A Real-time System of Crowd Animation with Motion Pre-processing Method (동작 전처리 기법을 활용한 실시간 군중 애니메이션 시스템)

  • Research field on crowd animation can be classified into two major categories. One is to offer realism of the crowd motion and the other is to improve speed of the animation. For the last decade, a lot of research on realism and behavior of crowd have been presented. But lately, research on improving speed seems like more interesting. Therefore, in this paper, we conducted an experiment to analyze what is the main bottleneck of crowd animation. As the result, we find out one of the most important bottleneck is the number of joints transformed in each animation frame. In order to resolve this problem we propose a novel level-of-detail technique 'motion level-of-detail', which is a joint-reduction technique operated in the pre-processing time. We used a non-linear optimization, SQP (sequential quadric programming), to generate the low detailed motions.

Study on Difference of Wordvectors Analysis Induced by Text Preprocessing for Deep Learning (딥러닝을 위한 텍스트 전처리에 따른 단어벡터 분석의 차이 연구)

  • It makes difference to LSTM D/L(Deep Learning) results for language model construction as the corpus preprocess changes. An LSTM model was trained with a famouse literaure poems(Ki Hyung-do's work) for training corpus in the study. You get the two wordvector sets for two corpus sets of the original text and eraised word ending text each once D/L training completed. It's been inspected of the similarity/analogy operation results, the positions of the wordvectors in 2D plane and the generated texts by the language models for the two different corpus sets. The suggested words by the silmilarity/analogy operations are changed for the corpus sets but they are related well considering the corpus characteristics as a literature work. The positions of the wordvectors are different for each corpus sets but the words sustained the basic meanings and the generated texts are different for each corpus sets also but they have the taste of the original style. It's supposed that the D/L language model can be a useful tool to enjoy the literature in object and in diverse with the analysis results shown in the study.

An Image Separation Scheme using Independent Component Analysis and Expectation-Maximization (독립성분 분석과 E-M을 이용한 혼합영상의 분리 기법)

  • In this paper, a new method for the mixed image separation is presented using the independent component analysis, the innovation process, and the expectation-maximization. In general, the independent component analysis (ICA) is one of the widely used statistical signal processing schemes, which represents the information from observations as a set of random variables in the from of linear combinations of another statistically independent component variables. In various useful applications, ICA provides a more meaningful representation of the data than the principal component analysis through the transformation of the data to be quasi-orthogonal to each other. which can be utilized in linear projection.. However, it has been known that ICA does not establish good performance in source separation by itself. Thus, in order to overcome this limitation, there have been many techniques that are designed to reinforce the good properties of ICA, which improves the mixed image separation. Unfortunately, the innovation process still needs to be studied since it yields inconsistent innovation process that is attached to the ICA, the expectation and maximization process is added. The results presented in this paper show that the proposed improves the image separation as presented in experiments.

Processing Techniques for Non-photorealistic Contents Rendering in Mobile Devices (모바일 기기에서의 비실사적 콘텐츠 렌더링을 위한 프로세싱 기법)

  • Recently, development of mobile service and increased demand for mobile device make mobile environment noticeable in computer graphics. Especially demand for 3D graphic services in mobile devices is steadily increased. However up to the present non-photorealistic rendering is mainly studied in desktop platform. In the result, existing research were designed for desktop computers and are not well-suited for mobile devices. Thus, there is a growing needs for processing techniques that provide the ability to render 3D non-photorealistic graphics through mobile devices. In this paper, we discuss processing techniques for non-photorealistic rendering that are especially cartoon shading and rendering in mobile devices. Through the result of this research, it is expected that silhouette edge rendering for mobile display environment and preprocessing file technique for shading. The efficiency of 3D mobile graphic service like 3D model in cartoon style is increased by using proposed preprocessing file and rendering pipeline. Our work can provide mobile cartoon rendering results and various mobile contents to users.

