Characteristics of the Immigration Path and Residential Location of Korean Immigrants in London Metropolitan Area (런던지역 한인 이주민의 정착경로 및 주거입지 특성)

  • This paper aims at analyzing the characteristics of the immigration path, residential location, and housing ownership structure of Korean immigrants in London metropolitan area. The main results of this study are as follows. Firstly, factors influencing the initial residential location of Korean immigrants are situation of immigrants, immigration region, and help of prior Korean immigrants. Secondly, factors influencing the current residential location of Korean immigrants are income, ability of English, education at United Kingdom, and initial residential location. Thirdly, viewing the characteristics of the of housing ownership structure, migrants tend to reside their own housings while migration period go beyond 10 years and incomes exceed ${\pounds}$50,000. Forth, immigration path types of London Korean Immigrants are divided by ethnic enclave oriented type and mainstream society oriented type.

  • The Apartment resident's make-up of a family and residing preference are diversified by the change of lifestyle through the elevation of economy level and residing level. Accordingly, the remodeling and the early rebuilding for the satisfaction of a life cycle and a life style are increasing, and "Variability" that is the concept of Open Housing was emphasized as a central of residing plan in the apartment. Although apartments which select the space variability to the residing space are increasing gradually, the optimum composition structural system with space variability that satisfies the structure stability, the economical efficiency and the resident usability is not developed. The method of a study was progressed by a comparison and an analysis on each system with estimation elements through analyzing the development process and the special quality of existing composition structural system with space variability in the apartment. This paper offered the improvement direction on the current composition structural system with space variability for the development of modularizing system that is correct in domestic real condition.

An Exploratory Study on the Children for Poverty Housing (아동 주거빈곤 정책 마련을 위한 탐색적 연구)

  • The government has switched the purpose of housing policy, from the 'housing supply' to 'housing welfare', with the Housing Laws established in 2015 under evaluation that resident stability and resident standard were improved. But, as 'affordable' housing is gradually decreasing, residential environment has become more poor. Residential environment is a basic element for the child safety, health, and better education. This study explored that the poor resident environment had effect on the child, figured out the situation on housing poverty of domestic child and searched the situation of the residential policy of domestic and foreign child. The main results are as follows. First, the poor resident environment of childhood has a bad effect on the physical health, mental health, academic achievement and cognitive development. Second, 1.29 million children (11.9%) are living in condition of housing poverty below minimum resident standard and are concentrated in certain areas. Third, the policy on housing poverty of domestic child is almost absent and focuses on the elderly, young people. this study discussed political and practical solutions based on these research results. On the basis of these research results, as policy suggestions we proposed housing policy making based on the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, evidence-based housing policy enforcement and, residential policy suggestions under the responsibility of central government, and as practical suggestions community working as the subject and related agency's solidarity from prevention activity of housing poverty and child advocacy point and we discussed way for issue and analyzed related laws, policies, commitments.

  • 경기도 성남시 분당구에 위치한 한국토지주택공사는 지난 2009년 10월 대한주택공사와 한국토지공사가 통합하고, 국가가 자본금 전액을 출자해 출범한 공기업이다. 한국주택공사는 전국의 300여 개의 사업장에서 주택 공급, 신도시 개발 등 국민들의 주거생활 향상과 국토 이용의 효율성을 높이기 위한 다양한 활동에 나서고 있다. 특히 주택 공급 분양과 관련해서는 보금자리 주택 건축 사업을 담당하면서 국민주거 수준을 높이는 역할을 톡톡히 수행하고 있다. 이를 구체적으로 살펴보면 한국토지주택공사는 2018년까지 150만호의 보금자리 주택을 공급한다는 목표를 세워 실천해 나가고 있다. 또 신도시 개발 분야에서는 세종시를 비롯해 부산, 대구 등의 혁신도시 개발 업무를 맡고 있기도 하다. 이처럼 국민주거 수준을 높이고 도시에 숨결을 불어넣는 막중한 업무를 진행함에 있어 근로자의 안전 보건은 경영의 최우선 가치로 여겨지고 있다. 여기에 더해 전국 본사와 33개 지역본부, 사업본부 및 사업단과 7천여 명의 임직원으로 구성된 거대한 조직이라는 점에서 이곳이 안전관리는 전국 안전인들의 남다른 관심을 받고 있다. 아울러 최근 전 직원의 안전보건 관련사항을 체계적으로 관리할 수 있는 안전보건시스템 개발이 한창 진행 중에 있어 더욱 뜨거운 화제가 되고 있다. 근로자의 안전보건을 밑바탕으로 국토 관리의 중추적인 역할을 담당하고 있는 한국토지주택공사를 찾아가 봤다.

