  • This study aims to serve as a critical comparison of the currently controversial 'new cold war' discourse. It took three triggers for the 'new cold war' discourse to emerge as a major issue in the media and academia and to have real political impact. With the launch of China's 'Belt and Road' project and Russia's annexation of Crimea leading to the 'Ukraine crisis,' the 'new cold war' discourse has begun to take shape. Trump's U.S.-China trade spat has brought the 'new cold war' debate to the forefront. The 'new cold war' debate is currently being intensified by the Biden administration's framing of "democracy versus authoritarianism" and Putin's invasion of Ukraine. Currently, there is no consensus among scholars on whether the controversial 'new cold war' is a new version, or a continuation of the historically defined concept of the Cold War. The term 'New Cold War' is less of an analytical concept and more of a topical term that has yet to achieve analytical status, let alone a theoretical validation and systematization, and the related debate remains at the level of assertion or discourse. Through this comparative analysis, I will argue that the ongoing discourse of the 'New Cold War' does not have the instrumental explanatory power to analyze the transitional phenomena of the world order today.

  • The importance of hydrogen fuel cells continues to be emphasized, and there is a growing demand for education and training in this field. Among various educational environments, metaverse education is opening a new era of change in the global education industry, especially to adapt to remote learning. The most significant change that the metaverse has brought to education is the shift from one-way, instructor-centered, and static teaching approaches to multi-directional and dynamic ones. It is expected that the metaverse can be effectively utilized in hydrogen fuel cell engineer education, not only enhancing the effectiveness of education by enabling learning and training anytime, anywhere but also reducing costs associated with engineering education. In this research, inspired by these ideas, we are designing a fuel cell education platform. We have created a platform that combines theoretical and practical training using the metaverse. Key aspects of this research include the development of educational training content to increase learner engagement, the configuration of user interfaces for improved usability, the creation of environments for interacting with objects in the virtual world, and support for convergence services in the form of digital twins.

  • With the advent of the various device types and marketing communication, customer's search and purchase behavior have become more complex and segmented. However, extant research on multichannel marketing effects of the purchase funnel has not reflected the specific features of device User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX). In this study, we analyzed the marketing channel effects of multi-device shoppers using a unique click stream dataset from global online retailers. We examined device types that activate online shopping and compared the differences between marketing channels that promote visits. In addition, we estimated the direct and indirect effects on visits and purchase revenue through customer's accumulated experience and channel conversions. The findings indicate that the same customer selects a different marketing channel according to the device selection. These results can help retailers gain a better understanding of customers' decision-making process in multi-marketing channel environment and devise the optimal strategy taking into account various device types. Our empirical analyses yield business implications based on the significant results from global big data analytics and contribute academically meaningful theoretical framework using an economic model. We also provide strategic insights attributed to the practical value of an online marketing manager.

  • The rapid increase in smartphone ownership underscores the importance of service delivery in the mobile environment. Accordingly, the public sector is allocating budget and effort towards providing services through mobile applications. While some have recorded high download numbers, contributing to the proliferation of public services, issues such as low user engagement and budgetary concerns have simultaneously been raised. This study aims to analyze factors influencing the intention to use public apps with the theoretical foundation of the Technology Readiness Acceptance Model (TRAM) to enhance users' acceptance of public apps. Previous research has primarily focused on system characteristics, but this study constructs the model with a significant consideration for user characteristics. Additionally, through a comprehensive examination of publicness, which has been lacking in existing research, the study integrates this aspect into the model. Ultimately, this research provides insights into the factors influencing users' intention to use public apps and suggests approaches to enhance usage intention for the successful implementation of a Digital Platform Government.

  • Metaverse, which supports social and economic activities in the virtual world, is being cited as the core of future Web 3.0 businesses. However, most of the major metaverse platforms currently adhere to the Web 2.0 system and are operated in a centralized manner. Accordingly, this study investigated the form of metaverse operation by examining the case of Decentraland, a metaverse platform operated as DAO, a decentralized autonomous organization in the form of Web 3.0. From the case analysis, we found that Decentraland had positive characteristics such as a horizontal operating structure, fair profit distribution, and transparency, but there were challenges including the possibility of returning to centralization in the operating process, the possibility of abuse of an autonomous system, and inefficiency in decision-making. Therefore, in this study, the timing of transition to DAO governance was discussed, and DAO's efforts for business continuity and the need for adjustment for autonomous operation were suggested as implications. The implications presented in this study are expected to contribute to materializing not only practical but also theoretical aspects of platform operation aimed at web 3.0 as well as the metaverse.

