Chondromyxoid fibroma is a benign tumor in adolescents and young adults. The most common location of the tumor is the proximal one-third of the tibia. Chondromyxoid fibroma accounts for less then 1% of all bony neoplasms and foot is affected in about 20% of all cases. The authors have described a case of chondromyxoid fibroma of the first metatarsal which had been recurred 7 months after curettage and iliac bone graft. En bloc resection and reconstruction of the metatarsal with autogenous iliac bone graft were performed. The results were satisfactory and the patient was free of local recurrence at two years follow-up.

Progressive massive fibrosis (PMF) with atypical findings is often misdiagnosed as lung cancer. Atypical features of PMF have been described in some reports; however, these reports only introduced their cases with a short literature review. We report two cases of solitary PMFs with no underlying simple pneumoconiosis or rapid growth at atypical location that were mistaken for lung cancer. We also suggest the useful CT findings to aid in the differential diagnosis.

Mazabraud syndrome is a rare benign disease that is accompanied by polyostotic fibrous dysplasia and intramuscular myxoma. Malignant transformation of fibrous dysplasia occurs in approximately 1% of cases. To date, only eight cases of malignant transformation, of fibrous dysplasia to osteosarcoma, in Mazabraud syndrome have been reported worldwide. The authors report the first case of osteosarcomatous transformation in a patient with Mazabraud syndrome in the Republic of Korea, focusing on imaging findings.

Nine wind vegetables were analyzed for moisture, ash, crude protein, crude lipid and dietary fiber. Wild vegetables contained 33-53% of dietary fiber on a dry weight basis. Dalle (Allium monanthum) contained 49% total dietary fiber and 22% soluble dietary fiber and dodok(Codonopsis lanceolata) contained 55% total dietary fiber and 21% soluble dietary fiber. Wild 8% more dietary fiber than cultivated one. Water holding capacities of wild vegetables were higher than commercial wheat bran and soy fiber, but lower in oil absorption. When wild dodok and dalle were wet milled by blade grinding before sieving the dietary fiber content in dodok was increased from 55 to 83 % with increasing the dietary fiber content in dalle form 49% to 69%.

Solitary fibrous tumor is an uncommon submesothelial mesenchymal neoplasm that primarily arises from the pleura. Most solitary fibrous tumors have a benign course, and the single most important predictor of the clinical outcome is the ability to excise the entire lesion. We experienced a case of CSF leakage through a subarachnoid-pleural fistula after resection of a malignant solitary fibrous tumor and the involved rib. We detected CSF leakage via performing CT myelography and we treated this case with hemilaminectomy and dura repair.

The fibroma is the most common benign soft-tissue tumor found in the oral cavity and most commonly occurrs in sites predisposed to irritation or trauma. Treatment is conservative surgical excision. Seldom does the lesion recur. A 14-year old girl was referred to the Department of Pediatric Dentistry for evaluation and management of a mass on the palate. The patient's parents reported the slow growth of this soft tissue lesion over a 6-month period. A history of trauma or irritable habits was denied. Clinical examination revealed an asymptomatic, soft, pedunculated elevation of mucosa, measuring 3cm in diameter. Excisional biopsy of the lesion supported a diagnosis of fibroma. There have been no signs of recurrence during follow up of 4 years after surgical intervention. The clinical picture, pathology and management of the case are described, and the differential diagnosis and treatment are discussed.
