Improvement of Fuel Economy in a Diesel Engine by Application of Low Pressure EGR System (디젤 엔진의 연비 향상을 위한 저압 배기재순환 시스템의 적용에 관한 연구)

  • LP(low pressure)-EGR system was investigated to evaluate its potential on fuel economy improvement and NOx emission reduction in a diesel engine. A diesel engine was tested for the evaluation of LP-EGR system at both of steady-state and transient test. For a transient test, control logic for LP-EGR valve operation was developed and a NEDC mode test was conducted by using a vehicle status simulation test. The steady-state results showed that LP-EGR system can reduce more NOx emission or fuel consumption comparing to the conventional HP(high pressure)-EGR. From the NEDC mode test, this LP-EGR system showed a possibility to improve fuel economy without a penalty of emissions.

  • XML is the most common tool for data processing and data transmission in web applications. Policies are extensively used in all online business solutions and it is recognized that abinary decision such as 'yes/no' for access requests is not enough. In this paper, a method is developed to convert policy rules with provisions and obligations in logic formula formats into XML formats. The primary purpose is to enable security policy programmers to write flexible authorization policies in XML and to implement them easily. General syntaxes are defined to specify information for users, objects and actions in XML formats and an XML DTD is developed to specify authorization rules with these three components. To support various security features such as data transcoding and non-repudiation depending on data in addition to access control based on authorization policies, studies for specifying them in XML policy rules will be performed in the future.

  • The Engineering Model of STSAT-2 on-board computer(OBC) was developed and tested completely with other sub-systems. The on-board computer of STSAT-2 has a high- performance PowerPC processors and a structure of centralized network communication. In addition, a lot of logics are implemented by Field Programmable Gate Array, such as interrupt controller, watchdog timer and UART. It could make the weight and size of OBC lighter and smaller. Also, the STSAT-2 on-board computer has more improved tolerance against Single Event Upsets and faults than that of the STSAT-1.

  • In this paper, as a compatible software radio transmission system, Digital-Radio conversion system which can directly change the digital signal generated by the logic circuit into radio signal is proposed. By the vector synthesis method, the digital signals can change directly into radio signal. If such a circuit is realized, RF circuit and an antenna can be composed by the simple one device, and the radio is directly controlled and performed by the software processing which is the essence of software radio. This Digital-Radio conversion system of this paper give many number of communication channels being offered by PN code and offer a hardware design flexibility by digitization, therefore it decrease the percentage ratio of hardware of system and give a more flexible function of software basis. In this paper, the principle of digital to radio signal generation algorithm is explained and the performance characteristics of proposed algorithm is shown in time base by the computer simulation method.

  • The conventional drive system of SRM has a current sensor per each phase. The torque demand signal generated by the outer control loop is translated into individual current reference signal for each phase. The torque is controlled by regulating these currents. Using the SRM in a variable-speed control, the phase currents are generally regulated to achieve a square wave. The simplest form of current regulation uses fixed frequency delta modulation of the phase voltages. The aim of this paper is to regulate 3-phases current of SRM by only single current sensor using delta modulation with digital chip. In this paper, the asymmetric bridge converter which is able to control independently phases and be excited simultaneously is used as the driver system for 6/4 poles SRM. And the current sensor is replaced 3 sensors of each phase with only one on bus line of converter so as to detect current of every phase. The proposed delta modulation technique has been implemented in a simple digital logic circuit using EPLD(Electrically Programmable Logic Device). This method is verified through simulation and experiment results.

  • Most of the electronics we use today have built-in microcontrollers, which are called embedded systems. In such a small environment, responsiveness is very important for the microcontroller. In this paper, the basic input/output control, timer/counter interrupt operation principle, and understanding of the microcontroller are described. Program logic is proposed to improve throughput and latency by controlling characteristics of service routine and program execution order. The hardware simulations in this paper were verified using ATmega128 and PIC16F877A from Atmel and Microchip.

