Experimental / Computational Study of a variable Critical Nozzle Flow (가변형 임계노즐 유동에 관한 실험/수치해석적 연구)

  • For the measurement of mass flow rate at a wide range of operation conditions, it is required that the critical nozzle gas different diameters, since the mass flow rate through the critical nozzle depends on the nozzle supply conditions and the nozzle throat diameter. In the present study, both computational and experimental investigations are performed to explore the variable critical nozzle. Computational work using the 2-dimensional, axisymmetric, compressible Navier-Stokes equations are carried out to simulate the gas flow through variable critical nozzle. In experimnet, a cylinder with several different diameters is inserted into the critical nozzle to vary the nozzle throat diameter. Computational results are compared with the experimented ones. The computed results are in close agreement with experiment. It is found that the displacement and momentum thickness of variable critical nozzle are given as a function of Reynolds numbers. The discharge coefficient of the variable critical nozzle is predicted using an empirical equation.

Effect of Grafting Cultivation on the Growth of Hot Pepper (고추 접목재배가 생육에 미치는 영향)

  • Charactertistics of growth from graft induced three stock of red pepper cultivar were analysed. R-safe rootstock was more higher and vigorous than that of the Yeok kang, Konesian hot cultivar at seedling stage and had good characteristics for grafting in the space of cut surface and the amount of sap released. Numbers of branches were more numerous in the grafted plants than those of non-grafted as grafting affected their growths in the process of branching. There was no distinct difference in plant height among the different rootstock. However the R-safe rootstock showed considerably high growth in the 41st days after grafting. Grafting was effective in the early flowering and the R-safe was the earliest in flowering because of it's good growth under the low temperature.

  • Vibrations and wave propagations in waveguide structures can be analysed efficiently by using waveguide finite element (WFE) method. The WFE method only models the 2-dimensional cross-section of the waveguide with finite elements so that the size of the model and computing time are much less than those of the 3-dimensional FE models. For cylindrical shells or pipes which have simple cross-sections, the external coupling with fluids can be treated theoretically. For waveguides of complex cross-sectional geometries, however, numerical methods are required to deal with external fluids. In this numerical approach, the external fluid is modelled by the boundary elements (BEs) and connected to WFEs. In order to validate this WFE/BE method, a pipe submerged in water is considered in this study. The dispersion diagrams and point mobilities of the pipe simulated are compared to those that theoretically obtained. Also the acoustic powers radiated from the pipe are predicted and compared in both cases of air and water as an external medium.

  • Laminar natural convection heat transfer from an isothermal rectangular beam attached to horizontal and vertical adiabatic plates has been studied for various aspect ratios of the beam and Grashof numbers. The local Nusselt number was increased with decreasing H/B for the constant beam width, B, and with increasing H/B for the constant beam height, H. The total mean Nusselt number of the vertical type was higher than that of horizontal type in the range of H/B.leq.0.52, but reversed in the H/B>0.52 at constant beam width. The total mean Nusselt number of the horizontal type was generally higher than that of vertical type at constant beam height. The total mean Nusselt number of the vertical type was higher than that of horizontal type in the range of H/B.leq.0.43 at constant wetted perimeter, but reversed in the H/B$\leq$0.43.

  • 소 해면형 뇌증(Bovine Spongiform Encephalpathy; BSE)이 처음 확인된 것은 1986년 11월이며, 영국에서의 최초발생을 시작으로 하여, 지난 10여년 동안 발생국가의 수는 다소 증가하고 있지만 전체적인 발생두수는 1993년을 정점으로하여 감소하는 추세를 보이고 있다. 아직까지도 확실한 병인체는 밝혀져 있지 않은 상태이며, 최초 확인당시 인체에의 감염 가능성은 없는 것으로 발표된 바 있으나, 지난 1996년 3월 20일, 영국정부 보건장관이 영구하원에서, 소 해면형 뇌증이 사람의 희귀한 뇌 질환인 크로이츠휄트-야곱병(CJD)의 새로운 스트레인(v-CJD)과 관련성이 있을 수 있다고 보고한 다음날, CNN 등 세계 각 매스컴을 통하여, '광우병 사람에게 전파될지도$\cdots$'(Mad cow illness may threaten humans)라는 제목으로 Top News로 보도되었으며, 수의학이나 의학적인 사실 확인의 여부를 떠나, 사회 경제적인 문제로 큰 놀라움과 많은 의문사항을 남겨둔 채, 국제적인 문제로 확대된 바있다. 본 편에서는, 소 해면형 뇌증 (BSE)과 관련, 영국의 광우병 파동이 일어난 지난 3월부터 지금까지 국내외 매스컴에 보도된 내용중 주요사항들을 스크랩하여 참고자료로 제공하고자 한다. 자료중에는 중복기사나 추측기사, 검증되지 아니한 오보, 지극히 개인적인 견해 등도 있을 수 있으며, 외신보도의 접수시간, 국내보도의 조간-석간, 지면구성, 수도권판과 지방판 등, 그리고 특히 병명이나 고유명사, 외래어 등의 전문용어 표기에 있어서 꼭 일치하지 아니하는 경우가 있을 수 있음을 참고로 하여야할 것이다.

