A Content-based Music Similarity Retrieval System (내용 기반 음악 유사 구간 검색 시스템)

  • 본 연구에서는 음악 데이터 베이스에서 노래의 특정 구간과 가장 유사한 구간을 검색하는 시스템을 제안한다. 제안된 시스템에서는 음악을 다차원 시계열 데이터로 간주하고, 음악의 조성 차이 및 템포(tempo) 차이를 고려한 음악의 유사도 계산 방법을 사용한다. 유사도 계산의 전처리 단계에서 조성 차이를 보정하고, 비트(beat)를 검출하며, 추출된 크로마그램(chromagram)을 검출된 비트와 동기화 하여 평균한다. 이후, 동적 시간 왜곡(DTW; dynamic time warping)을 사용하여 두 구간사이의 유사도를 계산한 후 계산된 유사도 순서로 정렬된 검색 결과를 출력한다. 사용자는 제안된 시스템을 사용하여 선택 구간 유사도 검색과 자동 유사 검색 결과로 도출된 구간 쌍을 검토하여 유사 구간을 보다 쉽게 찾을 수 있다.

  • This paper include to study DoA(Direction of Arrival) for radio collection and monitoring system. The direction finding calculated by applying the CVDF (Correlation Vector Direction Finding) algorithm for the five circular dipole antenna over V / UHF band. To improve the accuracy of direction finding by applying CVDF algorithm needs to obtain ideal phase difference each antennas. However, a circular array antenna phase difference pattern may be distorted on a specific frequency band or to particular direction. The effect of installing each array antennas circularly and the effect of the interference of center pole (located in the center of a circular array antenna mount) may make the distortion of phase pattern. If you use an active antenna instead of passive antenna to obtain good sensitivity, you would measure the more distortion. This paper propose how to change combination of antennas to measure the phase in real-time and how to use antenna beam patterns for minimizing the degradation phenomena at applying simple CVDF algorithm and increasing the direction finding capability.

Design Method for an MLP Neural Network Which Minimizes the Effect by the Quantization of the Weights and the Neuron Outputs (가중치 뉴런 출력의 양자화 영향을 최소화하는 다층퍼셉트론 신경망 설계 방법)

  • 이미 학습된 다층퍼셉트론 신경망을 디지털 VLSI 기술을 사용하여 하드웨어로 구현할 경우 신경망의 가중치 및 뉴런 출력들을 양자화해야 하는 문제가 발생한다. 이러한 신경망 변수들의 양자화는 결과적으로 주어진 입력에 대한 신경망의 최종 출력에서의 왜곡을 초래한다. 본 논문에서는 먼저 이러한 양자화로 인한 신경망 출력에서의 왜곡을 통계적으로 분석하였다. 분석 결과에 의하면 입력패턴 각 성분의 제곱들의 합과 가중치의 크기들이 양자화 영향에 주로 기여하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 분석 결과를 이용하여 양자화를 위한 정밀도가 주어졌을 때, 양자화 영향이 최소화된 다층퍼셉트론 신경망을 설계하는 방법을 제시하였다. 그리고 제안된 방법에 의해 얻은 신경망과 오류역전파 학습방법에 의하여 얻은 신경망의 성능을 비교함으로써 제안된 방법의 효율성을 입증하였다. 실험결과는 낮은 양자화 정밀도에서도 제안된 방법이 더 좋은 성능을 보였다.Abstract When we implement a multilayer perceptron with the digital VLSI technology, we generally have to quantize the weights and the neuron outputs. These quantizations eventually cause distortion in the output of the network for a given input. In this paper first we made a statistical analysis about the effect caused by the quantization on the output of the network. The analysis revealed that the sum of the squared input components and the sizes of the weights are the major factors which contribute to the quantization effect. We present a design method for an MLP which minimizes the quantization effect when the precision of the quantization is given. In order to show the effectiveness of the proposed method, we developed a network by our method and compared it with the one developed by the regular backpropagation. We could confirm that the network developed by our method performs better even with a low precision of the quantization.

