The Associations of Empowerment and Social Capital with Self-Rated Health in Communities with Poor Health (사망률이 높은 지역사회에서 임파워먼트 및 사회적 자본과 주관적 건강수준의 연관성)

  • Objectives: This study was performed to identify the associations of empowerment and social capital (such as social participation and trust) with self-rated health in Korean communities with poor health. Methods: This study used the data from community health interviews conducted at 29 administrative sections (dong, eup, or myeon) with high mortality from August to October in both 2010 and 2011 as part of the Health Plus Happiness Plus Projects in Gyeongsangnam-do Province. The study subjects comprised 6,383 individuals composed of approximately 220 adults randomly sampled from each administrative section. The empowerment was measured with five-point Likert scale responses to seven perceived control questions (two at the individual level, five at the community level). The social participation was measured with 'participation in formal and/or informal group' and trust using responses to three questions about trust of others. Results: The high empowerment scores at both individual and community levels, social participation in informal groups, and high trust level had independent and significant associations with good self-rated health after adjusting for socio-demographic factors (sex, age, marital status, occupation, and food affordability) and health behaviors (smoking, alcohol drinking, and exercise) in the logistic regressions. There were weak but significant associations among empowerment, social participation, and trust levels. Conclusions: Empowerment, social participation, and trust were weakly inter-related and significantly associated with self-rated health. More studies are warranted for empowerment and other social capital indices in health promotion.

A Subjectivity Study on the Leadership Types of the Executive Chef Recognized by Hotel Cook (호텔조리사가 인식한 총주방장의 리더십 유형에 대한 주관성 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze hotel chefs' perceptions of each type of leadership, to help improve teamwork and work efficiency through the improvement of job satisfaction and work skills by hotel cooks and the impact of leadership on human relations. In particular, by conducting Q methodological analysis on the subjectivity of the total chef's leadership type recognized by hotel chefs in vertical command systems according to the nature of the work in the hotel company. The analysis of leadership types showed that Type 1 (N=4): both transformative and servent leadership is a combination of preferences or non-preferences, Type 2 (N=4): transformative leadership preference, Type 3 (N=3): both transformative and non-preferred leadership. The leadership of the executive chef, recognized by hotel chefs, is believed to prefer leadership that is considered for individual situations that match each other's experiences and work skills (ability values) rather than uniform leadership such as transformational or servent leadership. Along with the theoretical discussion of Q methodology, the leadership type is explained, and based on the subjectivity research analysis method of Q analysis, the subjectivity of hotel chefs will be identified in various ways and new leadership will be presented.

  • The procedure of present military facility remodeling has many problems at the stage of evaluating the priorities in various remodeling projects which have been caused from lots of corps. These problems have usually happened not only because of the shortage of the cooperation system in the related divisions but also because of the nonexistence of the effective process and method for evaluating the priorities. I've reviewed the study of remodeling and military facility business and applied the AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) method which is effective to evaluate the priorities in various groups' decision.

Analysis of Relationship between Objective Performance Measurement and 3D Visual Discomfort in Depth Map Upsampling (깊이맵 업샘플링 방법의 객관적 성능 측정과 3D 시각적 피로도의 관계 분석)

  • A depth map is an important component for stereoscopic image generation. Since the depth map acquired from a depth camera has a low resolution, upsamling a low-resolution depth map to a high-resolution one has been studied past decades. Upsampling methods are evaluated by objective evaluation tools such as PSNR, Sharpness Degree, Blur Metric. As well, the subjective quality is compared using virtual views generated by DIBR (depth image based rendering). However, works on the analysis of the relation between depth map upsampling and stereoscopic images are relatively few. In this paper, we investigate the relationship between subjective evaluation of stereoscopic images and objective performance of upsampling methods using cross correlation and linear regression. Experimental results demonstrate that the correlation of edge PSNR and visual fatigue is the highest and the blur metric has lowest correlation. Further, from the linear regression, we found relative weights of objective measurements. Further we introduce a formulae that can estimate 3D performance of conventional or new upsampling methods.

  • The purpose of this study is to find trend & paradigm of national image ; to review process to be global corporate ; to evaluate brand value of SAMSUNG. Researcher made a study with SWOT analysis and depth survey interview about Interaction and influence between national image and global corporate. The result reveal five type that divided '1 ; Nation-Leading Type(n=10)', '2 ; International Superiority Type(n=6)', '3 ; Typical Influence Type(n=4)'. It found that is very different type. In conclusion, it was ascertained a proposition about 'growth of global corporate is in accord with development of brand value in Korea' through this study. Above all, in this article, the result of this works was provide a momentum ; it is the diverse effects to the global corporate inside and outside of the country.

