NIST 경량암호 공모 최종 후보 10종에 대한 경량 AEAD 최신 동향

  • 전자기기의 통신에 있어서 암호 시스템은 안전한 통신을 가능하게 해주는 주요 수단이다. 사물 인터넷과 같은 소형화된 전자기기가 등장함에 따라 기존에 사용하던 AES와 같은 암호 시스템은 소형 디바이스가 작동하는 저전력, 저면적 환경에서 동작하기에 큰 부담을 주게되었다. 이에 따라 다양한 경량 암호들이 제안되어 왔다. 2018년 NIST에서는 이러한 경량 암호의 표준화 작업을 위하여 공모사업을 시작하였고, 2021년 3월에 최종 후보 10종이 발표되었다. 최종 후보로 선택된 10종의 경량 암호의 구조는 향후 새로운 환경에서 사용 가능한 암호 알고리즘을 설계하거나 암호 시스템이 특정 환경에서 소비하는 자원을 가늠하는데 중요한 척도가 될 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 최종후보 10종에 대한 특징을 확인하고자 한다.

A checklist of vascular plants in limestone areas on the Korean Peninsula (한반도 석회암지대의 관속식물 목록)

  • Limestone areas are sedimentary rock outcrops consisting of calcium carbonate created several hundreds of millions of years ago by calcium-secreting marine organisms and subsequently lifted above sea level by tectonic movement. Limestone areas support very high levels of endemic species of plants and are recognized as biodiversity areas with much biological information. The purpose of this study is to devise a strategy for the comprehensive conservation of the vegetation of limestone areas through analyses of the floristics and plant species compositions in ten limestone areas on the Korean Peninsula. The results of 153 field surveys from April of 2010 to October of 2016 identified 1,202 taxa in total, representing 1,096 species, 18 subspecies, 84 varieties, 2 forms, and 2 hybrids in 530 genera and 133 families. Among them, 55 taxa were endemic plants to Korea, and 38 taxa were red data plants. The floristic target plants amounted to 102 taxa, specifically 27 taxa of grade V and 75 taxa of grade IV. In all, 121 alien plants were recorded in the investigated area. Calciphilous plants amounted to 102 taxa, specifically 14 taxa of calciphilous indicator plants, 30 taxa of superlative most calciphilous plants, and 58 taxa of comparative more calciphilous plants. A cluster analysis showed a high degree of similarity between sites that are geographically adjacent with similar habitat environments. Limestone areas also supported groups distinct from those in non-limestone areas, demonstrating the specificity of limestone flora. Plant geography approaches therefore appear to be crucial to gain a better understanding of the level of biodiversity in limestone areas, not only at the interspecific but also at the intraspecific level. These results highlight the importance of protecting limestone habitats to preserve not only their interspecific but also the intraspecific diversity, which is highly threatened.

A Study on Interdisciplinary Structure of Big Data Research with Journal-Level Bibliographic-Coupling Analysis (학술지 단위 서지결합분석을 통한 빅데이터 연구분야의 학제적 구조에 관한 연구)

  • Interdisciplinary approach has been recognized as one of key strategies to address various and complex research problems in modern science. The purpose of this study is to investigate the interdisciplinary characteristics and structure of the field of big data. Among the 1,083 journals related to the field of big data, multiple Subject Categories (SC) from the Web of Science were assigned to 420 journals (38.8%) and 239 journals (22.1%) were assigned with the SCs from different fields. These results show that the field of big data indicates the characteristics of interdisciplinarity. In addition, through bibliographic coupling network analysis of top 56 journals, 10 clusters in the network were recognized. Among the 10 clusters, 7 clusters were from computer science field focusing on technical aspects such as storing, processing and analyzing the data. The results of cluster analysis also identified multiple research works of analyzing and utilizing big data in various fields such as science & technology, engineering, communication, law, geography, bio-engineering and etc. Finally, with measuring three types of centrality (betweenness centrality, nearest centrality, triangle betweenness centrality) of journals, computer science journals appeared to have strong impact and subjective relations to other fields in the network.

