Effects of Introduction of Knowledge Management System in Relation to Organizational Performance - focused on management factors and information technology factors (지식관리시스템의 도입요인이 조직성과에 미치는 영향 -조직 및 정보기술특성 관점에서-)

  • This study looked into these companies and organizations that were working with the knowledge management system in order to verify how practically such introduction of the knowledge management system would affect the organizational performances. The purpose of this study is to present the strategic guidelines should to consider the introduction of the knowledge management system operated by the organization to analyze how factors affect the performance of the introduction of knowledge management systems are organized in empirical. According to the results, the sub-variables of the management factors such as learning organization, evaluation and reward system, organizational trust and knowledge-sharing activity had all the significant effects on the organizational performance, and of the sub-variables of the information technology factors, the information technology-based structure presented statistically significant results which confirmed that the structure itself also had an influence on the organizational performance. However, the study learned that both the information technology maturity and the system structural excellence had nothing to do with the organizational performance.

  • Because embedded system is combined system of hardware and software, we should design by considering elements such as real-time, reactive, small size, low weight, safe, reliable, harsh environment, low cost, and so on. However, those are poorly reflected on current embedded system development. Especially, there is few existed framework-based embedded system development. As a result, there are many internal codes which is not related with system operation in currently developed embedded system, and reusability or variability is not considered into embedded system development. Therefore we propose a formal specification technique using Z language to guarantee completeness or consistency of design of reusability framework proposed for improving reusability of embedded system. Also we assure correctness of framework design by checking Z model through Z-Eves Tool.

  • As Internet use is widespread advertising through the Web, shopping, banking, etc. As the various services offered by the network, the need for Web security is increasing. A security system for the protection of information assets and systems against various types of external hacking threats and unlawful intrusion will require. Intrusion Detection Tool of the paper web will have is to increase the security level, to prevent the loss of resources and labor spent by the individual monitoring of the web. Security intrusion detection system analyzes the cause of the problem of the security vulnerability and exposure of the information on the Web. Using a monitor to determine a fast support of security is to design a security system for the purpose of protecting the information security vulnerability and exposure information.

  • The purpose of this study is to study the standardization of the core business process in the chemical manufacturing industry and to establish a production information management system for the purpose of establishing the production information management system that can achieve mid -To be applied. The development methodology for the standardization of the chemical manufacturing information system is applied to the production information management system development methodology (PSDM) that was developed and developed by the Agency for Technology and Information Promotion of Small and Medium Enterprises. The standardization target is the system structure, It is a core business process that becomes a skeleton during construction. In this study, the chemical manufacturing SMEs and related professional IT companies who want to build the production information management system can apply the standardized core business process more effectively to build the system more effectively, and provide ease of installation and reliability to the system, In order to maximize the utilization of processes, follow-up education training and maintenance measures are suggested. Applying the results of this study, it is possible to eliminate the unreasonable elements of the production process, improve the quality of production product, and reduce production cost.

  • Proliferation of IT applications and developments lead to many useful yet diverse information systems being used in an organization. Users of information system have been satisfied with useful functions and prompt outputs, however they have become realized the problem of incompatibility of diverse systems and asked for more compatible systems in which more data and software can be shared among users. Information technology architecture (ITA) is suggested as one way of avoiding such problem by many researchers. This paper ananlyzes and introduces the ITA approach used primarily in US governments and in many other organizations. In Korea, many researchers view ITA as a technical concept that deal with interperability and standards. However, ITA is more managerial oriented concept than technical, because it allows us to achieve managerial objective, for example alignment of IT to strategic objectives, with ease and more confidence. This paper proposes the necessity of ITA in IT management and clarifies the relationships of managerial focus with technical focus of ITA.

The limitations of IS function to support decision-making, however, have been frequently mentioned. In this context, in addition to traditional mathematical model that is a kernel of DSS, the needs for Data Warehouse which is a system supporting business process analysis are emerging. In this study, for those needs, first, we introduce issues of implementation methodology for D/W, especially various models relating development process. Then, we investigate correlation between these models and key factors for success of D/W.

  • One of the major goals suggested in distributed system is to improve the performance of the system through the load balancing of whole system. Load balancing among systems improves the rate of processor utilization and reduces the turnaround time of system. In this paper, we design the rule of decision-making and information interchange based on knowledge based mechanism which makes optimal load balancing by sharing the future load state information inferred from past and present information of each nodes. The result of performance evaluation shows that utilization of processors is balanced, the processing time is improved and reliability and availability of systems are enhanced. The proposed mechanism in this paper can be utilized in the design of load balancing algorithm in distributed operating systems.

  • Since building up the Geographic Information System actively, we doubt whether we make good use of those system. These problems are caused by that legacy GIS is focused on the information construction and management of various facilities. So raising up the usability of GIS, we study on the GIS based on KMS that is active developed recently. First, we discuss about the concept of KMS and make the method to develop KMS with related to GIS. Then we make up the pilot system(g-KMS) according to the method for using on the filed of Construction. Consequently, we make sure that Spatial information is so important among various knowledges and find the why how to spatial knowledge build up.

Design and Development of e-Mentoring System for Information Education in Middle School (중학교 정보교과 교육을 위한 전자멘토링 시스템 설계 및 개발)

  • The purpose of this study is to design and develop the e-mentoring system which supports the effective information education and to evaluate the usability of the system. Through literature reviews of related studies, an effective e-mentoring performance model was drawn. An e-mentoring system was designed and developed based on the model. 237 middle school students who had participated in e-mentoring for the information education evaluated the usability of the system. As a result of it, the system was considered good in both category(supporting mentoring(M=3.63), technology(M=3.78). The means of subcategories of 'supporting mentoring'(instructional easiness, psychological safety, and adaptability) were scored 3.65, 3.30, 3.43 respectively. And means in the subcategories of 'technology'(usefulness, accuracy, and look & feel) were 3.90, 3.64, and 3.73. It can be concluded that the e-mentoring system developed in this study was effective in mentoring information education.