  • In this paper, an effect on a GPS receiver by spoofing signal is analyzed and a GPS spoofing signal detection algorithm for GPS L1 C/A spoofing signal is proposed. A proposed detection algorithm monitors the correlation function distortion by the spoofing signal. If detected distortion is over a detection threshold, we can determine that the spoofing signal is received. The detection threshold is calculated from the statistical characteristics of a thermal noise. For verifying the suggested algorithm, a MATLAB-based simulation platform is implemented. This platform has functionalities to track GPS signal and measure the correlation values. By using this platform, the correlation function distortion by spoofing signal is observed. Also a performance of the algorithm proposed in this paper is applied and confirm the detection of a spoofing signal.

  • Ultrasonic pulse echo method comes to be difficult to apply to the multi-layered structure with very thin layer, because the echoes from the top and the bottom of the layer are superimposed. We can easily meet this problem when the silicon chip layer in the semiconductor is inspected by a SAM equipment using fairly low frequency lower than 20MHz by which severe attenuation in the epoxy mold compound of packaging material can be overcome. Conventionally, deconvolution technique has been used for the decomposition of superimposed UT signals, however it has disabilities when the waveform of the transmitted signal is distorted according to the propagation. In this paper, the wavelet transform based deconvolution(WTBD) technique is proposed as a new signal processing method that can decompose the superimposed echo signals with superior performances compared to the conventional deconvolution technique. WTBD method uses the wavelet transform in the pre-stage of deconvolution to extract out the common waveform from the transmitted and received signal with distortion. Performances of the proposed method we shown by through computer simulations using model signal with noise and we demonstrated by through experiments for the fabricated semiconductor sample with partial delamination at the top of silicon chip layer.

  • In this paper, we analyzed the effect of modulation scheme and modulation scheme on the dimming level of visible light communication system and studied the effect of distortion due to delayed signal. Currently, the modulation schemes most commonly used in visible light communication result in increasing the communication performance but reducing the brightness of the entire illumination. Continuous Burst Zero Duration will severely degrade lighting. This degrades not only the illumination but also the performance of the whole system and causes Flicker phenomenon. In this paper, we analyze the relationship between modulation technique and illumination - communication performance and investigate the effect of signal delay on visible light communication system. Through simulation, we analyze the performance of IPI-OOK which has the best communication-lighting performance and propose future research directions accordingly.

  • In this paper, we introduce the concept of the cube satellite Chungnam National University Laser Unity Bus (CLUB), which can provide an integrated infrastructure for various ground-space laser applications. With the advent of the new space era, the rapid expansion of space utilization has begun to reveal the limitations of conventional radio frequencies. As space missions diversify, lasers are garnering attention as a viable alternative. Between ground and space, lasers are applied in various fields including satellite laser ranging (SLR), laser weapons, and laser communication. However, laser used between the ground and space are significantly influenced by the Earth's atmosphere. Consequently, understanding the atmospheric effects on laser propagation is crucial. In particular, atmospheric turbulence, which refracts and distorts laser beams, intensifies closer to the Earth's surface, exerting a greater impact on the uplink than on the downlink. While downlink verification is facilitated by ground detection, verifying the uplink poses challenges due to the necessity of space-based detection. In response to these challenges, we propose the idea of cube satellite as a means to enhance understanding and verification of laser propagation in the uplink. Additionally, we present the results of conceptual design by analyzing requirements, focusing on mission design of the CLUB cube satellite, following the stages of systems engineering for systematic cube satellite development.

