  • This study aimed to analyze the mediating effect of conflict resolution strategies of college students on subjective well-being through adaptation to college life and to verify the moderating effect by mentalization. The study subjects were 248 college students. As a result of the study, first, the positive conflict resolution strategy, compromise and cooperation strategy, had a significant direct effect on subjective well-being, and a mediating effect through adaptation to university life. Second, concession, avoidance, and domination strategies showed significant mediated moderating effects of mentalization through adaptation to college life. Third, the moderating effect of mentalization was significant in the direct effect of concession and avoidance strategies on subjective well-being. Through these results, there was verification on the importance of a positive conflict resolution strategy, and a discussion on the harmful effects of concession, avoidance, and domination strategies by the level of mentalization on college students' adaptation and subjective well-being.

  • Somatization is regarded as a process rather than a diagnostic entity. It should be emphasized to identify psychopathology rather than to make a choice regarding diagnosis in assessing somatizing patients. Psychiatrists should be aware of the psychosocial cues underlying the patients' physical symptoms. Special skills and strategies are required by nonpsychiatric physicians to facilitate the patients' acceptance of psychiatric treatment. The goal of treatment for somatization is management but not cure. The approach should be flexible, depending on the patients' responses and need. The difficulty in diagnosing and treating somatization is likely to be related to abnormal illness behavior such as the patients' denial of their psychosocial problems and resistance to psychiatric approach. In conclusion, biopsychosocial approach is needed to treat these patients effectively. Psychiatrists should also teach other physicians the interview skill that they could identify these patients as early as possible and facilitate their acceptance of psychiatric treatment.

  • In the era of creative economy emphasizing creativity and entrepreneurship, the Korean small and medium-sized enterprises(SMEs) never ignore them. Especially, firms, that would like to penetrate into international markets and hence survive in them, must have creativity and entrepreneurship. Nevertheless, little study has been studied the casual relationships of the variables comprehensively. Therefore, based on small and medium-sized exporters, this study would like to investigate empirically the relationships among the creativity, the entrepreneurship, and the level of internationalization. According to the research results, firstly, creativity has positive and significant effects on entrepreneurship. Moreover, entrepreneurship has a positive and significant effect on the level of internationalization. Finally, it was found that entrepreneurship partially mediated the relationships between the creativity and the level of internationalization. These results implied that creativity and entrepreneurship can play a pivotal role in improving the level of internationalization.

  • Objectives : To identify the relationship between somatization, stress, depression, anxiety, and psychological symptoms risk for nurses working in the intensive care unit. Create clinical evidence of psychosomatic medicine research and complement the meaning of somatization. Methods : Seventy of the mental health checkups conducted by the National Mental Health Center among the nurses using tools including Perceived Stress scale, Fatigue Severity Scale, Patient Health questionnaire-15, Korean Beck Depression Inventory, Korean Beck Anxiety Inventory, and Symptom Checklist-90-Revision. Results : 12.9% of the patients experienced more than moderate somatization. There was no statistical relationship between somatization and psychological stress perception, but feeling of anxiety and decreased self-confidence were related to the level of somatization. The group with severe somatization experienced more depression and anxiety. The group with high physical fatigue also had no statistical relationship with psychological stress perception, but had an effect on the feeling of tension, stress, or decreased control. Physical fatigue level was increased by experience of depression, not by anxiety. For psychological symptoms the higher the level of somatization, the higher the obsession and hostility was explored. In the linear regression model, stress, depression, and anxiety accounted for 39.3% of somatization and 16.1% of physical fatigue symptoms. Conclusions : We can estimate the decrease in stress cognitive symptoms, accompanying depression and anxiety, compulsion and hostility as characteristics of somatization. The causal relationship between somatization and psychological symptoms cannot be confirmed in this study, but the interrelationships are observed, can be referred to mediation strategies.
