A Study on On-The-Job Training Effects Based on the Perceptions of Employees from the Specialized High School (특성화 고교 출신 취업자의 인식에 기초한 현장 실습 효과 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to provide the basic data necessary to improve the planning and operations for an effective on-the-job training (OJT) by analyzing educational effects and deciding on a career for employment (DCE) effects of OJT based on the perceptions of employees from the specialized high school (SHS). The survey was performed with 301 employees who are working in the industrial institutions including the OJT, among the nation's specialized technical high school graduates. 240 questionnaires were analyzed. The major results of this study are as following. First, the effects of OJT are as following. The OJT have educational effects such as the improvement of job ability and adaptability to workplace, refinement of working life, and career guidance. However, the OJT almost don't have educational effects for contents in relation to the majors in SHS. The OJT had basic DCE effects on graduates, and consistently have had them since they graduated from SHS. Second, the difference of OJT effects by employees' background variables is as following. By the gender, the OJT have more educational effects and DCE effects on male than female. By the types of career decision before taking part in the OJT, the OJT has more educational effects and DCE effects on employees with a high degree of career decision. By the working life satisfaction, the higher working life satisfaction, the higher OJT effects. Therefore, the OJT should be operated to make students feel satisfied with the OJT in order to correspond with the purpose of specialized high school - cultivating talent in specific areas.

  • 지금의 사회봉사에 대해 사회 일각에서는 자원봉사를 제도화함으로써 봉사가 강용될 뿐만 아니라 형식적으로 이루어지고 있어 본래 의미를 퇴색시키고 있다는 비판도 있다. 그러나 다른 한편으로 그간의 산업사회의 폐해와 배금주의로 인해 실종된 봉사의 덕목을 소생하고 생활화하는 것은 민족공동체 회복을 위해 바람직하다는 공감대가 형성되고 있다. 특히 자원봉사가 각급학교 교육에 제도화되고 있는 만큼 초.중.고교와 대학의 사회봉사를 연계하여 체계화할 필요성이 크다.

A Study on Legal Limitations of Teachers' Right for Expression (초.중.고교 교원의 정치적 표현과 제한법리에 관한 탐색적 연구: '시국선언' 관련 판례를 중심으로)

  • This study examined how the Korean courts have made a balance between rights of school teachers' expression and the public interests derived from regulating their rights for expression in related cases. Under the Korean laws such as National Public Service Law and the Law on Assembly and Demonstration, school teachers are considered as civil servants and basically not allowed to assemble to demonstrate for their own interests. The analysis revealed that in 24 cases from a total of 31 teacher-related court cases, teachers were found guilty in violation of related laws. In deciding whether the teachers' participation on anti-government assembly was guilty or not, the courts put an emphasis on public purpose of their expression, the degree to which their expressions affect the society, and specific contents of their expression. Conclusively, it was found out that in applying the related law, Korean courts tend to overweigh the public interests, rather than the teachers' right to express.

A Study on High School-College Articulation according to the Results of Awareness Survey (인식조사를 기반으로 한 고교-대학 연계 방안 모색)

  • The purpose of this study was to make an empirical analysis of the influence of the participation of students in high school-college articulation programs during their high school days on their career or college entrance in an effort to explore how to ensure successful high school-college articulation to facilitate the normalization of public education. The subjects in this study were 371 students in a college and 62 high school teachers. After a survey was conducted, the following findings were given: As for the participation rate of high school-college articulation programs, the largest number of the students attended "college entrance presentations," and the second most popular programs were about major/career exploration. The participation rate of the girls was higher than that of the boys. As a result of comparing the impact of these programs on college entrance by different types of admission process, "college entrance counseling programs" exercised a larger influence on college entrance through the admission officer system. The teachers responded that "major/career exploration" was the high school-college articulation program which had the best effects on the normalization high school education and college admission. The findings of the study imply that it can make it possible to expedite the normalization of public education if diverse efforts are directed into high school-college articulation and its improvement.