A Study on the Analytic Unit of Habitat Suitability Assessment and Selection in Conservation Areas for Leopard Cat(Prionailurus bengalensis) - Focus on Chungcheong Province Area - (삵의 서식지 적합성 평가를 위한 분석단위 설정 및 보전지역 선정 - 충청도 지역을 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study is to compare a habitat suitability grid unit included within a radius of 100m and $1km^2,\;2km^2,\;4km^2$ watershed units in order to predict suitable habitats for Chungcheong province's endangered leopard species(Prionailurus bengalensis). Other developed countries have carried out habitat assessment and established management policies for species conservation using such methods as HEP(Habitat Evaluation Procedures), HSI(Habitat Suitability Index) and GAP(Gap Analysis Program), etc. In accordance with these studies, many evaluation methods for habitat conservation have been proposed in Korea, but these studies are lacking in consideration of analytic units and general application of analysis results. This study predicted leopard habitat using a logistic regression analysis according to analytic units by data from 56 location and 8 sources of environmental data, including elevation, slope, forest area, land cover, roads, water, broadleaf trees, and human habitation. Moreover, the habitat suitability assessment unit was confirmed by a model comparison process encompassing model explanation. verification, and application on a regional scale. Results showed that assessment methods that took into consideration areas in and around the location points were beneficial in predicting habitat and that the assessment unit was appropriate for a 30m grid unit including areas within a radius of 100m and a $1km^2$ watershed unit in Chungcheong Province. This study suggests a method for regional habitat conservation to complement existing conservation area selection methods, and the results are expected to be used in conservation area selection and ecosystem management policies for endangered species.

The Methodology for Environmental Risk Assessments of Non-target Organisms (Insects) on LM Rice (LM벼에 영향을 받는 비표적 생물체(곤충)에 대한 환경위해성 평가 (ERA) 방법)

  • This paper is to suggest the methods about the environmental risk assessment (ERA) based on non-target insect species for LM rice crop produced by biotechnology. We used some data by the picture dictionary of agricultural pests in Korea, some books for ERA or rice pest ecology, articles about rice ecology, and internet sites and many specialists gave us good advice for this ERA system. We found about 140 insect species using rice crop as their habitat and we discriminated herbivores into Sap feeder, Grain feeder, Defoliator, and Pollen feeder according to their food functional group. We also clarified the potential damage possibility of insect species from LM rice crop. Then, we ranked 10 non-target insect species (Baliothrips biformis, Laodelphax striatellus, Nilaparvata lugens, Mythimna separata, Cnaphalocrocis medinalis, Cletus schmidti Kiritshenko, Scotinophara lurida, Nilaparvata bakeri, Oxya chinensis, Agromyza oryzae) with giving some scores using Geographic distribution, Habitat specialization, Prevalence on crop, Abundance. We showed some environmental risk hypotheses about herbivore, predator, and parasitoid, and infered the impacts of non-target species on LM rice crop. Conclusively, we want to serve this methodology to build the biosafety system from biotechnology crops, and the methodology is to keep public health, sustain the biodiversity, and conserve the natural ecosystems.

Ecosystem Risk Assessment Using the Indicator Species (지표종을 이용한 생태계 위해성평가)

  • Risk assessment by living indicator species provides the information about the ecosystem disturbance, disapperance of symbiosis and change of living group. In the initial stage of this kind research, the degree of contamination was reported using the level of simple number, but simple number may not represent the risk itself which can be casued in the living organisms. Risk assessment using various indicator species overcomes these limitations and can be expanded to the DNA level. In many developed counties, the government has supervised the researches about the indicator species for the monitoring and its application to ecosystem restoration. Several living indicator species found in the vicinity of the abandoned Au mines such as fern, earthworm, bacteria, rhizosphere-rhizoplane, salamamdor and DNA change of these species are described in this paper.

