The Employee's Information Security Policy Compliance Intention : Theory of Planned Behavior, Goal Setting Theory, and Deterrence Theory Applied (조직구성원의 정보보안 정책 준수의도: 계획된 행동이론, 목표설정이론, 억제이론의 적용)

  • In accordance with the increase of the importance of information security, organizations are making continuous investments to develop policies and adapt technology for information security. Organization should provide systemized support to enhance employees' security compliance intention in order to increase the degree of organization's internal security. This research suggests security policy goal setting and sanction enforcement as a method to improve employees' security compliance in planning and enforcing organization's security policy, and verifies the influencing relationship of Theory of Planned Behavior which explains employee's security compliance intention. We use structural equation modeling to verify the research hypotheses, and conducted a survey on the employees of organization with information security policy. We verified the hypotheses based on 346 responses. The result shows that the degree of goal setting and sanction enforcement has positive influence on self-efficacy and coping efficacy which are antecedents that influence employees' compliance intention. As a result, this research suggested directions for strategic approach for enhancing employee's compliance intention on organization's security policy.

  • As information asset protection is recognized as an important management factor for organizations, organizations are increasing their investments in information security(IS) policies and technologies. However, strict application of IS may cause non-compliance behavior through IS stress on employees of the organization. Accordingly, this study suggests a mechanism by which employee stress affects IS compliance intentions through self-determination, and a method to reinforce IS compliance intentions through person-organization fit. We conducted an online survey of employees working at companies that adopted IS policies and tested hypotheses using 475 samples. First, as a result of analyzing the main effects of applying the structural equation model, role stress affected IS compliance intention through self-determination. Second, as a result of analyzing the moderating effect of applying Process 3.1, personal organization fit strengthened the relationship between self-determination and IS compliance intention. The research suggests a direction for achieving internal IS goals by confirming the influence of IS stress and behavioral causes of employees.

  • 공정위의 사소제도 도입에 따라 개별 사업자들이 평소에 공정위를 전혀 의식하지 않고, 따라서 공정거래법 준수 인식이 박약한 상태에서 시장행동을 하고 있는 현 행태가 상대 사업자를 의식하여 공정거래법을 준수하지 않을 수 없는 형태로 시장 환경이 변화하게 될 경우 시장에서의 공정거래법 준수의 확산효과는 매우 클 것이고, 시장중심의 법 운용이라는 정부방침에서 부응하며 공정위가 불필요하게 법리 논쟁에나 시달려 자원을 낭비하는 폐단을 시정하고 시장에서의 확산된 수요를 토대로 공정거래사제도의 도입도 덩달아 용이해질 수 있어 공정위 직원들의 사기에도 도움이 될 것이다.

  • This study evaluates the impact of an information security policy sanction, a perceived threat, and the perception of the information security climate on a compliance behavioral intention. The research method was structured with a cross-sectional study design for the prospect and goal orientation. The variables used in the analysis are information security policy sanction, perceived threat, perception of information security climate, and compliance behavioral intention. Progress in this research consists of measuring the prospect and goal orientation, and then measuring the four variables. As a result, the prospect had a significant effect on the perception of the information security climate, and it was found that the influence of the gain-based condition was greater than the loss-based condition. Goal orientation had a significant effect on the information security policy sanction, the perceived threat, and the compliance behavioral intention, and the influence of the development-based condition was greater than the stability-based condition. Both prospect and goal orientation had an interactive effect on the compliance behavioral intention. The exploration model was verified as a mediation model. In addition, the discussion includes the appropriate implications for information security based on these research results.

  • As the importance and awareness of security have recently expanded, companies and governments are making continuous efforts and investments for security management. However, there are still many security threats in the organization, especially security incidents caused by internal staff. Therefore, it is very important for members to comply with security policies for organizational security management. Therefore, this study classified industrial security management into technical security, physical security, and managerial security, and applied the theory of planned behavior to investigate the impact relationship on the intention to comply with security policies. SPSS 25 and AMOS 25 were used for statistical analysis, and the study found that technical security had a positive(+) effect on subjective norms, physical security had a positive(+) effect on perceived behavior control, and attitude and perceived behavior control had a positive(+) effect on security policy compliance intention.

The Influential Factors on High School Students' School Dress Code Compliance (고등학생들의 학교 외모규제 준수에 영향을 미치는 요인)

  • This research aimed at identifying the influential factors on high school students' dress code compliance. Specifically, the relationship between the perceived strength and importance of dress codes and dress code compliance, and the relationship between dress code compliance and creativity, self esteem, and school adaptation were examined. For this purpose, reliability tests, multiple regressions, and t-tests were conducted using the data collected from 866 male and female students from six Co-Ed high schools located in Seoul. The results are as follows. First, the more students perceived the school dress codes to be stronger and more important, they were more likely to comply to the dress codes. Second, compared to the low-compliance group, the high-compliance group had higher self-esteem and creativity. Third, compared to the low-compliance group, the high-compliance group showed better adaptation to their teachers, classes, and school rules. However, the two groups were not significantly different in terms of their adaptation to peer groups.

  • This research investigates the impacts of information security (IS) culture and management leadership styles on employee's security behaviors (IS policies compliance, IS participation) in financial institutions. This study use the survey data collected from 236 employees of financial institutions. This research shows that IS culture has a positive effect on both behavioral intentions to comply with IS policies and the intentions to actively participate in information security activities. Transactional leadership has a positive impact on the IS policies compliance intentions and to participate in information security activities. In contrast, transformational leadership has a positive impact on the intentions to participate in information security activities, but not on the IS policies compliance intentions.

  • In this paper the negotiation skills, which have been so far known as non-scientific or artistic field, are analyzed on the basis of behavioral science view point. Negotiator's behavior and psychological situation are believed to influence the negotiation result significantly, therefore, those factors are reviewed with behavioral science framework. Some concepts developed in Cognitive Psychology to explain the decision making models - prominence, commitment, escalation of commitment, framing, adjustment and anchoring, endowment effect - are reconceptualized and applied to the negotiation skill analysis and negotiation skill development in this paper. As the results of this research, various negotiation skills which have been so far believed as irrational and artistic are now able to be explained on the basis of sound logic and reasoning. This means also that valuable and elegant negotiation skills should be further developed by behavioral scientists.

  • 최근 문제가 제조 현장에서 안전 조치 의무 미준수로 인한 산업재해가 이슈가 되고 있다. 산업 재해는 대부분의 경우 관리 부실이 가장 큰 요인이다. 따라서 관리적 부분에서 머신 비전과 행동인식, 유사도 검색 알고리즘을 도입하여 제조현장에서 발생하는 불상사를 예방하고자 한다. 가이드라인 접근, 위험한 행동, 안전 장비 착용 수칙을 미 준수할 경우 사전에 입력된 가이드라인에 따라 관리자와 노동자에게 알림 및 경고하는 시스템을 제안하는 것을 요지로 한다.
