Controller Performance Analysis of 3-level inverter STATCOM for balancing DC Link Voltage (3-레벨 인버터식 STATCOM의 상.하단 직류캐패시터의 전압평형유지를 위한 제어기 특성 분석)

  • This paper describes dynamic performance analysis of a STATCOM based on 3-level inverter. Major attention is focused on the controller design for 3-level inverter, including regulator design for voltage sharing across the dc link capacitors. A detailed simulation model was developed with Matlab and a scaled hardware model was built and tested to verify the proposed approach. Both simulation and experimental results confirm that the developed controller can regulate the reactive power. The developed controller could be effectively applied to the actual hardware system for STATCOM.

  • Electromagnetic control valves have been used for almost 20 years. As the solenoid modulating technology advances, its applications are extending to various industrial fields such as nuclear and fossil fuel power plants, chemical plants and refineries. Proportional solenoid valve for large flow control is designed with two-stage configuration to meet the required actuating force on the main disc and its position is stabilized by the self-controlled system. In this research, main disc dynamics is analyzed with linearized system model which is derived from the mathematical equations describing its nonlinear behavior. Major design parameters of the valve control system that affect the response and stability are also studied with root locus method. The linear dynamic analysis results are verified with simulations in time-domain.

  • This study focuses on the element configuration of hybrid mounts which are combined with passive elements and active elements. The seven configurations are presented according to connection of an active element to a passive element. The dynamic characteristics and control performance of them are investigated qualitatively using Bode plots. With reference to the transmitted force from internal to external, three cases are selected. In addition, some numerical simulations for the three cases are carried out to confirm the performance quantitatively. Based on this research results, a novel hybrid mount with excellent performance will be able to be developed.

  • A two-step alternating direction explicit method is developed to solve the space-dependent reactor kinetics equations in two space dimensions. As a special case in the general class of alternating direction implicit methods, this method is analysed for accuracy and stability. To test the validity of this method it is compared with the implicit-difference method used in the TWIGL program. It is shown that the two methods are closely related. The time dependent neutron fluxes of the pressurized water reactor (PWR), during control rod insertion, and, of the CANDU-PHW reactor, in case of postulated loss of coolant accident, are obtained from the numerical calculation results.

  • The step to obtain a process dynamic model through process experiments is very important because it needs times and expenditures. Step response method is one of the standard methods to have long been used for understanding process dynamics, obtaining dynamical models and designing control systems. For the step response, it is usually required to measure process output for a step input change in the open-loop manner. Its disadvantage criticized is the long open-loop operation. For this, a method based on the time-optimal control technique to minimize the test time for obtaining the step response has been recently presented. However, the method requires iterative computations for the minimization of test times. Here, a method where iterative computations are not required is proposed. Simulation results are presented to show that test times to obtain step responses are reduced considerably and an autotuning method based on the proposed method is compared with the relay feedback autotuning method accepted widely for the autotuning of controllers.

  • 본 논문에서는 유도 전동기의 V/f 운전 시 동손을 최소로 하는 제어 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 방법은 V/f 운전 시 부하에 따라 최소 동손 제어가 가능하도록 고정자 전압 크기를 가변하여 부하 변동에 따른 동특성 향상과 효율적인 구동이 가능하게 하였다. 5HP 유도 전동기 구동시스템에 대한 시뮬레이션을 통해 제안된 기법의 효용성을 검증하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 넓은 입/출력 변화를 가지는 비절연형 LLC 공진형 직류-직류 변환기의 제어기 설계 및 동특성에 대해서 설명한다. 먼저, 변환기의 동작 영역을 확인하고 각각의 동작점에서 변환기의 소신호 해석을 한다. 그 후에 소신호 특성을 바탕으로 적절한 보상기 회로를 구성하는 방안을 제시한다. 마지막으로 제시된 보상기 회로의 타당성을 컴퓨터를 통한 가상 실험과 실제적인 측정을 비교하며 확인한다.

  • 선형전동기는 위치 및 속도 제어기구로 빠른 속도와 강한 추력 정확한 위치 제어가 가능하다. 선형전동기의 성능 향상 및 소형화를 위해서는 추력의 최대화가 요구되는데, 일반적으로 추력을 계산하는 방법으로 유한요소법, 등가자기회로망법 등이 있다. 본 연구에서는 유한요소법을 이용하여 정자장 해석인 정특성과 과도해석인 동특성을 분석하였다. 향후 정특성과 동특성의 결과를 통해서 시제품의 실험결과와 비교 분석하여 동특성해석에 대한 검증을 수행할 것이다.
