Blind Adaptive Interference Suppression Using CMA for Multipath DS-CDMA Channels (다중 경로 DS-CDMA 채널을 위한 CMA 기반의 블라인드 적응 간섭 제거)

  • DS-CDMA (direct sequence-code division multiple access) 시스템에서 여러 사용자가 동일 주파수 대역을 공유함으로써 다중 접속 간섭 (multiple access interference; MAI)이 발생하고 시스템의 성능을 크게 제한한다. 이러한 다중 접속 간섭을 제거하여 전송 신호의 질을 높이고 용량을 증대시키는 중요한 신호 처리 기술 가운데 하나가 적응 간섭 억제 기술이다. 적응 간섭 억제 기술 가운데 CMA (constant modulus algorithm) 기반의 블라인드 적응 간섭 억제기는 훈련수열을 필요로 하지 않고 빠른 수렴을 통하여 간섭을 효과적으로 제거할 수 있으나, 다중 경로 환경에서 심벌간 간섭 (intersymbol interference; ISI)이 증대되어 기존의 적응 수신기보다 악화된 성능을 보인다. 본 논문에서는 CMA를 기반으로 훈련 수열 없이 빠른 수렴을 하며 MAI와 ISI를 효과적으로 제거하기 위한 다이버시티 결합기 구조의 적응 간섭 억제기를 제한한다. 다중 경로 페이딩 채널 환경에서 기존의 블라인드 적응간섭 억제기와의 성능 비교 결과, 제안된 방식이 다중경로에 의한 ISI의 영향을 효과적으로 제거하여 우수한 성능을 얻을 수 있음을 확인하였다.

  • This paper shows the performance of a multiuser detection DS-CDMA receiver based on of the hybrid scheme of parallel interference cancellation (PIC) and successive interference cancellation (SIC). The proposed hybrid interference cancellation is presented and is compared with existing PIC, SIC and Hybrid It of other type schemes. The performance criteria used for comparison are complexity, delay and average bit error rate (BER) performance obtained by simulation in Rayleigh-fading channel (Jake's model) with additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN). In the proposed hybrid IC, the BER performance approximates the one of SIC and the delay is half of the SIC. And the number of cancellation of the hybrid It is reduced about a fourth.

Reduction of Electromagnetic Interference between the LCD Driving Module and WWAN Antennas (LCD 구동 모듈과 WWAN 안테나 간의 전자기 간섭 감소에 대한 연구)

  • In this paper, we analyzed the RF interactions between WWAN antennas and an LCD driving module inside the cover of a notebook computer, and discussed reduction method of RF coupling. In order to simulate the RF noise source from the LCD driving module, a multi-band antenna was designed and used with a simplified notebook model to test the RF coupling phenomena. We verified that the RF noise coupling is enhanced at certain frequencies due to cavity structure formed inside the notebook computer. Also, we showed that conductive barrier walls, which are inserted inside the notebook, could be effective in reducing RF coupling.

Design and Implementation of In-band Interference Reduction Module (동일대역 간섭저감기의 설계 및 구현)

  • The existing in-band interference reduction method recommends the physical separation distance between wireless devices and interference signals, and the interference can be suppressed through the separation distance. If the in-band interference signals can be reduced in a wireless device, a margin can be given to the physical separation distance. Since there is an effect of extending the receiver dynamic range of receivers, it is highly useful for interference reduction and improvement method. In this paper, the structure of an in-band analog IRM(Interference Reduction Module) is proposed and the design and implementation of the proposed analog IRM are described. To design an analog IRM, the interference reduction performance according to the delay mismatch, phase error and the number of delay lines that affect the performance of the analog IRM was simulated. The proposed analog IRM composed of 16 delay lines was implemented and the implemented IRM has the interference reduction performance of about 10dB for a 5G(NR-FR1-TM-1.1) signal having a 40MHz bandwidth at a center frequency of 3.32GHz. The analog IRM proposed in this paper can be used as an in-band interference canceller.

