  • In this paper, we introduce a method of parameter estimation of progressive Type I interval censored sample and progressive type II censored sample. We propose a new parameter estimation method, that is converting the data which obtained by progressive type I interval censored, those data be used to estimate of the parameter in progressive type II censored sample. We used exponential distribution with unknown scale parameter, the maximum likelihood estimator of the parameter calculates from the two methods. A simulation is conducted to compare two kinds of methods, it is found that the proposed method obtains a better estimate than progressive Type I interval censoring method in terms of mean square error.

  • The minimum cut problem is to minimize c(S,T), that is, to determine source S and sink T such that the capacity of the S-T cut is minimal. The flow-based algorithm is mostly used to find the bottleneck arcs by calculating flow network, and does not presents the minimum cut. This paper suggests an algorithm that simply includes the maximum capacity vertex to adjacent set S or T and finds the minimum cut without obtaining flow network in advance. On applying the suggested algorithm to 13 limited graphs, it can be finds the minimum cut value $_{\min}c$(S, T) with simply and correctly.

  • We consider the problem of nonparametrically estimating the conditional quantile function from censored data and propose new estimators here. They are based on local logistic regression technique of Lee et al. (2006) and "double-kernel" technique of Yu and Jones (1998) respectively, which are modified versions under random censoring. We compare those with two existing estimators based on a local linear fits using the check function approach. The comparison is done by a simulation study.

  • A goodness-of-fit test for the two-parameter exponential distribution, for use with the singly Type I and Type II right censored samples, is proposed. The test statistic is based on the $L_1$-norm of discrepancy between the cumulative distribution function and the empirical distribution function. To deal with the unknown parameters problem, the K- transformation is considered and modified to be applied to the censored samples. Rosenblatt's transformation is extended to the cases of Type I and Type II censored samples, in order to transform the censored samples into the complete ones. The critial values of the test statistic are obtained by Monte Carlo simulations for some finite sample sizes. The power studies are conducted to compare the proposed test with the Pettitt(1977) test for exponentiality with censored samples. It appears that the proposed test has relatively good power properties for moderate and large sample sizes.

  • We performed impact test to estimate necessary explosive charge weight for cutting the cable whose diameter is 22 mm. The impact test results were analyzed by Probit method. The cutting energy was calculated 37.7 J with 99.99% probability at 99% reliability compared to the average energy of 24.9 J. The cable was cut 3 times without failure with 150 mg of Zirconium Potassium Perchlorate (ZPP), which was considered to generate 24.5 J of mechanical energy with assumption that only 10% of explosive energy converts to mechanical energy. The calculated energy from measured pressure with 150 mg ZPP was 26.1 J, which is almost same with both impact test result and expected mechanical energy. We can argue that the cable can be cut with 99.99% probability at 99% reliability by 230 mg of ZPP.

  • Ammunition is an integral element of a weapon systems and in calculating fighting strength. The Korea Army utilizes the basic load (B/L) concept to supply ammunition smoothly. The required supply rate (RSR) is the basis of a B/L that is estimated from real combat data that includes a troop's mission and operation terrain. The current RSR is based on Korean War data and the sample mean has some problems in applications to modern combat. Therefore, this study used Korea Combat Training Center (KCTC) data that is similar to real combat to estimate rifle ammunition RSR. We used a quantile of truncated Weibull distribution to estimate rifle ammunition RSR considering that rifle ammunition consumption data in KCTC is truncated. As a result, we obtained a rifle ammunition RSR which covers most ammunition consumption by reflecting the individual consumption of rifle ammunition.

  • This study, investigates the effects of dispersion parameters between two response variables in zero-truncated bivariate generalized Poisson distributions. A Monte Carlo study shows that the zero-truncated bivariate Poisson and negative binomial models fit poorly wherein the zero-truncated bivariate count data has heterogeneous dispersion parameters on dependent variables. In addition, we derive the score test for testing the equality of the dispersion parameters and compare its efficiency with the likelihood ratio test.

  • This paper suggests a modeling technique for shape and volume prediction of fishes to cut them with identical weights for group meals. The measurement and prediction of frozen fishes for group meals are very difficult because they have a bending deformation occurring at frozen stage and a hollow by eliminating the internals. Besides there exist twinkles problem of surface caused by freeze and variable weights by moisture conditions. Therefore a complex estimation algorithm is necessary to predict the shape and volume prediction of fishes exactly. Hollow prediction, pattern classification and modeling for tails using neural network, integration based volume prediction algorithm are suggested and combined to solve those problems. In order to validate the proposed method, the experiments of 3-dimensional measurement, volume prediction and fish cutting for spanish mackerel, saury, and mackerel are executed. The cutting experiments for real fish are executed.