  • 디지털 제작, 압축 기술의 발전, 유무선 인터넷 보급 확산, 다양한 전송 및 서비스 플랫폼의 등장, 전송 기술의 광대역화, 단말 기술의 발전, 라이프스타일 변화와 킬러 서비스 등장으로 미디어 시장은 급속도로 발전하고 있다. 지상파 방송은 아날로그에서 디지털로 전환하고 있으며, 고화질, 다채널, 모바일, 3D 서비스를 제공하거나 제공할 예정에 있다. 현재 디지털 TV는 아날로그 TV와 동시 방송 형태로 제공되고 있지만 2012년말 디지털 TV로 완전한 전환을 앞두고 있으며, 모바일 TV인 DMB는 2005년말 본방송을 시작하여 전국 서비스를 제공하고 방송 커버리지를 확장하고 있다. FM과 AM의 디지털화를 위한 디지털 오디오 방송도 방식 선정을 위한 절차가 진행 중이다. 전파는 송신소에서 단말까지 전송되는 도중 신호레벨 감쇠, 페이딩, 왜곡, 잡음 유입 등을 겪게 된다. 양질의 지상파 방송을 제공하기 위해서는 전파가 수신 가능한 상태 이상의 양호한 상태로 시청자에게 전달되어야 한다. 이를 위해 방송사는 방송 수신 품질을 측정하고 수신이 불량한 지역에 대해서는 송신기 설치, 송신 출력 증강, 중계기 설치 등을 통해 양질의 서비스 제공이 가능한 방송 서비스 영역을 확대한다. 다양한 지상파 방송 매체에서 수신 품질 평가를 위해 가장 많이 측정하는 항목은 전계강도이다. 대부분의 경우 어떤 지역의 전계강도가 해당 매체가 요구하는 기준 레벨 이상이면 해당 지역을 양호 지역으로 평가한다. 본 논문에서는 다양한 지상파 방송 매체에 대한 전계강도를 측정하고 이를 분석할 수 있는 시스템을 제안하고자 한다. 제안 시스템을 이용하면 자동화된 절차에 의해 최단 시간에 다양한 지역에 대한 방송 수신 품질을 측정하고, 그 결과를 분석하여 방송 서비스 영역에 대한 평가를 내릴 수 있으며, 측정결과를 DB로 관리하여 동일 채널에 대한 이전 측정결과와 비교 분석, 다른 채널과 전계강도 비교 분석을 통해 특정 송신기 출력이 감소되거나 특정 안테나 출력에 문제가 발생한 경우에도 이를 쉽게 감지하여 최적의 방송망 구축 및 관리가 가능하다.

Study on Retrodirective Cross-eye Structure using Linear Phased Array Antenna (선형 위상배열 안테나를 이용한 역지향성 크로스아이 구조에 관한 연구)

  • This study proposes a novel structure for the cross-eye, one of the representative jamming techniques of monopulse sensors. The proposed jammer tranceivers are composed of multi-channels with phased array antenna. We named this structure PRCJ(Phased array Retrodicetive Cross-eye Jammer). In this structure, formulas for calculating cross-eye gain and distance error are derived. We compare the properties of PRCJ with two-element retrodiredtive cross-eye jammer(TRCJ). PRCJ can achieve higher J/S because this structure can steer the spatially combined jamming signal in the direction of the incident monopulse signal. Because of the multiple channels in the phased array, it also increases the degree of freedom of channel matching. Finally, We preform a statistical analysis of the cross-eye gain according to the amplitude and phase errors. From this results, It has been found that PRCJ can get higher cross-eye gain than TRCJ.

Measurement of nonlinear optical constant of organic single crystal para-toluene sulfonate prepared by slow solution evaporation method (늦은 용액증발법으로 제작한 유기단결정 para-toluene sulfonate의 비선형 광학상수 측정)

  • Organic single crystal of p-toluene sulfonate(PTS) bulks and thin films were fabricated using a slow solution evaporation method. Third and fifth order nonlinear refractive indices, $n_2$and $n_3$, of PTS crystals at 1600 nm were determined by the Z-scan method and the multimode output of the PTS thin film waveguide was observed at 1350 nm. When the beam intensity is in 2-5 GW/$cm^2$, the nonlinear refractive indices are $n_{2}=6{\times}10^{-4}cm^{2}$/GW and $n_{3}=-7{\times}10^{-5}cm^{4}/GW^{2}$ and the two and three photon absorption coefficients are zero. When the beam intensity is in 5~16 GW/$cm^2$, the split-step fast Fourier transform beam propagation method simulation shows that the beam propagation in the PTS is distorted from the gaussian shape.