  • This is a study on the subjectivity of audiences about preference of documentaries on TV. Accordingly, Q-methodology was used for this study. As a result, audiences' various characteristics by preference types were able to be found. The individual characteristics were classified into three styles: an entertainment-oriented style pursuing enjoyment, public and society interest-oriented style pursuing public purpose, and culture-oriented style pursuing artistic value of documentaries in order. It could be inferred from the classification of preference styles that unlike the past, the choice of TV broadcasting of audiences was shifting from the passive and media-dependent form to positive form. Therefore, the research and development of content delivery and production in the multi-media and multi-channel digital broadcasting era should be focused on not only the content itself but also an audience-centered service development model reflecting audiences' desire and hope.

  • Obstructive sleep apnea syndrom(OSAS) is defined by total or partial collapse of the upper airway during sleep. In the presence of specific anatomic features, OSAS is potentially amenable to surgical treatment. Initially, the only treatment available for these patients was a tracheotomy that bypassed the obstruction and resulted in a 100% cure. However, this was not readily accepted by most patients, and surgical methods other than tracheotomy were developed to successfully maintain adequate upper airway patency during sleep by comparing to postoperative polysomnography(AHI,RDI etc). In this paper, I would like to provide an overview of some of the multilevel surgical techniques available for treating OSAS as well as the necessary preoperative considerations.

  • The evaluation of design is one of the most important steps in design process. However, because in most cases, design evaluation has been disregarded in comparison with other steps and has been performed by designer's subjective judgment. there are few studies for the development of systematic methodology. In this study, we developed the method of design evaluation using the fuzzy theory and the multi-criteria dedsion making model. This method consists of two steps. The first step is to obtain relative importance weights of design evaluation criteria, and the second step is to obtain and integrate scores for design evaluation criteria. AHP(analytic hierarchy process) and fuzzy theory were applied to the first and the second step, respectively. We applied the developed method to the sensible evaluation of cellular phone design. As the result, we verified that the developed method could be effectively used in the evaluation of product design.

The analysis of characteristics of 4K-UHD Video Quality based on HEVC (HEVC 기반 초고선명(4K-UHD) 비디오 시청품질 특성 분석)

  • 본 논문은 최근 수요와 관심이 급증하고 있는 초고선명 4K-UHD 영상의 방송TV 서비스 도입시에 영상의 시청환경 및 신호규격 선정의 가이드라인을 제공하는 것을 목표로 HEVC 코덱(HM5.0 참조 소프트웨어)으로 부/복호화 한 4K-UHD 영상에 대한 주관적 화질평가를 결과를 제시한다. ITU-R BT.500의 권고에 따라 DSIS 방법으로 실험 하였으며, 원본 영상 대비 목표 비트율(18, 23, 36 Mbps), 컬러 포맷(YUV444, YUV420), 시청거리(0.75H, 1.5H) 변화에 따른 주관적 화질 평기를 수행하였다. 실험결과 시청거리가 가깝고 비트율이 18Mbps로 낮게 책정한 조건에서도 평균 의사 점수(MOS)는 4.65로서 피 실험자들은 화질 차이를 거의 느끼지 못하는 것으로 나다났다. 또한 동일한 비트율 조건에서 컬러 포맷을 YUV444와 YUV420에 대한 비교 실험에서 각각 MOS 값은 4.71과 4.81로 측정 되었으며, 평가자들은 채도(Chrominance)의 해상도 보다 전체적인 PSNR이 높을수록 높은 MOS 값을 주었다. 이는 동일 비트율 대비 YUV444보다 YUV420의 컬러 포맷이 더 높은 주관적 화질을 가짐을 의미한다. 본 실험을 통해 HEVC 코덱을 사용하여 현재의 방송 대역폭 조건에 UHD 영상도 충분히 고품질로 전송 가능하며, 영상의 컬러 포맷은 YUV420가 YUV444 방식보다 동일 비트율 대비 더 높은 화질을 가질 것이라고 예상 할 수 있다.

Untact Medical Services Campaign Awareness of Univ. Students in the COVID-19 Era using Q Methodology (Q 방법론으로 분석한 코로나 시대의 의료 언택트 서비스 캠페인에 관한 대학생 인식)

  • The purpose of the study was to identify the untact medical services campaign awareness in COVID-19 era using Q methodology. We used subjective analysis for this purpose and examined 1) what are the types of untact medical services campaign awareness? and 2) what are the homogeneous characteristics and implications between each type? We composed a Q concourse through interviews with university students to write Q statements, selected a P sample, and used Q-sort obtained from the sorting process to analyze it through Q-factor analysis in the PC QUANL program. Q methodology was used to examine the subjective tendency of untact medical services campaign awareness in COVID-19 era. As a result of the analysis, four types were identified. 1) Type 1 (N=7): Belief & official announcement type, 2) Type 2 (N=4): Governmental notice type, 3) Type 3 (N=3): Medical information public notice type, 4) Type 4 (N=2): Sympathetic information type. An insightful analysis was derived in that the analysis could identify factors in the schema of respondents related to untact medical services in COVID-19 era.