  • 본 논문에서는 센서노드들을 관리 대상이 되는 지상시설물에 부착하여 다양한 사건 및 상황 감지 기능을 가지고 수집한 데이터를 특정 메시지 형식으로 정의하여 IP(Internet Protocol) 네트워크에 연결된 운용자 시스템에 전달하는 센싱 데이터 수집 및 전달 서비스 개발에 관한 사항들을 기술한다. 센싱 데이터 수집 및 전달 서비스는 게이트웨이 시스템에 설치되는 순수 소프트웨어이며, 센서네트워크의 싱크노드로 부터 센싱 데이터를 수집하여 XML 형식으로 구성되어 IP 네트워크에 연결된 운용자 시스템에 전달된다. 또한, 센싱 데이터 수집 및 전달 서비스는 운용자가 요구하는 센서네트워크 제어 서비스 컴포넌트, 센싱 데이터 수집에 관한 특성 변경 서비스 컴포넌트, 센싱 데이터 보고 서비스 컴포넌트, XML 파서/인코더, C-구조체 메시지 파서/인코더 컴포넌트 등의 추가 및 변경이 용이한 유연한 소프트웨어 구조를 갖도록 서비스 로직 개념을 도입하였다.

  • The interest in reducing the emissions and increasing the fuel economy of ICE vehicles has prompted research on hybrid vehicles, which come in the series, parallel, and power-split types. This study focuses on the series-type hybrid electric vehicle, which has a simple structure. Because each component of a series hybrid vehicle is larger than the corresponding component of the parallel type, the sizing of the vehicle is very important. This is because the performance may be greater or less than what is required. Thus, in this research, the optimal fuel economy was determined and simulated in a real-world system. The optimal sizing was achieved based on the motor, engine/generator, and battery for 13 cycles, where DP was used. The model was developed using ASCET or a Simulink-Amisim Co-simulation platform on the rapid controller prototype, ES-1000.

  • A DC-DC Converter operates in CCM(Continuous Coundcution Mode), DCM(Discontinuous Conduction Mode), CRM(Critical Conduction Mode). The CRM is boundary between CCM and DCM. If a DC-DC converter is designed to operate in CRM, its inductor volume can decrease and power loss which caused by switch and diode can decrease. In this paper, the DC-DC converter which operates in CRM is applied to a solar array regulator(SAR) for the satellite. The switching frequency of the CRM boost SAR changes according to input and output condition. The switching frequency limit logic is applied to limit the maximum switching frequency. Meanwhile, the small signal transfer function of the CRM boost SAR is simple, so the controller design is also simple. In this paper, the small signal transfer function from control reference to solar array voltage is induced. And the voltage controller is designed based on the small signal transfer function. Finally, the CRM boost SAR is verified by simulation.

The Design of Process-Engine for Distributed Workflow Management System based on Web (웹기반 분산워크플로우 관리시스템의 프로세스 엔진 설계)

  • It has a tendency to build Workflow Systems based on the web with the spread of web environment. The important function in Workflow Systems are to automatize job flow according to the predefined regulations, procedures or conditions. Hence, there needs to consider excluding passive jobs, supporting GUI and a migratory information processing for information flow. Distributed Workflow System for workflow of a distributed service system should perform transfer control and Fault-Tolerance between tasks based on process logic, and real time processing. However, the existing mail systems being used are just for transmission and it doesn't fit to automatize job flow. To solve the matter, there needs a Distributed Workflow Engine to design workflow and automatize its control. In this paper, we design a web browser with graphic interface using web mail, a browser creating a script code for a procedural performance. Also, we design a Process-engine has a Preprocessor which tolerates process scheduler for task transaction or server node's faults on distributed environment. The proposed system enhances the reliability and usability of a system reduces the cost rather than a workflow system based on database, for they execute as proxy for a server's fault or suers' absence.