  • Efficient implementation of pre-filtering has been an important issue in video sequence coding, because it can remove camera noise and improve coding efficiency dramatically This paper introduces a novel pre-filtering scheme that is performed inside a video encoder The proposed pre-filtering is based on the approximated generalized Wiener filtering and two-dimensional discrete cosine transform (DCT) factorization. and is achieved by scaling the DCT coefficients of original image blocks for intra block coding and those of motion-compensated error blocks for inter block coding, respectively Even though the pre-filtering operation is embedded in a video encoder, its additional computational complexity is marginal compared to the encoding process, and the overall architecture of the conventional video encoder is maintained In spite of its simplicity, the proposed pre-filtering scheme provides good filtering and coding performance for noisy video sequences.

  • The Korean peninsula has been known to be very difficult to acquire clean MT and GDS data due to its highly industrialization and civilization. In this environment, a pre-screening step selecting data segments with a proper S/N ration is an essential one. This study modified the automatic pre-screening step based on the spectral power of electromagnetic field (RMP) taking account of the situation of the Korean Peninsula. The modified RMP technique was applied to MT data measured at seven sites located in middle part of the peninsula. In the whole sense, the RMP technique considerably improved the connectivity of apparent resistivity and phase curves around the period of 10 sec. In addition, the results processed by the RMP technique showed a very little difference with those derived from manual editing, and the superior performance of it is found especially in the connectivity of apparent resistivity curve.

  • 악성코드를 탐지하는 기법 중 동적 분석데이터와 같은 시계열 데이터는 프로그램마다 호출되는 API의 수가 모두 다르다. 하지만 딥러닝 모델을 통해 분석할 때는 모델의 입력이 되는 데이터의 크기가 모두 같아야 한다. 이에 본 논문은 TF-IDF(Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency)와 슬라이딩 윈도우 기법을 이용해 프로그램의 동적 특성을 유지하면서 데이터의 길이를 일정하게 만들 수 있는 전처리 기법과 LSTM(Long Short-Term Memory) 모델을 통해 정확도(Accuracy) 95.89%, 재현율(Recall) 97.08%, 정밀도(Precision) 95.9%, F1-score 96.48%를 달성했다.

  • 본 논문에서는 얼굴 영상의 변화를 보상할 수 있는 전처리 과정으로서 기하학적 특징에 기반한 순수 얼굴 영역 검출 기법을 도입하고 분류기로서 간단한 정합 기법을 사용한 얼굴 인식 기법을 제안한다. 실험결과를 보면 제안한 기법은 NNC, BPN, SVM 분류 기법에 비해 월등한 성능을 가진다.

Low Complexity Channel Preprocessor for Multiple Antenna Communication Systems (다중 안테나 통신 시스템을 위한 저복잡도 채널 전처리 프로세서)

  • In this paper, the channel preprocessor with an area-efficient architecture is proposed for the MIMO symbol detector which can support four transmit and receive antennas. The proposed channel preprocessor can shrink the channel dimension to reduce the hardware complexity of the MIMO symbol detector. Also, the proposed channel preprocessor is implemented with very low complexity by using QR decomposition (QRD) and log-number system (LNS). By applying QRD and LNS to the nulling matrix calculation block, the numbers of matrix-multiplications and matrix-divisions are decreased and thus the complexity of the proposed channel preprocessor is significantly reduced. The proposed channel preprocessor was designed in a hardware description language (HDL) and synthesized to gate-level circuits using 0.13um CMOS standard cell library. With the proposed channel preprocessor, the number of logic gates for channel preprocessor is reduced by 20.2% compared with the conventional architecture.

  • 본 논문에서는 광학센서와 적외선 센서를 사용하는 Multi-sensor 시스템에서 영상 정보를 통한 물체의 추적 및 인식에 필요한 영상을 분리하는데 필요한 전처리와 object 기반의 추적 방법을 제안하였다. 일반적인 추적 알고리즘의 목표는 consistency를 유지하는데 있다. 그러나 인식에 필요한 영상을 분리하기 위해서는 물체의 범위를 정확히 판단 할 수 있는 능력이 중요하다. 이를 위해 CCD와 IR영상에 동시에 적용 가능한 전처리 기법과 object 기반의 two-step 추적 알고리즘을 통해 consistency외에도, 물체의 범위를 estimation하여 인식에 필요한 범위를 분리해 낸다. 본 논문에서는 ITS 의 ETCS application을 위해 이종 센서인 CCD와 IR의 야간 차량 영상정보를 이용하여 알고리즘을 test 하였다.
