Evaluation of Pullout Capacity of Anchors by Bonded Length through Model Test (모형시험을 통한 정착길이별 앵커의 인발저항력 평가)

  • A series of pullout tests to compression type anchors is conducted. The test is carried out on a couple of steel cables installed in sandy soil with 60% of relative density. The test is performed with 6 different bonded lengths, which are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 times longer than the initial bonded length (Lc =30 mm). A numerical analysis with the same condition as the test is also performed to compare each other. Finally, those results are compared with theoretical result by Oosterbaan and Gifford (1972). The result shows that the ultimate pullout capacity appears to increase with an increase of bonded length, and that the results of test, numerical analysis and theoretical approach have a good agreement in the ultimate pullout capacity at failure.

Colonizing Pattern of Fluorescent Pseudomonads on the Cucumber Seed and Rhizoplane (형광성 Pseudomonas屬 균주의 오이 종자처리 후 근권에서의 밀도와 정착양상)

  • Number of bacterial isolates were collected from high mountainous areas at various locations in the whole country to select promising biocontrol agents. Most of selected isolates belonged to fluorescent pseudomonads. Population densities of fluorescent pseudomonads were examined by DLF method. Alll selected isolates rapidly multiplied on spermosphere after seed inoculation upto 24, and then the population abruptly declined. When seeds were germinated fully, bacteria moved to newly emerging radicle. The good root colonizing isolates, B16 and V13 proliferated on the growing root and moved down to the root tip and lateral roots. but the poor root colonizing isolates, MC07 and X01 moved much slower. Scanning electron microscopic observations showed that the cells of the good colonizing isolates were arranged linearly on the growing root and parallel to growing root axis and continuously existed on the root tip, Whereas the cells of poorly colonizing isolates were gathered and scattered randomly on the root surface.

  • In this paper, the load transfer test of Korean PS anchorage system was conducted for 1860MPa PS strand and 2200MPa PS strand. The test is in compliance with ETAG013. All the anchorage system tested satisfied the allowance criteria of the test for 1860MPa PS strand but only one of the anchorage systems for 2200MPa PS strand. In order to generally use 2200MPa PS strand to prestressed concrete structures, new anchorage systems shall be developed.

  • 지반 앵커(이하에서는 "앵커"로 칭한다)는 앵커두부, 자유부, 정착부로 나누어져 있다. 현재 주로 사용되고 있는 앵커는 지반과 앵커체 표면의 마찰저항력에 의해 지지하는 마찰방식이며, 앵커체에 발생하는 응력에 따라 크게 인장형과 압축형 앵커로 나누어진다. 그런데, 현재까지 이들 앵커의 설계 및 극한하중의 결정은 대부분이 인장형 앵커에 대한 것으로서, 긴장시 압축형 앵커의 선단정착부의 응력집중으로 이한 그라우트 압축저항에 대해서는 명확히 연구되어져 있지 않다. 본 연구에서는, 현장과 비슷한 조건에서 실내시험을 실시하여 선잔 장착부 그라우트의 보강형식에 따른 압축거동특성과 보강효과, 지반의 구속(정지와 포아송 구속)을 고려한 압축형 앵커의 선단 정착부 그라우트 압축저항력 산정식을 제안하였다.정식을 제안하였다.

  • The wood-concrete composite can be effectively applied for bridge superstructure, and the concept of fully composite action between each member is one of the most important consideration. Until now, related researches have been done mainly in North America and EU countries not enough to cover the fundamental studies. Therefore, this study is planned to perform one of the important issue for using the wood-concrete composite. The objective of this study is evaluation of shear performance with different anchorage length of steel rebar in wood. Prediction of the yield mode and the reference design value was firstly performed as the preliminary investigation. Then, initial stiffness, yield load and maximum load were derived from the shear test due to different anchorage length of the steel rebar (SD30A in Korean Standard) in wood. It was found out from this study that initial stiffness and yield load are not related with the anchorage length over 20 mm of anchorage length while maximum load shows increasing tendency till 60 mm of anchorage length. Pullout strength of inserted steel rebar in wood is considered to be one reason and this was also verified with the x-ray radiography.

