  • Multiprocessor system on chip (MPSoC) platforms has set a new innovative trend for the SoC design. Quality of service parameters and performance matrix are leading to the adoption of new design methodology for SoC, which will incorporate highly scalable, reusable, predictable, cost and energy efficient platform not only for underlying communication backbone but also for the entire system architecture of NOC. Like the layered architecture for the communication backbone of NOC, we have proposed the entire system architecture for NOC to be a seven layered architecture in itself. Such a platform can separate the domain specific issues which will model concurrency along with the synchronization issues more effectively. For such a layered architecture, model of computation will provide a framework to that can model concurrency and synchronization issues which are natural for any application. Therefore it becomes extremely important to use a right computation model in a specific NOC region.

  • Today, a web site is used as a strategic method to fulfill a company's objectives. In particular, a web site provides a service for customers to find satisfaction in visiting family restaurants, and it recently has helped to attract the interest of a variety of customers. Currently, companies that manage family restaurants operate their Web sites as strategic tools and use them to perform public relations and marketing of their restaurants. This effort influences management and helps to improve the business and profitability of family restaurants. The research model of this study is an expansion of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and examines whether ease of use and usefulness of family restaurant web sites influence the relationship of intention to use, actual use, and recommendation to use by gender. The results of this research would suggest that web sites are useful in establishing a marketing strategy for companies that operate family restaurants.

  • In order to reduce public medical expenses as well as to provide effective medical services, telemedicine between doctors and patients is considered as an alternative to the conventional hospital visit. But the medical community has been protesting the introduction of telemedicine for the efficacy and safety reasons. Korean government has been conducting a number of pilot projects to demonstrate the efficacy and safety of telemedicine for more than 10 years. However, still the system is not yet legalized. In this study, we have conducted a telemedicine pilot project in Cambodia for one year, where telemedicine can be more freely exercised. After the project, we conducted a survey based on the 'Rogers diffusion' theory. Survey results show that both physicians and patients are positive about the relative advantage of the telemedicine. However, the complexity and high cost of the equipment used in telemedicine has been found to be a possible obstacle. In addition, we found that there is no problem for providing telemedicine services under challenged environment, such as in Cambodia.

  • The Korean mobile telecom market has undergone a sea change since Apple created a new mobile ecosystem with Appstore and iPhone. Many non-telecom operators have been trying hard to come up with new business strategies to gain a competitive edge. The shifting competition landscape requires a new communications policy that can further stimulate the evolving market. This is why countries around the world are upgrading their communications policies: to renew the market foundation and better respond to the ever-changing industry environment. Using the ANP(Analytic Network Process) model, this study identifies policy variables and performs quantitative analysis on their priorities. The analysis results will help prioritize policy variables under the limited amount of resources, and serve as useful guidelines for making mobile ecosystem policies.

  • The purpose of this study is to provide relevant directions of media industry regulation and policy by analyzing the relationship between market concentration and performance in global pay TV markets. The market concentration has long been regulated in the media industry under the belief that it harms market efficiency and cultural diversity. As the global media market is undergoing significant chance accelerated by the advance of technology, it is necessary to examine the feasibility of this long myth. The data are collected from global 17 pay TV markets and analyzed to see whether the highly concentrated markets by a single player result in higher price and slower service penetration. The result indicates that the price is not escalated and the penetration is not limited even in the markets where a dominant player takes high market share. It implies that more diverse factors other than the market concentration affect the market performance and that maintaining strict regulation of the market concentration is likely to have negative effect on technology innovation.

  • The evolution of cloud computing over the past few years is potentially one of the major advances in information technology. However, if cloud computing is to achieve its potential, there needs to be a clear identification and understanding of the various issues involved, both from the perspectives of the providers and the consumers of the technology. While a lot of research is currently taking place in the technology itself, there is an equally urgent need for understanding the business-related issues surrounding cloud computing service. As more and more information on individuals and companies are placed in the cloud service, concerns are beginning to grow about just how safe and reliable an environment it is. For successful implementation of cloud services, it is necessary to establish the certification systems to ensure the safety and reliability of cloud services. This paper provides a safe and reliable framework for cloud service certification systems. In order to develop it, the critical issues related to service quality and certification of cloud services have been identified and the systematic framework for certification systems of cloud services and service provider domains have been developed. An evaluation method for the developed certification systems is also proposed.

  • This research demonstrated the efficiency, when compared to the textbook-based learning method, of developing web-based Courseware and utilizing it in the class so that students could study on their own the mobile parts of Technology-home economics. The contents are as follows: It is designed based on Namo Web Editor 5.1, in conjunction with Java script, PHP, Mysql, and so on. Procedures are as follows: First, students learn a small unit and then have a quiz. After logging in, they are tested on what they have learned. Finally, they send the result to the teacher by e-mail. To verify the results of this research, we make two groups. Each group has 34 students. One group are taught by using developed Courseware program, the other group are taught by present teaching program. The result shows the difference in achievement to the extent of significance P<0.05. In conclusion, it proved to be effective.

  • Field-Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) are a revolutionary new type of user-programmable integrated circuits that provide fast, inexpensive access to customized VLSI. However, as the target application speed increases, power-consumption and wire-delay on interconnection become more critical factors during programming an FPGA. Especially, the interconnection of the FPGA consumes 65% of the total FPGA power consumption. A previous research show that if the length of interconnection is shirked, power-consumption can be reduced because an interconnection has a lot of effect on power-consumption. For solving this problem that reducing the number of wires routed, the three dimension FPGA is proposed. However, this structure physical wires and an area of switches is increased by making topology complex. This paper propose a novel FPGA architecture that modifies the three dimension FPGA and compare the number of interconnection of Virtex II and 3D FPGA with the proposed FPGA architecture using the FPGA Editor of Xilinx ISE and a global routing and length estimation program.

  • In the Globalization of the business environment and the rapid technological development, the technology and intelligence are important advantages for the lack of funding SMEs, For management innovation and strengthen the competitiveness of enterprises, the information is the most efficient and powerful management tool. As a result, most of the medium-sized manufacturing firms introduction of the ERP system in order to promote the informatization. However, in reality, there are not much cases which show the tangible achievements by introduction of the ERP system. Therefore, this study searches on the Construction plan of Information Management System of the domestic small and medium manufacturing enterprises. Based on established construction method strategy Information management System apply to domestic small and medium sized manufacturing companies. In particular, information management system, that strategy was applied by considering the characteristics of SMEs and manufacturing enterprises.