Diversity of ampicillin resistant bacteria in domestic streams (국내 하천에 분포하는 ampicillin 내성균의 다양성)

  • The widespread emergence of antibiotic resistant microorganisms in clinics and natural environments has attracted public concern. Especially, microorganisms inhabiting natural environment is considered as a source responsible for increasing the abundance of antibiotic resistant genes in ecosystem. In this study, the diversity of culturable bacteria resistant to ampicillin was investigated with water samples collected from seven locations in Korea. The genera belonging to Aeromonas and Acidovorax were dominant among the isolated 498 strains. The 66% of isolates showed multi-drug resistance against more than six antibiotics among tested fourteen ones and isolates resistant to seven antibiotics were the most prevalent with 19.7% abundance. Using the antibiotics susceptibility results, the intrinsic resistance profile was suggested for the most dominant genera, Aeromonas, Acidovorax, Pseudomonas, and Elizabethkingia.

  • 최근 우선 네트워크 상에서 이동성을 보장하기 위한 다양한 인프라 기술에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 한국군 전술통신망은 이기종, 다특성 통신장비로 구성된 네트워크가 복합적으로 운용되고 있다. 임무수행을 위한 신속한 상황인식과 지휘통제가 최상위 지휘관으로부터 이동중인 최하위 전투원까지 이음새없는(seamless) 통합망을 통해 전달되어야 하나 현재 각 네트워크간 통합기술이나 통합 아키덱처에 관한 연구는 미흡한 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 현재 가용한 이동 네트워크 기술 현황을 제시하고, 현 한국군 전술통신망의 특징과 장단정을 제시한 후, 복합적인 네트워크 환경 하에서 노드의 이동성을 지원하는 계층적 전술통신망 아키텍처에 대한 통신망 설계시 고려사항, 전체 아키텍처 구조 및 각 계층별 노드의 구조와 이들 노드간의 인터페이싱, 이동노드에 대한 이동성 관리 방안을 제안한다.

Analysis of volatile compounds in fermented seasoning pastes using edible insects by SPME-GC/MS (SPME-GC/MS 이용 식용곤충 페이스트형 발효조미료의 향기성분분석)

  • Fermented seasoning pastes were prepared by Aspergillus oryzae and Bacillus subtilis using three edible insects, Tenebrio molitor larvae (TMP), Gryllus bimaculatus (GBP), and Bombyx mori pupa (SPP), with soybean (SBP) as a negative control. Volatile compounds were extracted by the headspace solid-phase microextraction (HS-SPME) method and confirmed by gas chromatograph-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). In total, 121 volatiles from four samples were identified and sub-grouped as 11 esters, 18 alcohols, 23 aldehydes, 5 acids, 10 pyrazines, 2 pyridines, 7 aromatic hydrocarbons, 10 ketones, 19 alkanes, 9 amides, 4 furans and 3 miscellaneous. TMP, GBP, SPP and SBP had 48, 54, 36, and 55 volatile compounds, respectively. Overall, 2,6-dimethylpyrazine and trimethylpyrazine were found by a high proportion in all samples. Tetramethylpyrazine, a main flavor of doenjang, a Korean fermented seasoning soybean paste, was identified as one of the major compounds in TMP, SPP, and SBP. SBP had benzaldehyde, hexanal, n-pentanal, and aldehydes and SPP with pyrazines.

Genetic Diversity and Population Structure in East Asian Populations of Plantago asiatica (동아시아 질경이 집단의 유전적 다양성과 집단구조)

  • Plantago asiatica (Plantaginaceae) is a wind-pollinated plant that grows mainly on fields in East Asia. Starch gel electrophoresis was used to investigate the allozyme diversity and population structure of 18 populations of this species. Although the plantain populations were isolated and patchily distributed, they maintained a high level of genetic diversity; the average percentage of polymorphic loci was 57.1%, the mean number of alleles per locus was 2.07, and the average heterozygosity for 18 populations was 0.201. The combination of a predominant wind-pollinated, mix-mating reproduction, large population sizes, high gene flow between subpopulations, and a propensity for high fecundity may explain the high level of genetic diversity within populations. A direct gradient in overall genetic diversity is associated with latitude. Genetic diversity of P. asiatica is markedly decreased from $35^{\circ}3^{\prime}$ to high latitude and decreased from $35^{\circ}3^{\prime}N$ to low latitude, whereas there does not show a longitudinal gradient in genetic diversity.