  • Academic libraries presently are confronting the issues of organizational viability and relevance. Academic libraries are not the sole owners of the information gateway. The purpose of this study is modeling of university library's information service for effective implication of its role in order to ensure organizational viability and relevance in internet environment. New information service model of university library needs to be design according to four Principles. Firstly, building of web based library petals. Secondly, provision of web front-end with hybrid functions. Thirdly, provision of information literacy program Fourthly, extension resource sharing.

A Potential-Based Panel Method for the Analysis of a 2-Dimensional Partially Cavitating Hydrofoil (양력판 이론에 의한 2차원 수중익의 부분 캐비티 문제 해석)

  • A potential-based panel method is formulated for the analysis of a partially cavitating 2-dimensional hydrofoil. The method employs dipoles and sources distributed on the foil surface to represent the lifting and cavity problems, respectively. The kinematic boundry condition on the wetted portion of the foil surface is satisfied by requiring that the total potential vanish in the inner flow region of the foil. The dynamic boundary condition on the cavity surface is satisfied by requiring that the potential vary linearly, i.e., the velocity be constant. Green's theorem then results in a potential-based boundary value problem rather than a usual velocity-based formulation. With the singularities distributed on the exact hydrofoil surface, the pressure distributions are predicted with more improved accuracy than the zero-thickness hydrofoil theory, especially near the leading edge. The theory then predicts the cavity shape and cavitation number for an assumed cavity length. To improve the accuracy, the sources and dipoles on the cavity surface are moved to the newly computed cavity surface, where the boundary conditions are satisfied again. It was found that five iterations are necessary to obtain converged values, while only two iterations are sufficient for engineering purpose.

Plant quarantine isolated cultivation system in Korea and results of recorded in 2005-2012 (우리나라 식물검역 격리재배 시스템과 2005-2012년 실적보고)

  • In Korea, isolated cultivation has been implemented for 102 genera, including about 250 species, each of which has underwent microscopic inspection, cultivation of bacteria in selective medium, analysis of physiology and biochemistry, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and polymerase chain reaction (PCR). The number of isolated microorganisms was 8,307 in the period of 2005-2012, and bulbs and tubers had the greatest diversity of microorganisms, of 5,165 (62.2%), followed by 2,119 (25.0%) sapling, 796 (9.6%) seed, 150 (1.8%) cutting slip, 70 (0.8%) branch graft and 7 (0.1%). The number of cases which were disqualified were 413 (4.97%), after the detection of 47 disease causing species of microorganism. Viruses predominated, with 27 species, followed by 16 fungi, a viroid, a Chromalveolata and 2 further species. Top on the list of detection was Arabis mosaic virus (77 cases), followed by Tobacco rattle virus (70 cases), Lily symptomless virus (46 cases) and Penicillium expansum (46 cases).

