LC filter design for reducing output voltage harmonics (출력 전압 고조파 저감을 위한 LC 필터설계)

  • 본 논문은 PWM에 의한 전압 고조파를 분석하여 LC 필터를 설계하는 방안을 제안한다. 전압형 인버터는 PWM 방식을 이용하여 출력전압을 합성하며, PWM에 의한 전압 고조파는 직류단 전압, Modulation index, Deadtime 등에 의해서 결정된다. 출력 전압 고조파와 PWM 전압고조파와의 관계를 풀어 LC 필터를 설계한다. 제안된 방법으로 설계된 LC 필터는 시뮬레이션을 통해 설계의 타당성을 확인하였다.

Computational Analysis of Parabolic Overtopping Wave Energy Convertor (포물선형 월류파력발전장치에 대한 수치해석)

  • Overtopping Wave Energy Convertor (OWEC) is an offshore wave energy convertor for collecting the overtopping waves and converting the water pressure head into electric power through the hydro turbines installed in the vertical duct which is fixed in the sea bed. The numerical wave tank based on the commercial computational fluid dynamics code Fluent is established for the corresponding analysis. Several incident wave conditions and shape parameters of the overtopping device are calculated. The straight line type and parabolic type of the sloping arm are compared in the optimal designing investigation of the overtopping characteristics and discharge for OWEC device. The numerical results demonstrate that the parabolic sloping arm is available for wave running up and the overtopping discharge increasing.

A CMOS LC VCO with Differential Second Harmonic Output (차동 이차 고조파 출력을 갖는 CMOS LC 전압조정발진기)

  • A technique is presented to extract differential second harmonic output from common source nodes of a cross-coupled P-& N-FET oscillator. Provided the impedances at the common source nodes are optimized and the fundamental swing at the VCO core stays in a proper mode, it is found that the amplitude and phase errors can be kept within $0{\sim}1.6dB$ and $+2.2^{\circ}{\sim}-5.6^{\circ}$, respectively, over all process/temperature/voltage corners. Moreover, an impedance-tuning circuit is proposed to compensate any unexpectedly high errors on the differential signal output. A Prototype 5-GHz VCO with a 2.5-Hz LC resonator is implemented in $0.18-{\mu}m$ CMOS. The error signal between the differential outputs has been measured to be as low as -70 dBm with the aid of the tuning circuit. It implies the push-push outputs are satisfactorily differential with the amplitude and phase errors well less than 0.34 dB and $1^{\circ}$, respectively.

Investigation on the Behavioral and Hydrodynamic Characteristics of Submerged Floating Tunnel based on Regular Wave Experiments (규칙파 실험에 의한 수중터널의 거동 및 동수역학적 특성 고찰)

  • In this study, physical experiments were performed in a two-dimensional wave flume to investigate the hydraulic and structural performance of a SFT model. The experiments were made by generating regular waves of different heights and periods under various conditions of buoyancy to weight ratio (BWR) and water depth as well. Through the analysis of the experimental data, it was clarified that the sway and heave motions of the tunnel body linearly increased with wave height and period. In contrast, the roll motion was rather insignificant unless wave height and period were comparatively large as the design wave. Similarly proportional relationship with respect to wave height and period was obtained in case of the maximum tensile force acting on the tension legs and the wave loads on the tunnel body. Regarding the change of water depth or BWR conditions, generally decreasing trend was obtained according to increase of water depth but decrease of BWR for both of the magnitudes of structural behaviors or wave loadings on the SFT structure.

A New Wavemaker Control System with Reflected Wave Absorbing Capability (반사파 흡수용 신 조파제어 시스템의 설계)

  • It has been acknowledged as an important problem to maintain identity or compatibility among experimental laboratory data obtained separately in different wave flumes. The data quality mainly depends on how long the target waves can be realized in a flume without distortions. In the present paper a control circuit is devised in the form of multiple feed-back operations to attain a complete equality of the intended waves and the realized waves. The analysis of the circuit gives an algorithm which can be easily adapted to a small computer controlling wave making hardwares. As a main feature of the algorithm, a numerical filter with wave absorbing capability is presented. The filter is discretely realized so that the discrete input matches to the output directly, hence applicable even to nondeterministic input Through several example analyses, the algorithm proved its accuracy, being effective to both regular and irregular reflected waves.

