Impact of Entrepreneurial Behavior and Environment on Economic Growth based on Country Data - Focusing on Moderating Effect of Trade and Innovation - (기업가적 행동과 환경이 국가 경제성장에 미치는 영향 - 무역과 혁신의 조절효과를 중심으로 -)

  • Given the increasing importance of entrepreneurship in a nation's economic growth, this study empirically examined the effect of entrepreneurial behavior and environment on economic growth based on country level data. While previous studies have centered on entrepreneurship as a dominant variable that impacts economic growth, this study has extends the discussion by empirically testing the effects of two entrepreneurial variables, which are entrepreneurial behavior and entrepreneurial environment, on economic growth. Furthermore, the study attempted to examine the moderating effects of trade and innovation on the relation between the independent variables and economic growth. According to the panel analysis using data from GEM and World Bank, both entrepreneurial behavior and environment affected national economic growth, completely or partly. Results showed that opportunity-driven entrepreneurial behavior has a significant effect on economic growth, suggesting that qualitative aspect of entrepreneurial activities are critical to economic growth. The results also indicated that both trade and innovation have significant moderating effects on the relationship between governmental support program and economic growth.

  • 현재 국내 주요 하천의 홍수예경보시스템 운영과 다목적댐의 홍수조절관리를 위하여 수문학적 모형의 하나인 저류함수모형(Storage Function Model)을 사용하고 있다. 저류함수모형은 산지가 많은 유역에 적합하도록 개발된 모형으로, 계산절차가 간편하고 홍수유출의 비선형성을 고려할 수 있는 방법이므로 선형모형보다 합리적이라고 알려져 있다. 그러나 저류함수모형을 실제 홍수유출현상에 적용하는데 있어 매개변수를 결정하는 것이 매우 어렵다. 현재 매개변수들을 결정할 수 있는 객관적이고 합리적인 방법이 제시되어 있지 않기 때문에 모형의 매개변수를 결정할 때 경험식을 이용하거나 수문기술자의 판단에 의한 보정에 의존하고 있다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 홍수통제소에서 사용하고 있는 저류함수 모형의 대표(평균) 매개변수와 경험식, 시행착오법(trial & error method) 및 최적화기법(optimization technique) 중에 Rosenbrock 방법을 이용하여 매개변수를 산정하고 이들을 비교 분석하고자 한다.

  • 현재 국내에서 주로 사용되고 있는 홍수기 다목적 댐의 홍수조절효과에 대한 정량적인 평가지표로는 유량조절률, 저수지 방류율, 저수지 저류율, 저수지 이용률 등이 있다. 이러한 평가지표들은 유입량, 방류량, 저류량 등의 자료를 단순 비교하는 방법을 사용하고 있는데, 홍수조절효과 평가지표 산정식에 사용되는 자료들이 가지는 불확실성이 평가에 고려되지 못하고 있으며, 다목적댐에서 얻을 수 있는 자료만을 사용함으로써 댐 하류 지점에서의 홍수조절효과를 평가하지 못하고 있다. 또한 수자원 시스템의 설계에 있어서 허용 가능한 부분적인 실패를 고려하지 못하는 등의 문제점이 존재하므로, 홍수조절효과를 정량화 할 수 있는 새로운 지표의 개발이 요구된다. 본 연구에서는 각종 변수들이 가지는 불확실성, 댐 하류지점에서의 홍수조절효과, 수자원 시스템에서 허용 가능한 부분적 실패를 고려하기 위하여 홍수조절효과 정량화 지표 개발에 퍼지집합 이론을 적용하였고, 충주댐 유역을 시험 유역으로 선정하여 연구를 수행하였다. 대상 홍수사상으로는 2006년도 7월의 홍수사상을 적용하였으며 그에 따른 인자들을 퍼지화하고 시스템의 상태로부터 허용 가능한 부분적인 실패 영역을 구분하였고, 통합 신뢰도-취약도 지수를 적용하여 홍수조절효과 정량화 지표를 개발하였다. 적용 결과, 본 연구를 통하여 개발된 통합 신뢰도-취약도 지수는 저수지의 홍수조절효과를 보다 구체적이고 객관화하여 나타낼 수 있었다.

A Meta-Analysis on the Variables Related with Job Satisfaction of Social Workers (사회복지사의 직무만족 영향 요인에 관한 메타분석)

  • This study conducted a meta-analysis on the studies related with job satisfaction of social workers. For data analysis, journals, theses, and dissertations published between 1990 and 2013 were reviewed systematically. Through this process, this study calculated average effect size of each variable and explored moderator variables. The study results were as follows. First, this study significantly identified 27 variables related with job satisfaction of social workers. Second, the results indicated that large effect size variables included empowerment, organizational climates, supervision, relationship with boss, leadership, social support, work environment, reward system factor, self-esteem, work autonomy. Third, moderator analyses were conducted utilizing characteristics of organization. Moderate effects were identified in the following variables including role conflict, specialization, recognition, promotion, relationship with peer, supervision. Finally, the implications of the study findings were discussed.