A Study on Veblen Effect according to Residence Estate: Focused on Conspicuous Consumption (주거용부동산의 거주유형에 따른 베블런효과에 관한 연구: 과시소비성향을 중심으로)

  • Recently, middle and low social class entered in the upper class for the specific reasons and joined reference group in order to present demonstration effect. This phenomenon was assumed the consumer's desire for housing estate not from the leisure class. The superiority which feels belong to reference group, that was able to purchase high price product and the competence which can afford a high price goods are effective in housing estate. The study had been researched for Veblen effect according to residence estate. The partial least squares path modeling was used for Veblen effect affected by various psychological attributes, housing patterns and demographics for analysis. As a result, the conspicuous consumption from tenants was higher than residents, the social face sensitivity affected positively for self esteem and housing pattern, therefore, it caused conspicuous consumption. Moreover, we found conspicuous consumption had been increased followed by more spacious housing and higher income.

  • The urban has been improved houses and facilities as accelerating industry and society, while the rural area was inferior to the city. Furthermore, there was not a maintenance in time as ageing, and did not expect to rebuilding of using proper techniques and materials for financial reasons. This study find a way to make a revitalizing plan for appropriate real state. For this, perform a current status survey that 900 rural residences of 36 rural villages in Chungcheong area. As a result, Korean traditional structure is a half in residential type, and has poor residential conditions by comparison with western pattern. The structural type comprises two type that a pure structure and a mixed structure, and Korean traditional structure is a mixed structure more than a pure structure. It is considered continuous changes by a resident due to a pure structure was not satisfy various functions. It need appropriate plan to improve a rural residence for each characteristics.

A Factor having Influence on Housebreaking Victimization (주거침입 피해에 영향을 미치는 요인)

  • The aim of this study was to investigate the factors influencing on housebreaking victimization in South Korea. It is important that a resident, police officer, and policy makers use Routine activities/lifestyle theory in order to explore whether proximity and exposure to offenders or presence of guardianships affect the resident's risk of being victimized. In this context, the current study utilizes proximity variables: disorder of residence, exposure variables: hours of empty house and guardianship variables: social networks, security equipment. The study employs secondary data(Korean Crime Victim Survey in 2008) responses from a sample of 4, 710 resident. and Logistic regression analysis was used to examine whether the likelihoods of housebreaking victimization was associated with the measures of proximity and exposure and the lack of guardianship. The result of the study showed that proximity(disorder of residence) and guardianship (security equipment) are statistically significant predictors that is associated with an enhanced risk of school violence victimization while controlling for other variables. Further policy implications of the study will be discussed.

  • Recently, the housing problem has been recognized as a matter of housing supply with a certain environmental level and not simply a matter of handing as a quantitative problem, and the demand for pleasant residential environments and requirements for residential environments are increasing more and more. However, it is necessary to establish the directions for improvement of the residential environment according to the house type, as the requirements and levels of satisfaction differ. This study aimed to deduce the level of resident satisfaction with the residential environments according to house type, and determine the direction for improvement of the residential environment. To achieve this, the difference between the house types was analyzed through ANOVA analysis and T-Test, and the major factors on the improvement direction of the residential environment were derived through Action-grid analysis.