Experimental Study of Wave-Absorbing Performance by Horizontal Punching Plates (수평형 타공판에 의한 소파성능의 실험적 연구)

  • Wave absorbing system is needed at various kinds of wave basins (wave flume, towing tank, square tank) for the model test related to the ocean engineering. In this paper, the performance of wave absorbing system with new concept is estimated throughout the experiments. Herein, the wave absorbing system is designed by punching plate with a given porosity which is installed horizontally and submerged near the water surface. As the incident wave generated by a wave maker advances above a punching plate, the strong jet flow is formed near a hole of punching plate. As a result, wave energy is dissipated into heat energy, Systematic model tests were conducted at KRISO to verify the performance of the wave absorber using a punching plate. It was found that the reflection coefficient of wave absorber is deeply dependent on both the porosity and the submerged depth of a punching plate. Inclined installation of a punching plate shows better performance than a horizontal one within a certain inclined angle.

Development of Complementary Mild-slope Equation for Stream Function Over Permeable Bed (투수층에 적용 가능한 흐름함수방식의 확장형 완경사방정식의 개발)

  • In this study, wave damping due to a permeable bed of finite depth was modelled using a complementary mild-slope equation for stream function. The energy dissipating term in the mild-slope equation was presented in terms of stream function. In order to prevent re-reflection of reflected waves along the outer boundary, a delta-function-shaped source function was derived to generate a wave in a computational domain. Numerical experiments were conducted to measure the reflection coefficient of waves over a planar slope for various incident wave periods. The numerical result of the proposed model was compared with that of an integral equation method, showing good agreement in general. However, the proposed model showed relatively higher transmission rate for the larger permeability and the longer wavelength.

Effects of tsunami waveform on overtopping and inundation on a vertical seawall (직립호안에서 지진해일 파형이 월파와 침수에 미치는 영향)

  • In order to generate the stable tsunami in a numerical wave tank, a two-dimensional numerical model, LES-WASS-2D has been introduced the non-reflected wave generation system for various tsunami waveforms. And then, comparing to existing experimental results it is revealed that computed results of the LES-WASS-2D are in good agreement with the experimental results on spatial and temporal tsunami waveforms in the vicinity of a seawall. It is shown that the applied model in this study is applicable to the numerical simulations on tsunami overtopping and inundation. Using the numerical results, the characteristics of overtopping and inundation on a seawall are also discussed with volume ratio of tsunami and relative tsunami height. The wider the tsunami waveform, tsunami overtopping quantity and inundation distances are linearly increased. Therefore, the hydraulic characteristics is highly likely to be underestimated against the real tsunami if the solitary wave of approximation theory is applied for the overtopping/inundation simulations due to a tsunami.

Systematization for Approach Method of Economic Geography in Korea (한국경제지리학 접근방법의 체계화)

  • This study examines the epistemological approach of the economic geography and the approach in the ontology of geography which has been studied based on the region, and thereby aims at the systematization of economic geography. Since 1956, Korean economic geography study has been conducted under the development of studies in developed countries without discussing the uniqueness of the study or the systematization of the research approaches. As a result, the systematization is built after the economic geography is divided into neoclassical economy, geographical political economy, regional structure of the national economy, and local autonomous entity economy on a axis of epistemology and ontology for the systematization of approaches. We should pursue the intellectual change adding the major economic phenomena theories such as the world-system perspective, the regulation theory, network theory, and the institutionalism etc. into the systematization of the economic geography.

Effect of Harmonic Generation and Countermeasures (고조파발생에 따른 영향과 대책 연구)

  • Skyscrapers, large business buildings, and IT consumers use many appliances, and the electrical power stems can cause fires by overheating. This can result in damaged capacitors, lost data, rising ground potential, and communication obstacles from linear or nonlinear high frequency. To make sure of that we investigated 7 spots of a building, among which 6-spots were fair but the other one needed high frequency control. Spots 3, 6, and 7 needed diagnostic workup, and spots 2, 3, and 5 considered 5 high frequency currents. A phase is all of good but the high frequency current is greater than the standard level except for spot 1. As a result, a zigzag transformer or active filter needs to be installed, and the efficiency needs to be upgraded by investigating load unbalance factors and power factors.
