향 상호작용을 가능케 하고 최종 소비자의 모든 기기들을 서로 네트워킹하며 이를 통해 과거 물리적인 방식의 운영과는 차원이 다른 다양한 서비스와 운영이 가능하게 하는 Service Portal이다. 본 논문은 수용가의 실시간 원격검침 데이터를 지그비(ZigBee) 통신기술을 이용하여 수집하는 것과 물리적으로 연결된 설비들을 제어할 수 있는 양방향 Network Access 망을 구축하여 전력사업자의 통합자원관리, 수요관리, 부가서비스제공에 기여하고자 한다.
