Severe Tests and Mechanisms Generating an Evidence-Hypothesis (엄격한 시험과 증거-가설 생성의 메커니즘)

  • It seems certain that even if the same evidence is in itself given for any hypotheses, the way how it is obtained makes some differences in its support degree of them. In this respect, it is worth paying our attention to Mayo's conception of "severe test" and her technical development of it, which are just concerned with the procedures of getting evidence. Nonetheless, there have been criticisms against her theory from various respects. Among them, here this paper focuses on those especially raised by Jung (2018) and Iseda (1999). And it attempts to defend Mayo's theory on behalf of her against their critiques. For this purpose, the paper also proposes particularly a new concept of what is called the "mechanism generating an evidence-hypothesis". On the way, Mayo's own faults are revealed as well.

  • In this paper, the study presents the development of 34kW class cryogenic induction motor using LNG Pump. Operating temperature of an induction motor using LNG Main Cargo Pump is at −163℃. Due to variation of the resistivity, these motor have different torque characteristics. So, it should design to considering the resistivity change. The most important consideration of induction machine operating is cryogenic temperature. If the temperature rise, LNG is vaporized. it is a major cause of pump failure. There are several causes of heat source like coreloss, hysterisysloss, copperloss. This paper analyzed the thermal distribution of the induction motor at rated speed operation.

  • Phytochemical examination of the leaves of Alnus maximowiczii Call, one of the indigenous Alnus species grows in Korea, has led to the isolation of three flavonoids. Structure of these flavonoids were elucidated as quercetin-3-O-$\beta$-D-glucopyranoside (1) , quercetin-3-O-$\alpha$-L-rhamnopyranoside (2) and myricetin-3-O-$\alpha$-L-rhamnopyranoside (3) respectively by means of physico-chemical and spectral evidences.

  • Phytochemical examination of the leaves of Alnus hirsuta, one of the indigenous species grows in Korea, has led to the isolation of one flavan 3-ol and two flavonol glycosides. Structures of these compounds are identified as (-)-epicatechin (1), quercetin $3-O-{\beta}-D-galactopyranoside$ (2), quercetin $3-O-{\beta}-D-galactopyranoside$ (3) by means of physico-chemical and spectral evidences.

  • Because of environmental regulations in emissions control area, the demand for ships to use LNG as fuel is increasing. Orders for domestic shipbuilders to produce LNG carriers are steadily increasing. However, major appliances such as spray pump, main cargo pump and others have been relied on imports. Therefore, development of pump motor using at cryogenic temperature is necessary. Operating temperature of an induction motor is at $-163^{\circ}C$. At this low temperature, the resistivity of a motor coil is quite different from normal ones, and so does the torque characteristics of motor. This paper presents a designing method of a cryogenic induction motor for LNG pump. The variation of resistivity of motor coil is considered in the design process. The heat source such as core-loss, hysteresis-loss and copper-loss are analyzed to prevent the LNG evaporation which may cause the motor failure.

  • 본 논문에서는 2차 측에 Current-Doubler 정류방식을 적용한 LLC 직렬 공진 컨버터를 제시한다. 일반적으로 LLC 직렬 공진 컨버터에 경우 2차 측에는 유도 성 부하를 사용하지 않는다. 2차 측에 유도 성 부하가 존재하는 경우 방식이 바뀌게 되어, 이는 더 이상 LLC 직렬 공진 컨버터의 특성을 갖지 않기 때문이다. 제안하는 논문에서는 2차 측 출력 인덕터를 Common Mode Choke로 구성한 회로를 수학적인 해석을 통해 증명하고, 이를 바탕으로 Matlab / Simulink를 이용하여 타당성을 검증 한다.