  • 최근 수출오이의 재배 면적이 계속증가 추세에 있어 '99년 현재 143ha에 달하고 있다. 그러나 수출오이는 국내 오이와 재배방법이 상당히 달라 국내 오이는 주지착과형이지만 수출오이는 측지착과형으로 측지의 발생여부에 따라 수확량의 차이가 심하다. 따라서 수출오이의 성공여부는 측지발생을 어느정도 시키느냐에 달려 있다고 해도 과언이 아니다. 그런데 수출오이의 재배시기는 우리나라에서 재배환경이 가장 불량한 겨울철(10-2월)로, 저온 및 투광량 부족 등으로 인하여 측지발생율이 매우 저조하다. 따라서 본 시험은 수출오이의 측지 발생율을 높이고자 지중가온기 설치 여부에 따른 효과를 구명하고자 실시하였다. 그 결과, 생육(Table 1)은 접수의 줄기 직경이 지중가온 처리시 10.22mm로, 무가온의 8.64mm보다 굵었고, 엽장과 엽폭에 있어서도 지중가온 처리가 무가온 처리보다 좋았다. 곡과 발생수에 있어서도 지중가온 처리는 주당 0.73개가 발생하였으나, 무가온은 1.26개가 발생되어 지중가온 처리시 무가온에 비해서 생육이 좋아지고, 곡과 발생이 적었다. 주당 측지발생수(Table 2)는 지중가온구가 13.7개였고, 무가온구는 11.7개로 지중가온을 하면 측지발생수가 증가함을 알수 있었다. 또한 상품수확과수에 있어서도 지중가온구는 주당 45개인데 반해 지중무가온구는 38개였으며 따라서 전체적인 수량이 10a당 8,100kg으로, 무가온구의 6,840kg보다 18%의 증수효과가 있었다. 따라서 수출오이재배시 지중가온을 하면, 측지발생수가 증가하고 특히 장측지(Fig. 1)가 다수 발생하여 측지 수확과수가 증가하며, 곡과 등 기형과 발생이 감소하여 상품수량이 증가되므로써 기존 지중 무가온 재배에 비해 14% 소득향상 효과를 기대할 수 있다.시 생장이 둔화되었다. 밀폐시킨 삼각플라스크에서 자라는 Cell은 상태도 좋지 않고 전반적인 증식량도 적었다. Cell은 환기정도에 민감한 것으로 판단되며 삼각플라스크에서 약 35일 정도의 생장 주기를 가지는 것으로 사료된다. 배양 3주까지는 플라스틱 뚜껑으로 밀폐시킨 bottle에서 가장 많은 체세포배를 얻었다. Air filter를 달아 2일 마다 신선한 공기를 넣어 주었을 때는 배의 발달이 많이 늦어져 배양 3주째에 다른 처리보다 배의 수가 훨씬 적었다. 체세포배가 발달하는 동안에는 산소를 많이 요구하지 않으나 성숙하는 동안에는 산소를 많이 요구하는 것으로 생각된다.적인 것으로 나타났다. 다만, 곡선형은 물론 직선형에서도 열교환 튜브의 배치밀도, 튜브 길이 및 두께 등의 변화에 따른 최적화 연구가 수반되어야 할 것으로 판단된다.에서 제공된 API는 객체기반 제작/편집 도구에 응용되어 다양한 멀티미디어 컨텐츠 제작에 사용되었다.x factorization (NMF), generative topographic mapping (GTM)의 구조와 학습 및 추론알고리즘을소개하고 이를 DNA칩 데이터 분석 평가 대회인 CAMDA-2000과 CAMDA-2001에서 사용된cancer diagnosis 문제와 gene-drug dependency analysis 문제에 적용한 결과를 살펴본다.0$\mu$M이 적당하며, 초기배발달을 유기할 때의 효과적인 cysteamine의 농도는 25~50$\mu$M인 것으로 판단된다.N)A(N)/N을 제시하였다(A(N)=N에 대한 A값). 위의 실험식을 사용하여 헝가리산 Zempleni 시료(15%$S_{XRD}$)의 기본입자분포로부터 %$S_{XRD}

The Effect of Renewal Topworking on Early Y Shape Tree Formation and Yields in Peach Trees (고접갱신이 복숭아 Y자 수형 조기 구성 및 생산성에 미치는 영향)

  • The effects of the early tree shapes with renewal by top-working on Y-shaped peach tree, and the influence on the maintaining fruit quantity with gradual renewal of interstock cultivar were determined. In the comparison of the places of top-working tree, top working tree on the inside of the main branch of interstock cultivar had higher graft union rate and branch growth than those of top working tree on the outside. Tree width, basal diameter of shoot, and number of bearing shoots were smaller in top working tree than in replanted tree. Although labor time was not different to control top working tree and replanted tree, labor time was much required to manage top working tree with interstock cultivar. Accumulated fruit production was 2,384 kg/10a in top working tree and 2,025 kg/10a in replanted tree for three years. However, top working tree had no loss of fruits because interstock cultivar of top-working tree had 3,727 kg/10a of fruits. No variation on fruit quality was observed between top working tree and replanting tree. In terms of economic value of top-working tree, labor to manage interstock cultivar, fertilizer price, fruit bagging, and grading and packing price increased. However, fruit production increased, and price of seedling, rental equipment, pulling-out trees, and repairing supporting system decreased. Therefore, gradual renewal of topworking tree has effects on the maintaining fruit quantity, supplementation on fruit loss, and renewal cultivar.
