Characteristics of Process-Focused Assessment Examples in Elementary School Science Education (초등 과학과 과정중심 평가문항 예시 자료의 특징)

  • This study analyzed how characteristics of process-focused assessment are implemented in the distributed process-focused assessment examples in elementary school science education. To this end, through a review of previous studies, the analysis perspectives on the characteristics of the process-focused assessment were extracted into six categories. Using the analysis framework, it was described how process-focused assessment examples in elementary school science education developed by metropolitan office of education reflected the characteristics of process-focused assessment. As a result of the study, the characteristics of process-focused assessment were often formally reflected in sample materials. For example, there was a lack of skills on how to effectively integrate instruction and evaluation in practical terms. In many cases, feedback simply induced a recall of a learned concept or simply guides a related scientific concept. In some cases, the characteristics of process-focused assessment did not appear prominently in the sample materials. Also the developed sample materials were divided into the same type as the existing science and performance assessment questionnaire, a narrative·essay type, and a type similar to experimental workbook.

Information Domain Curriculum Composition Direction in Subject-Centered Curriculum (교과중심 교육과정에서의 정보영역 교육과정 구성 방향)

  • This study is about the direction of how to compose the information domain curriculum in the domestic subject matter centered curriculum system. To this end, subject-centered and competency-centered curriculum were compared and analyzed, and how the information domain was organized in two types was suggested. In spite of emphasizing competency, the domestic curriculum was judged to be inclined to the subject-centered curriculum because it emphasized the presentation of national-level educational goals, a subject learning model, and textbooks. As examples of the information domain subject-centered curriculum, the information domain of the elementary practical subject and the middle school information curriculum were presented, and the SW convergence curriculum was presented as an example of a progressive curriculum. Under such circumstances, it was emphasized that in order for the learner to lead a life in an intelligent society in the future through the information domain including SWAI content, it must be explicitly described in a subject-centered perspective with computer science as the parent study.

  • The main paradigm of the Korean Public Administration has been the executive-centered one. Recently, with political democratization, the role of the National Assembly in public administration has been expected higher than that of the past. This study aims to introduce the legislative-centered public administration theory, which is an alternative perspective to the dominant executive-centered public administration theory. First, it reviews the discussions of the early thoughts of the legislative-centered public administration, such as Woodrow Wilson, Willoughby, Merriam, and presents Rosenbloom's comprehensive arguments. Second, it examines historical developments of building the legislative-centered public administration in the United States. Third, it analyzes institutional developments of the National Assembly in South Korea in terms of the legislative-centered public administration system. Finally, it suggests some implications of the legislative-centered public administration theory in the Korean Public Administration.

Understanding centrosome amplification in cancer: A pathway toward precision-targeted cancer drug development (암의 중심체 증폭 이해를 통한 표적 항암제 개발)

  • Cell division is an essential process for the survival and development of living organisms. It is critical that duplicated chromosomes are properly segregated into daughter cells during mitosis. The centrosome is the core organelle that forms the microtubule-organizing center (MTOC), which generates the microtubules that make up the mitotic spindle during cell division. The centrosome is also involved in cell signaling and motility. In normal cells, there is one centrosome in G1 that replicates into two in the S phase and matures through G2. During the M phase, duplicated centrosomes move to both ends of the cell, and spindle microtubules that are generated from MTOC move the chromosome to both ends. The cells then split into two to complete the cell division. However, a phenomenon called centrosome amplification (CA), in which the number of centrosomes is higher than normal, is common in cancer cells and can lead to chromosome instability (CIN). This paper discusses the process of centrosome replication and the role of PLK4 in this process. The possible consequences of centrosome amplification and how the PLK4 inhibitor may be able to treat certain types of cancer cells, such as breast cancer and neuroblastoma, will also be discussed.