  • In series of pasture improvement studies with herbicides on nonarable hilly area, the effects of different cutting intervals (10, 20, 30 and 40 days) after glyphosate (2.9 kg/ha active ingredient) application on establishment and development of surface-sown orchardgrass(Dactylis glomerata L.) and ladino clover (Trifolium repens L.) was measured during 1983-1984. The cutting intervals of the existing shrubs after glyphosate application had no differential effect on establishment, seedling vigor, dry matter yield of surface-sown pasture species and botanical composition of improved pasture. Results showed that good control of the existing shrubs for surface-sown pasture species can be achieved by cutting the shrubs from 10 to 40 days after glyphosate application.

Seed Coating Effect on Establishment and Early Growth of Over Sown Pasture Species (종자피복이 겉뿌림 목초의 정착과 초기 생육에 미치는 영향)

  • An experiment was conducted to evaluate the effects of seed coating on germination and early growth of tall fescue (Festuca arundinacea Schr.), orchardgrass (Dactylis glomerata L.), and alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) over sown on unploughed hilly and forested areas. Establishment and early growth of coated tall fescue and orchardgrass on unploughed hilly area were not significantly influenced by seed coating. Establishment and early growth of coated alfalfa on unploughed hilly area were higher than non-coated and showed 4.7% and 4.0 g/m2, respectively. Establishment of coated tall fescue (11.8%) on forested area were higher than noncoated (0.3%), but ealy growth of tall fescue was not significantly influences by seed coating. Establishment of over sown orchardgrass on forested area was not significantly affected by seed coating, but early growth of coated seed (18.7%) was better than that of non-coated (0.3%). Establishment of coated alfalfa on forested area were higher than those of non-coated. Results of this study indicate that the establishment and early growth of over sown tall fescue, orchardgrass, and alfalfa could be improved by seed coating.

A Study on the Basic Development Length of GFRP Rebar With Ribs (이형 GFRP 보강근의 기본정착길이에 대한 연구)

  • GFRP rebar with ribs resemble those of deformed steel rebar was developed in 2005. It was reported that ribs of the GFRP rebar were sheared off due to the lower shear strength of polymer. In this study, the basic development length of the GFRP rebar was investigated through pull-out tests, models specified in ACI440.1R-03 and -06, and empirical model derived by Cosenza et al. (2002). As a results of pull-out tests, the critical embeddment length, which is defined as the length when failure mode is changed from pull-out to bar fracture, was 20 times of bar diameter for GFRP rebar and was 15 times for steel rebar. It is believed that the basic development of the GFRP rebar is 21 times of bar diameter, which is determined from the application of average bond strength into the model equation specified in ACI440.1R-03. Compared to the model equation in ACI440.1R-06, that in ACI440.1R-03 is recommendable for design purpose. The Cosenza et al.'s model underestimates the basic development length of the GFRP rebar.

Effect of T-Plate Anchorage on the Flexural Behavior of Reinforced Concrete Columns Strengthened with Wire Rope Units (와이어로프로 보강된 철근콘크리트 기둥의 휨 거동에 대한 강판 정착의 영향)

  • Two strengthened columns and an unstrengthened control column were tested to failure under cyclic lateral load combined with a constant axial load to effect of anchorage of T-shaped steel plate in the strengthened column using wire rope units. Main variables considered were anchorage method of T-shaped steel plate. Tested columns were compared with those of conventionally tied columns tested by research of before. Test results showed that lateral load capacity and the displacement ductility ratio of anchorage of T-shaped steel plate in the strengthened column increased 40% and 130% than unstrengthened column, respectively. In particular, at the same effective lateral reinforcement index, a much ductility ratio was observed in the strengthened columns than in the tied columns.