  • In recent years, turnover intention among employees in China's banking industry has surged due to internal and external environmental pressures. This surge surpasses those occurring in other sectors. This rising trend in employee turnover has resulted in reducing employee turnover becoming a critical priority for banks in their ongoing development. Traditional leadership styles have proven inadequate for addressing this issue, requiring a shift towards more effective management approaches. This study explores the potential of servant leadership, a management style that prioritizes employees' needs, supports their development, and motivates them to realize their potential, as a means to mitigate rising turnover intentions. The research focuses on employees in the Chinese banking sector so as to examine the impact of the servant leadership management approach on their turnover intentions. Job crafting is investigated as a mediating variable, while stress mindset is assessed as a moderating variable. Data were collected from 401 valid questionnaires across 62 teams, comprising 62 leaders and 339 employees. Hypotheses were tested using SPSS 26.0 and HLM 6.0. The findings reveal that: (1) servant leadership significantly reduces turnover intentions; (2) job crafting mediates the relationship between servant leadership and turnover intentions; and (3) stress mindset positively moderates the influence of job crafting on turnover intentions. This study provides empirical evidence supporting the relationship between servant leadership and turnover intentions. The study's findings offer valuable insights into how to enhance employee management practices. It also discusses the theoretical and practical implications of integrating servant leadership into the banking sector, highlights the study's limitations, and proposes directions for future research.

  • Housing environment for human beings has been diversified and more convenient due to the development of high technology and civilization brought by industrialization in the 20th century. In the 21st century, how to overcome the ecological limit of biased development-centered advancement, that is, how to preserve and hand over a clean and healthy 'sustainable environment' to our next generations has been one of the most-talked about issues. Environmental symbiosis means a wider range of environmental harmony from micro-dimensional perspective to macro one. The three goals of a environmentally friendly house are to preserve global environment, to harmonize with the environment around, and to offer a healthy and comfortable living environment. From the point of view of environmental symbiosis, houses should be designed to save energy and natural resources for preservation of global environment, to collect such natural energy resources as solar heat and wind force, to recycle waste water, and recycle and reduce the amount of the waste matter. Now, the environmentally-friendly house became a new social mission that is difficult to not only challenge but also realize without conversion to a new paradigm, ecologism.

  • Modern society has been exposed to various dangers and crimes in the process of globalization, informationization, decentralization etc. along with the development of material civilization under rapid changing societal environment. These factors are exerting a lot of effects in public security environments, as result there are gradual interest about crime and crime prevention. Realization of responsibility who take charge of social safety, from public security to private security, appears important topic at the moment. The positive point of view which private security industry is responsible to cope with security spheres instead of public security has been emerged from the reason that the public security has limitation to solve security problems for themselves. It is the time to make effort to compromise the public security and the private security industry to forecast social change and prevent dangers in the advance. In Korea, there has been close cooperation between public security and private security for decades. Strongly emerging and interesting sphere is "Private Investigation(Private Detective)" in Korea at present. There has been some proposed legislations of private investigation for decreasing burden of public security and social sympathy about possibility of private investigation system is increasing now. In this study, we focused on the introduction of private investigation system through the analysis of bill proposals for last 14 years, for instance historical aspects, contents, the differences among bill proposals. Among these, a comparison on bill proposals of the 19th National Assembly's during 2012 - 2013 were analysed mainly. We examined the importance point at issue items for introduction of private investigation system. Suggestions for introduction of private investigation system is as follows. The necessity of independent bill for developmental private investigation system is needed and the main body should be a juristic person instead of a individual for the public interest and responsibility. For the good service of private investigation and to prevent the unqualified person become a private investigator, the recruiting system and examination of private investigator should be prepared well and take into consideration anticipated problems. Also the necessity of definite jurisdiction department's appointment to divide responsibility in operation.
