도서관이 제공하고 있는 이용자 교육이 변화된 도서관 환경을 반영한 정보 기술 및 정보 활용 능력의 제고와 평생교육을 지향하는 정보소양 능력의 습득을 위한 과정으로 확장되고 있다. 이와 관련하여 본 연구에서는 최근에 이루어지고 있는 대학도서관 이용자 교육이 이용자들의 정보 활용 능력에 어떤 영향을 미치는지를 측정하여 그 효과성과 관련성을 확인해봄으로써, 대학도서관에서의 이용자 교육이 나아갈 방향을 살펴보고자 한다.

This study investigated whether academic library user education contributes to promote users' information literacy. 39 students of Duksung Women's University participated voluntarily for this experiment. A test questions set about locating specific library materials was delivered to participating students, who were to find right answers for each test question. Their answers about test questions were measured in terms of success rate, time used to solve each problem. Self evaluation scores were also collected before and after giving them user education. Academic library user education significantly contributed participating students' ability to locate academic library materials through a library user interface. After receiving user education students were able to solve more successfully test questions, use less time for each question, and evaluate themselves more highly in terms of information utilizing ability. The effectiveness of the academic library user education was lasted for about 8 weeks after the education they received.

Recently. Web-based library instruction is incomplete in domestic situation. The purpose of this study is to present the design criteria of web-based library instruction programs. This study draws elements of synthetic criteria that are analyzed by evaluation criteria of web site and web-based library instruction, and compares and analyzes web-based library instruction programs.

현재 공공도서관에서는 홈페이지를 통한 이용자 교육 프로그램이 미비한 실정으로, 이 연구에서는 현재 도서관 홈페이지에서 제공하는 이용자 교육관련 항목들을 분석하여 향후 공공도서관 홈페이지를 이용한 이용자 교육 프로그램의 발전을 위한 제언을 제시하였다. 이를 위해 기존 문헌에서의 평가 기준과 전문가의 자문을 통하여 공공도서관 홈페이지의 이용자 교육관련 항목에 대한 분석기준을 확립하고, 이에 따라 공공도서관 홈페이지의 이용자 교육관련 항목들을 분석하였다. 이를 바탕으로 공공도서관 홈페이지 이용자 교육에서 필요한 사항들에 대해 제언하고자 한다.

본 연구에서는 인터넷을 활용하여 도서관의 이용자가 편리한 웹 환경에서 스스로 이용자교육을 실행할 수 있는 개별학습 시스템을 개발한 후, 이용자 만족도 조사를 통하여 그 효율성을 평가하였다. 이 시스템은 도서관 자료검색시스템의 이용절차 뿐 아니라 정보검색이나 자료조직에 대해 이용자가 더욱 폭 넓게 이해할 수 있도록 구성하였다.

본 연구의 의의는 웹을 기반으로 한 이용자교육 시스템을 구축하여 웹 기반 대학도서관 이용자교육의 효율성을 검증해 보고자 함에 있다. 효율성 검증을 위해서 이용자교육시스템을 구축한 뒤 웹 기반 이용자교육의 참여유무를 독립변인으로 하고 피실험자들의 전반적인 서비스에 대한 인식도 및 도서관 자료활용능력을 종속변인으로 하여 이들의 차이를 서로 비교, 평가해 보자 한다.

This study aims to develop the lesson plan of public library user education for children for the activation of user education. For the development of lesson plan, elementary school 3rd and 4th graders were selected as user education subjects through the literature survey, and orientation were derived as contents of user education. This study developed a lesson plan that applies Jonassen's constructivist learning environments to specifically design the librarian's role as teacher in user education with voluntary and subjective education participation of the children. Lesson plan was evaluated in terms of usefulness and appropriateness.

This study aims to investigate and analyze the current status of user education and the school library staffs' perceptions in elementary school libraries in Gyeongnam, and then to propose a plan to improve user education in school libraries. Among the 168 school libraries in the Gyeongsangnam-do where librarians are deployed, 120 that responded to the survey were selected as research subjects. The contents of the study include the contents and methods of user education, the status of librarian education for user education, school library staffs understanding and interest in user education, school library staffs' perceptions of the necessity and effectiveness of user education, and school library staffs' efforts to strengthen capacity of user education. Based on the current status of user education and the results of the school library staffs' perceptions survey, the following are proposed as a way to improve user education of the school library: 1) expanding librarian education opportunities for user education, 2) development and distribution of educational materials that diversify the content and level of each grade, 3) organizing normal school hours for user education, 4) continuous efforts to strengthen capacity for user education.

Library users must provide their personal information to libraries. This study surveyed these library users' perception of privacy and the effect of the education after providing library user privacy education. As a result, first, it was found that after education, users were more interested in their privacy, rated the problem of library user privacy as more severe, and rated library user data collection as more likely to be considered privacy invasion. Second, we investigated users' perception of how much user service records being collected in libraries violate users' privacy, which showed a great perception change in 25 questions after the education. Third, in the survey about library and librarians' efforts for protecting library user privacy, it was found that all 15 questions were rated as significantly more important after education. Fourth, library users have recognized that is necessary to process and handle the library record and are more sympathetic to the need for this procedure. Fifth, library users felt the possibility of a library record leak was a very serious threat.
