Optimal Calibration Interval Analysis Method through the Goodness of Fit Test of Measurement Reliability Models based on Maintenance Data (정비 데이터 기반 측정신뢰성 모델 적합성 검정에 의한 최적 교정주기 분석 기법)

  • TMDE(Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment) which is using in the military weapon system should perform the periodic calibration to maintain a measurement reliability during the life cycle, organizations are faced with increasing pressures to minimize costs while improving the reliability of test equipment. Previous studies suggest that reliability models are determined by considering simple size and characteristics of equipment, however an applying single Model may not be fit well maintenance data of many kinds of TMDEs. This paper presents that recommending an optimal calibration interval through the goodness of fit test with verifying statistical significance level among the several intervals which are computed with using major reliability models. According to the result of applying the actual proposed of calibration interval analysis method for various types of equipment, reliabilities are maintained for the end of calibration intervals.

  • The study of maintenance planning is important in military weapon systems because it can improve their availability and reduce the operational and maintenance cost during the total life cycle. In maintenance planning, it is important to determine the preventive maintenance task and its optimal interval. This paper focuses on the hard time task, which is one of the preventive maintenance tasks. A hard time task removes an item or restorative action before some specified maximum age limit to prevent functional failure. The Monte-Carlo simulation model was proposed to help understand the cost effectiveness of a hard time task. In the simulation, various shape parameters of the Weibull distribution and cost ratio of corrective maintenance to preventive maintenance were assumed. Using a Monte-Carlo simulation, a quantified cost saving effect and optimal preventive maintenance interval were suggested.

  • 컨테이너 터미널 장비들은 많은 부품들이 매우 복잡하게 구성되어 있으며, 고장 발생 시에 막대한 비용이 발생하게 된다. 본 연구에서는 컨테이너 터미널 장비의 신뢰도, 가용도, 정비도 향상을 위한 관리 시스템을 개발한다. 개발 시스템은 장비 구성 모듈, 장비 운영 관리 모듈, 정비 관리 모듈, 예비품 관리 모듈, 분석 모듈로 구성되어 있다. 장비의 신뢰도, 가용도, 정비도 향상을 위한 기술로 FMEA, 고장현황 분석, 수명 모수 추정법을 사용한다. 또한 산출된 수명 모수와 객체지향 시뮬레이션 모형으로 최적 예방 정비 주기를 결정하고 이를 이용하여 정비인원과 하루 최대 정비 가능 장비대수를 고려한 연간 최적 예방정비 일정을 결정한다.

  • Railroad rolling stock has long service life and a lot of maintenance cost running on rail by wear and vibration. And it is very important to get optimization of maintenance. This paper want to analyze rolling stock maintenance situation of KORAIL and find out its improvement methods. Especially, the purpose of this paper is to adopt the most effective maintenance period and methods to daily inspection which needs many maintenance manpower in rolling stock. Rolling stock has self-diagnosis function using computer system and the quality of rolling stock has much improved these days but current daily inspection repeat for short period routinely and it is very ineffective. Therefore, the paper adopt improved daily inspection period reflecting the characteristics of rolling stock, and want to secure reliability of rolling stock and minimize maintenance cost.

  • FRACAS (Failure Reporting, Analysis and Corrective Action System) is intended to provide management visibility and control for reliability and maintainability improvement of hardware and associated software by timely and disciplined utilization of failure and maintenance data to generate and implement effective corrective actions to prevent failure recurrence and to simplify or reduce the maintenance tasks. This process applies to acquisition for the design, development, fabrication, test, and operation of military systems, equipment, and associated computer programs. This paper shows the FRACAS development process and developed FRACAS system for a defense equipment.

  • Weapon systems have been developed with high technology electronic equipment due to technology growth. In addition, the capital, operational and maintenance costs of weapon systems have all increased. However, cost of operation and maintenance for weapon systems has been decreased relatively compared to the increased capital cost of weapon systems. Therefore, the defense industry needs to research the life cycle cost of weapon systems that have high operational and maintenance costs. This paper focuses on maintenance equipment for the operation and maintenance of weapon systems. Recently, it seems that the weapon systems that have periodic calibration with maintenance equipment are valid. The equipment requires periodic calibration by the manufacturer to check its own validation. Basically, customers demand high reliability devices from foreign companies that have qualified in the global market. Therefore, the tools need to be calibrated overseas. In other words, weapon systems are not available when the equipment has to be calibrated overseas because the systems require validation with valid maintenance equipment. A purpose of this paper is to compare the loss costs that arise from the calibration of the equipment overseas and the purchasing cost of the tools. Finally, the research shows the number of equipment that customers need to minimize the cost. This research will help to improve the efficiency of operation of weapon systems and solve the problems associated with the need for maintenance overseas.
