Abstract

The purpose of this study was to verify the mediating effect of mentalization in the relationship between insecure adult attachment and resilience. A total of 468 data were collected by requesting a survey to an online research company. The collected data were subjected to descriptive statistics and hierarchical regression analysis using spss 25.0. The Sobel test was conducted to verify the mediating effect of mentalization. The research results are as follows. First, there was a significant correlation between attachment anxiety, attachment avoidance, mentalization, and resilience. Second, the mediating effect of mentalization was found to be significant in the relationship between attachment anxiety and resilience, and a complete mediating effect was found. Third, the mediating effect of mentalization in the relationship between attachment avoidance and resilience was found to be insignificant. Through the results of this study, the relationship between insecure adult attachment and resilience was reconfirmed, and the role of mentalization in the relationship between them was also confirmed.