  • DS/CDMA 이동통신 환경에서 채널의 용량을 제한하는 가장 큰 요인은 다중 사용자 간섭 신호의 영향이다. 본 논문에서는 어레이 안테나와 적응 혼합 다중 사용자 검파기 구조 (MUD: Multi-User Detection)를 이용하여 이러한 문제를 제거한다. 어레이 안테나의 각각의 빔 형성기는 MUD에서 궤환되는 기준 신호를 이용하여 원하는 사용자의 방향으로 빔을 형성하고 간섭 신호 방향으로는 널을 형성하여 제거하게 된다. 수신 신호의 전력이 제어되지 못하여 원근 문제(near-far problem)가 발생할 경우, 제안한 MUD는 적응적으로 지배적인 상관 값에 대해서는 직렬형, 비슷한 크기의 신호들은 병렬형 간섭 제거기를 통하여 제거함으로써 기존의 고정형 간섭 제거기보다 우수한 성능을 나타내었다.

  • 본 논문에서의 기존의 2선식 댁내 망을 이용하여 ISDN PRI(2.048MHz)급의 전송을 위해 DS-CDMA방식을 적용하는 방법을 제안한다. TE 와 NT 의 신호의 검출을 위해 자기의 확산코드와 정합된 단일 사용자 검출기를 사용할 수 있으나, 검출하려는 신호와 다른 사용자 신호간의 다원접속간섭(Multiple Access Interference)에 의해 시스템의 성능이 저하된다. 본 논문에서는 다원접속간섭을 효과적으로 제거할 수 있는 최소평균제곱오차 (Minimum Mean Squared Error) 다중사용자 간섭제거기를 사용하고 컴퓨터 모의실험을 통하여 성능을 분석한다.

Device Miniaturization Using Stepped Multimode-Interference Couplers (계단형 다중모드 간섭 결합기를 사용한 소자의 소형화)

  • In this paper, a novel architecture for device miniaturization of multimode interference-based couplers (MMICs) is proposed by replacing conventionally designed MMICs by cascaded two-section stepped-width or stepped-index MMICs. For the 82% cross coupling efficiency in a stepped-width MMIC, the coupling length of device results in just 6.7% length reduction. However, for a stepped-width and stepped-index MMIC, the coupling efficiency increases to 93% and the length reduction of 9% occurs. Furthermore, with additional incorporation of tapered devices, it shows that a compact MMIC can be designed in which the coupling efficiency is 90% and the length is reduced to 25%.

  • In this paper, we introduce a modified interference cancellation scheme for multiuser detection in CDMA(Code Division Multiple Access). This detector uses SIC(Successive Interference Canceller) scheme and divides the received signals to reduce the delay time. In this proposed structure, the active users are divided into a number of groups. Within each group, parallel detection is performed to estimate the output signal of that group. The estimated output signal due to that group is then subtracted from the received signal and the resulting residual signal is used for the parallel detection of the next group. This parallel and serial cancellation process is repeated until the last group in the stage is completed. The estimated output signals due to all groups except -th group are MAI for the user signals in -th group. Therefore, the estimated output signals due to all groups except th group are subtracted from the received signal, and then the obtained signal becomes the input signal of -th SIC. The proposed RDSIC (Reduced Delay time of Successive Interference Canceller) has performance and complexity close to the SIC, but with much less detection delay.

  • The optimum solutions of MOSCOS antenna arrangement were studied to solve the EMI between it and EWT mounted on an MTB. Two candidates of optimal place for MOSCOS antenna were determined by using a fishbone diagram to determine seven reasons based on 4M1E, to identify the design factors on Friis equations, and to analyze the case study of EMI related to MOSCOS. MOSCOS antenna was rearranged by the final optimal position, which was selected by measuring the Power Spectral Density (PSD) at two locations, and the proposed improvement was tested on board to determine its efficiency.

  • We investigate some implementation factors that affect the performance of multi-rate parallel interference cancellers (PICs) for the international mobile telecommunications-2000 (IMT-2000) 3rd-generation partnership project (3GPP) system. We consider the simple multi-rate PIC [1,2] that can remove effectively multiple access interference (MAI) through block-based detection and sample-based cancellation in asynchronous user environments. The PIC structure has significantly lower complexity as compared with that of the existing scheme, especially as the number of users increases. We analyze the effects of timing error, oversampling rate, unsynchronized users and/or outer-cell interference, and the number of Quantization bits on the PIE performance through extensive computer simulations. The models for such factors and the optimum parameters are drawn. Finally, we evaluate the receiver complexities of the PIC receivers employing using the advanced removal scheme.