Study on the Yips Current States and Coping Method in High School Baseball Player Through Convergence (융복합을 활용한 고교야구선수의 입스(yips)경험과 대처방법에 대한 현상적 분석)

  • The study is conducted to investigate the prevalence of a yips phenomenon in high school baseball players and provide the basis of its origin and an effective treatment intervention. Therefore, we survey 320 high school baseball players registered at Korea Baseball Association, excluding poorly answered 30 questionnaires. Utilizing PASW 20.0, the analysis of yips experiences and a coping method is carried out with descriptive statistics and ratio analysis. The results from the process above are as follows. The ratio of high school baseball players who experience yips reaches 64%, which is significantly high; experiencing yips, they have both physical and psychological problems; although they would have psychological trainings, few of them work, which implies that the discussion on yips prevention and coping methods for high school baseball players is imperative.

Ultrasonographic Findings of the Shoulder in Asymptomatic High School Baseball Players (무증상 고교 야구 선수의 견관절 초음파 소견)

  • Purpose: To evaluate the ultrasonographic (US) findings in both shoulders of asymptomatic high school baseball players and compare with healthy control. Materials and Methods: 42 individuals (age: $7.6{\pm}1.2$ years) participated in this study. We recruited two groups of high school male baseball players, 14 pitchers and 18 fielders without shoulder pain for recent 6 months as well as one control group of 10 untrained healthy high school students who were age-matched. Ultrasound measurements of thickness of the biceps and supraspinatus tendon and acromio-humral distance (AHD) at $0^{\circ}$ abduction were taken in dominant and nondominant shoulders. Results: On US examination, subacromial bursa effusion was observed in 7 of the dominant shoulders and in 2 of the nondominant shoulder of 32 baseball players and in none of the asymptomatic controls. The thickness of the biceps and supraspinatus tendons and AHD in both shoulders were significantly greater in the baseball players than in the controls (p<0.05). We also found that the biceps and supraspinatus tendon thickness and AHD of the dominant shoulder were significantly greater than the non-dominant shoulder in baseball players (p<0.05), but there were no differences between pitchers and fielders and between healthy controls. Conclusion: Subacromial effusion could be found even in the asymptomatic stage and the thickness of the biceps and supraspinatus tendons and AHD were significantly greater in the baseball players than in the healthy controls. Our data is useful reference guide for the ultrasonographic diagnosis of shoulder pathologies occurring in high school baseball players.

The Effect of Pre-primary Teachers' Gender and Earth Science Completion on the Concept of 'Seasonal Change' (초등예비교사의 성별 및 지구과학 이수 여부가 '계절변화' 개념에 미치는 효과)

  • This study is to investigate the effect of pre-primary teachers' gender and earth science completion while attending high school on the diversity of concepts, the level of conceptual understanding, and misconceptions about seasonal changes. This study was conducted with 71 pre-primary teachers. The conclusion of this study is as follows. First, the area of concepts used by pre-primary teachers to explain seasonal changes showed a greater difference depending on whether or not they completed earth science while attending high school, rather than depending on gender. Second, although there was no significant gender difference in the conceptual level of pre-primary teachers for seasonal change, the group who completed earth science while attending high school had a statistically significantly higher level of conceptual understanding than the group that did not complete it. Third, the ratio of misconceptions related to seasonal change of pre-primary teachers by gender was not significant, but the group who did not complete earth science while attending high school had a statistically significantly higher percentage of misconceptions than the group that completed it. As a result of the above examination, it is judged that the area of concepts, the level of conceptual understanding, and the misconceptions about seasonal changes of pre-primary teachers are more affected by the completion of earth science courses during high school than by gender differences.

Exploring Operational Directions to Solve the Problem of High School Credit System (고교학점제도 문제점 해결을 위한 운영 방향 탐색)

  • The purpose of this study was to help solve the problems of the high school credit system by exploring its operation plans for both career guidance and the effective and efficient operation of the high school credit system. The study's research method was literature research; it examined prior research, public hearings, press releases, the 2015 revised curriculum, and plans to promote the high school credit system by the Ministry of Education. To solve the problems facing the high school credit system, the curriculum should be organized as follows. First, it should be organized around general subjects. Second, students need to be able to study subjects related to their desired fields in depth. Third, it is necessary to confirm the basis for organizing the curriculum. Meanwhile, the following steps should be taken to improve the operation of the high school credit system for career guidance. First, a career curriculum committee for career learning and coaching should be formed and operationalized. Second, the teachers' work system should be restructured. Third, career aspirations should be identified, and directions for further study should be researched. Fourth, career and academic design guidance coaching books should be provided. Fifth, it is the role of the career and academic design guidance teacher. Sixth, emphasis should be placed on responsibility for subject selection and preparation for re-taking program.