  • This study analyzed empirically the same data through SPSS statistics(regression analysis) and AMOS program(structural equation model) used for cause and effect analysis. The result of empirical analysis of moderation effect was as follows. Meanwhile, SPSS statistics(regression analysis) did not pictured moderation effect in the categorical data(sex) and continous data(satisfaction of consunting), AMOS program(structural equation model) pictured partial moderation effect about the effecting of consultant's capability and attitude on the consulting repurchase within 10% level of significant. Eventually, This study showed that AMOS program and SPSS statistics used different methology in moderation effect, thus the different outcomes appeared although using the same data.

  • The purpose of this paper is to examine the effect of interpersonal face-to-face offline on identification-based trust and reciprocity norm in online world, and the effect of identification-based trust and reciprocity norm on the intention and behavior of sharing information in online world. To understand the moderating role, the importance of information was established as a moderating variable, and an empirical analysis was conducted, focusing on the undergraduate. The results of this study are as follows. It was found that interpersonal face-to-face in offline world affects identification-based trust and reciprocity norm in online positively. A reciprocity norm of identification-based trust and reciprocity norm in online world affected by interpersonal face-to-face in offline world has a positive effect on the intention and behavior of sharing information in online, but showed that identification-based trust does not affect them significantly. And reciprocity norm has significant relationship with information sharing behavior through the intention to share information. It was found to be a partial moderating effect of importance of information on the relationship among the reciprocity norm and the intention and behavior of sharing information.

  • This study explores the moderating effects of economic stress in the relationship between organizational devotion and emotional self-sufficiency of the self-sufficient program participants. 698 persons who lived in Taegu participated in this study. Multiple regression analysis was adopted. Results indicate that higher level of organizational devotion is positively related to the higher self-sufficiency. In addition, economic stress moderated the effect of organizational devotion on emotional self-sufficiency. Practical implications of this study are two folds; One is that in order to increase emotional self-sufficiency, sense of community should be put into consideration; The other is that approach for decreasing economic stress should be included in the program for self-sufficiency. Overall, this study lays a groundwork for the self-sufficiency of the participants in the self-sufficient program.

The Relationship between Customer-Employee Exchange and Organizational Commitment: the moderating effects of Big 5 character-types (고객-종업원 교환관계와 조직몰입 간의 관계: Big 5 성격유형의 조절효과)

  • The purpose of this study is to inquire into the relationship between customer-employee exchange and organizational commitment. To achieve the purpose of this study, preliminary studies on customer-employee exchange, Big 5 character-types and organizational commitment after an overview of these variables were examined to design research models and set up research issues. To verify the research issues, a survey was carried out on employees at beauty shops located in Seoul, Gyeonggi, Busan and Ulsan areas. Questionnaires of collected 374 copies were used for a statistical analysis. The results of empirical analysis disclosed in this study are summarized as follows. First, customer-employee exchange had a positive effect on organizational commitment. Second, conscientiousness and openness of Big 5 character-types had a moderating effect on the relationship between customer-employee exchange and organizational commitment. But extraversion, neuroticism and agreeableness of Big 5 character-types had no moderating effect. The implications available through findings stated above are as follows. First, this study confirmed that good customer-employee exchange improves members' emotional commitment to organization. Second, in practical perspective, it may be effective to select employees with high openness and conscientiousness of character traits.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of the rural migration factors, degree of preparation for migration, lifestyle conditions and support policies reflected against the family satisfaction of the migration. In this study family factors were used as control variables. Independent variables for this study will consist of the factors of rural migration, the degree of preparation for migration, living conditions of the farmers and the support policies, where as the dependent variable is the satisfaction of migration with an adjusting factor of the family satisfaction which will be further analysed to identify its effects on the dependent variable. For this study, a questionnaire survey was conducted for the residents and 237 valid questionnaires were collected. Multiple regression analysis was performed based on the collected data where demographic attributes being the controlling variable, and regression analysis was performed for the adjusting variable of the family. As the economic factor increases, the level of satisfaction generated to be higher in rural migration. As for the degree of preparation, living condition and support policies resulted, great quantity of green nature, safety and agriculture startup support, respectively, indicated a positive effect to the satisfaction level of migration. From the results, adjustment effect of the family factors on the economic, nature, convenience and satisfaction of the migration have appeared. The conclusion of this study is that policy support, regional stability, and economic gain are the most important factors to increase satisfaction and to reduce re-migration rate to city.

  • We investigated how entrepreneurship, information technology acceptance, and media utilization influence on office worker commitment and how effects are modulated by learning orientation. The purpose of this study is to identify variables that influence on office worker commitment. To do so, entrepreneurship, information technology acceptance, and media utilization that are the core competencies of individuals and organizations in the era of smart information are proposed as predictor variables, office worker commitment as a outcome variable and learning orientation as a modulator. For this study, a questionnaire survey was conducted on office workers, and finally 340 valid questionnaires are used for analysis. Hierarchical regression analysis is used with demographic characteristics as control variables and learning orientation as a modulating variables. A result showed that the higher need for achievement and proactiveness of entrepreneurship is, the higher job commitment is and that the perceived usefulness of information technology acceptance and communication utilization ability of media utilization competitiveness have a positive effect on job commitment. A research showed that learning orientation is modulating the relationship between entrepreneurship and job commitment, and between media utilization capability and job commitment, respectively. We concluded that we should actively seek synergies of learning orientation along with accumulation of online communication utilization capacity and perceived usefulness of information technology, and of proactiveness need for achievement and in entrepreneurship in order to improve the work committment in the smart information society where the digital environment is advanced.
