Analysis of E-Waste Disposal Trends in a Security Perspective (보안관점의 전자폐기물 처리동향 분석 연구)

  • The increased demand for electronic components, spurred by the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the COVID-19 pandemic, has facilitated human life but also escalated the production of e-waste. Discussions on the impact of e-waste have primarily revolved around environmental, health, and social issues, with global legislations focusing on addressing these concerns. However, e-waste poses unique security risks, such as potential technological and personal information leaks, unlike conventional waste. Current discourse on e-waste security is notably insufficient. This study aims to empirically analyze the relatively overlooked trends in e-waste security, employing three methodologies. Firstly, it assesses the general trend in discussions on e-waste by analyzing year-wise documents and media reports. Secondly, it identifies key trends in e-waste security by examining documents on the subject. Thirdly, the study reviews national security guidelines related to e-waste disposal to assess the necessity of designing security strategies for e-waste management. This research is significant as it is one of the first in korea to address e-waste from a security perspective and offers a multi-dimensional analysis of e-waste security trends. The findings are expected to enhance domestic awareness of e-waste and its security issues, providing an opportunity for proactive response to these security risks.

A study on the Mechanical Properties of Concrete using Electronic Waste as Fine Aggregate (전자폐기물을 잔골재로 적용한 콘크리트의 역학적 특성에 관한 연구)

  • The quantities of electronic waste have been increased rapidly, and was caused variety problems such as environmental pollution or dissipation of resource. So, it needed to development of recycling technology about heavy metal in the electronic waste. Meanwhile, filler material (concrete or mortar) was used for shielding radioactive waste, however, it did not used materials that it is proved radiation shielding performance. So, there is a lack of confidence in the shielding performance. Therefore, in this paper, mechanical properties of concrete was evaluated for the applicability using electronic waste as fine aggregate of filler material. From the test results, compressive and flexural strength and elasticity modulus and the micro pore in the $1{\mu}m$ range was significantly affected by substitution of electronic waste, however, it could be improved the performance by using mineral admixture as binder. So, it is shown that the electronic waste could be applicable as fine aggregate of filler material.

  • 지구온난화와 기후변화로 인해 전세계적으로 기업, 정부는 ESG(Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance)에 관심을 가지고 있다. 이에 따라 폐기물 분류 및 재활용에도 관심을 가지고 있지만 국내 외 폐기물 분류는 정확하게 이루어 지지 않고 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 객체 인식의 대표 모델인 YOLOv5 를 이용해 폐기물 중 대표인 페트병 탐지 시스템을 제안한다. 제안하는 시스템은 페트병 사이 다른 폐기물을 감지해 내고 페트병 중 유색과 투명 페트병을 분류를 한다. 향후, 제안하는 시스템의 성능 평가가 필요하고 다른 폐기물로 확장이 필요하다.

  • 산업폐기물 처리 및 관리는 제조 산업 관련한 공통된 이슈 중 하나이며, 폐기물의 적시 처리는 환경오염, 화재 등 사고 예방에 효과적이며, 특히 인체유해물질 발생 전 처리는 필수이다. 메타버스 공간內 공동 폐기물처리장을 마련함으로써 별도의 물리적/현실에서 공동 폐기물 처리장을 별도로 구축할 필요성이 없으며, 동일한 효과성을 발휘할 수 있는 콘텐츠 서비스로 제조 뿐 아니라 다양한 산업 내에서 활용성 역시 매우 높다. 이러한 산업폐기물 관리 서비스 3종을 구현하고 실증 방안을 제시하고자한다.
