  • The purpose of this study is the development of professional measuring system of piston. Designed values are compared with values of measured data of oval shape piston and allowable range and deviation are printed out by using this system. Thereafter, it is able to measure ovality precisely and to estimate its quality rapidly.

  • 턱 논문에서는 복잡한 배경에서 다양한 조명과 얼굴의 크기 변화를 가지는 영상으로부터 눈을 검출하는 새로운 방법을 제안한다. 반사 대칭 조건과 타원 모델링을 이용하여 먼저 얼굴을 검출하고 그 영역 내에서 수리 형태학을 이용한 valley detection, binary opening을 수행함으로써 눈 후보 영역을 추출한다. 그리고 정확한 눈동자의 위치를 검출하기 위하여 눈동자 정합 마스크를 제안하였다 얼굴 검출 과정에서 타원의 단축 길이를 추정하여 추출된 얼굴 영상의 크기를 정규화 하였다. 정규화 된 얼굴 영상에서 눈 검출에 적합한 형태소(structuring element)를 결정하여 눈 검출 결과를 보다 견실하게 하였다.

  • In this paper, we propose a high performance elliptic curve cryptographic processor over $GF(2^{163})$. The proposed architecture is based on a modified Lopez-Dahab elliptic curve point multiplication algorithm and uses Gaussian normal basis for $GF(2^{163})$ field arithmetic. To achieve a high throughput rates, we design two new word-level arithmetic units over $GF(2^{163})$ and derive a parallelized elliptic curve point doubling and point addition algorithm with uniform addressing based on the Lopez-Dahab method. We implement our design using Xilinx XC4VLX80 FPGA device which uses 24,263 slices and has a maximum frequency of 143MHz. Our design is roughly 4.8 times faster with 2 times increased hardware complexity compared with the previous hardware implementation proposed by Shu. et. al. Therefore, the proposed elliptic curve cryptographic processor is well suited to elliptic curve cryptosystems requiring high throughput rates such as network processors and web servers.

  • Control system for cutting piston used in vehicle that is one of the 3D shape cutting using CNC lathe is presented. In order to cut the hybrid piston shape using CNC lathe, defined piston shape and change into machine code. The control software was developed for the high speed piston shape cutting. In this paper, the performance of this software was evaluated practically. As a result, the evaluated cutting precision was quantitatively compared with theoretical precision. Also the productivity and the quality by using CNC lathe with control software were evaluated those by using profiling.

  • Elliptic curve cryptosystem(ECC) offers the highest security per bit among the known publick key system. The benefit of smaller key size makes ECC particularly attractive for embedded applications since its implementation requires less memory and processing power. In this paper, we propose a new multiplier structure with configurable output sizes and operation cycles. The number of output bits can be freely chosen in the new architecture with the performance-area trade-off depending on the application. Using the architecture, a 193-bit normal basis multiplier and inversion unit are designed in GF(2$^{m}$ ). It is implemented using HDL and 0.35${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ CMOS technology and the operation is verified by simulation.

  • This paper presents a high-performance elliptic curve cryptographic processor over $GF(2^m)$. The proposed design adopts Lopez-Dahab Montgomery algorithm for elliptic curve point multiplication and uses Gaussian normal basis for $GF(2^m)$ field arithmetic operations. We select m=163 which is the smallest value among five recommended $GF(2^m)$ field sizes by NIST and it is Gaussian normal basis of type 4. The proposed elliptic curve cryptographic processor consists of host interface, data memory, instruction memory, and control. We implement the proposed design using Xilinx XCV2000E FPGA device. Based on the FPGA implementation results, we can see that our design is 2.6 times faster and requires significantly less hardware resources compared with the previously proposed best hardware implementation.

  • In this paper we propose a method to detect human faces from color image using pupil-template matching. Face detection is done by three stages. (i)separating skin regions from non-skin regions; (ii)generating a face regions by application of the best-fit ellipse; (iii)detecting face by pupil-template. Detecting skin regions is based on a skin color model. we generate a gray scale image from original image by the skin model. The gray scale image is segmented to separated skin regions from non-skin regions. Face region is generated by application of the best-fit ellipse is computed on the base of moments. Generated face regions are matched by pupil-template. And we detection face.

  • This note presents the calculation of nominal area for rock core specimen under direct shear testing condition. The initial nominal area was assumed as ellipsoid, and the equations for calculating the nominal area are derived. The normalized shear displacement and normalized nominal area have an identical relationship regardless of the ellipsoid shape. New testing constants and the generalized method were suggested to calculate the decrease of the nominal area. The method was applied to calculate the direct shear testing data and the changes of result were discussed.

  • In image processing we encounter some tasks to detect ellipse or to discriminate the curves. LSM is well used to fit curves to ellipse but it can fail to fit correctly when fitting to defected one. To overcome this problem, we propose Modified LSM. Only 2-parameters among 5-paramaters are to be determined by LSM, while 3-parameters are to be calculated by the constrain that the curve must pass 3 given points. Those 3 points are selected by operator so as to have elliptic feature. Such proposed MLSM shows better result than genunal LSM in case when the ellipse is severely defected. and is proved to be good method for determing the human dentition.