  • This research suggests a method to contribute to the perfect execution of duty in prospective information warfare by inspecting network-based warfare, in which its basic concepts and efficient management plans are provided; it is especially important, due to growing focus on information warfare caused by sudden improvements on information technology which affects not only civil matters but international military affairs as well. For this purpose, this research scrutinizes on the chronological organization of warfare traits during the information age, and information-warfare execution, as well as its effects, thereby providing proper management plans for network-based warfare.

  • This paper implements an estimated closeness centrality ranking algorithm in large-scale workflow-supported social networks and performance analyzes of the algorithm. Existing algorithm has a time complexity problem which is increasing performance time by network size. This problem also causes ranking process in large-scale workflow-supported social networks. To solve such problems, this paper conducts comparison analysis on the existing algorithm and estimated results by applying estimated-driven RankCCWSSN(Rank Closeness Centrality Workflow-supported Social Network). The RankCCWSSN algorithm proved its time-efficiency in a procedure about 50% decrease.

  • This study tries to address several problems embedded in the training of English teachers for gifted programs. With a critical analysis of current English Education and English teacher training, the researcher points out some possible problems in English Education and English teacher training in South Korea. The researcher also points out possible problems in teaching English for Gifted Children. Based on the given problems, the researcher accordingly suggests available solution to English Education for gifted Children, and also better ways of English teacher training for gifted programs. The researcher suggests bilingual, production-based and convergence-based English education for gifted children and those English teachers for gifted children.

  • The goal of current study is to carry out comparative analysis on the relationship between nature perspectives and their corresponding utilities by taking integrated approach combining economic values with environmental ones. The results are as follows. First, empirical evidence shows that the structures of happiness function differ according to nature perspectives. The anthropocentric-nature perspective is centered on economic value. Whilst, environment and social trust play an statistically insignificant role in deciding happiness levels. Secondly, the eco-centric perspective possesses a multi-facted structure of happiness function composing of income, environment, and social trust. In this vein, it is no reasonable behavior, from happiness maximization view, to focus on economic value vis-a-vis use value.

  • This study develops and tests a model of benevolence of an importer towards a foreign exporter. The model posits that an importer's benevolence increases business performance of the relationship. The model also posits that the importer's allocentrism, international orientation, and nationalism affect the relationship between benevolence and performance. The survey results with a sample of importers support most of the hypotheses, except for the moderating effect of nationalism Managerial implications are discussed.

  • 좋은 특징을 도출할 수 있는 신경망은 곧 대상을 잘 이해하고 있는 신경망을 의미한다. 그러나 얼굴과 같이 유사한 이미지를 분류하기 위해서는 신경망이 좀 더 구분되는 특징을 도출해야한다. 본 논문에서는 얼굴과 같이 유사도한 이미지를 분류하기 위해 오차함수에 중심확장(Center Expansion)이라는 오차를 추가한다. 중심확장은 도출된 특징이 밀집되면 클래스를 분류하는 매니폴드를 구하기 어려워져 분류 성능이 하락되는 문제를 해결하기 위해 제안한 것으로 특징이 밀집될 가능성이 높은 부분에 특징이 도출되지 않도록 강제하는 방식이다. 학습 시 활용하는 오차는 일반적으로 분류 문제를 위해 사용되는 softmax cross-entropy 오차와 각 클래스의 분산을 줄이는 오차 그리고 제안한 중심확장 오차를 조합해 구할 것이다. 본 논문에서는 제안한 중심확장 오차를 조합한 모델과 조합되지 않은 모델이 결과적으로 특징 도출과 분류에 어떠한 영향을 주었는지 알아볼 것이다. 중심확장을 조합해 학습한 모델이 어떤 영향을 주었는지 알기 위해 본 논문에서는 Labeled Faces in the Wild를 활용해 분류 실험을 진행할 것이다. Labeled Faces in the Wild을 활용해 실험한 결과 중심확장을 활용한 모델과 활용하지 않은 모델간의 성능을 차이를 확인할 수 있었다.
