A Proposal of Media Exhibition Contents for the Aquarium - Focused on 'Gyeongpo Lagoon Ecological Museum' (아쿠아리움을 위한 미디어 전시 콘텐츠 제안 - 경포 석호생태관을 중심으로)

  • In this paper, we propose digital exhibition contents for the aquarium, especially 'Gyeongpo Lagoon Ecological Museum'. We try to plan appropriate media contents that can be mixed with the aquarium storytelling. The aquarium must have special spaces that are not related with an exhibition directly but are necessary for survival of fishes such as a water circulation room. We design the special spaces using media contents and let visitors feel that the whole aquarium is in the ocean. First of all, we investigate the aquarium currently under construction. And then, we propose the appreciate media platforms and plan individual content. We suggest 3 types of media platforms, 3D water projection, interactive games utilizing Kinect, and a fog screen. Moreover, we produce 2D drawing concepts, 3D modeling images, and virtual exhibitions in virtual reality for the representation of the location in which those platforms are installed and the media contents we plan. The pre-visualization is helpful for the media platform construction and is used as a rough sketch to producing an animation shown in the exhibition.

  • The Public-founded Museum for Enlargement must Propel some articles of the following. Firstly, it can satisfy the regional inhabitants' desire but also make a role and function by means of synthesis of cultural artistic space. Secondly, it must build up The Operational system of The Central information System for the systematic managing or various kinds of data, The Thirdly the Spatial Creation in consideration of the citizens' advantage is needed for the citizen's easy approach to the museum. The Fourthly, it builds up public services like convenient facilities and resting areas. Fifthly, it must provide information through the build up the Cyber-Museum for the survival in the information-oriented, Globalization of current times. Next, it focus's on the public advantage of not mixing mean and purpose but of having a geared mind. Lastly, it educates the regional inhabitants through training professional human resources in each sphere.

  • 본 연구에서는 가상전시 시스템에서 제품의 시각적 디자인에 대한 고객의 관심도를 자동으로 평가하기 위한 영상분석 기법을 제시한다. 전시공간의 동영상으로부터 모션인식, 목표물 감지 및 추적기법을 통하여 기본 특징을 추출하고 이로부터 대상자의 행동패턴을 인식한다. 정의된 각 행동패턴에 따라 상품의 관심도와의 관계를 반영하는 가중치 파라미터를 정의하였으며 이에 대한 학습알고리즘을 제안하였다. 실험으로서 4종류, 종 24개 제품에 대하여 제안된 방법을 적용한 결과를, 직접조사를 통한 실제 관심도 자료와 비교하여 분석함으로써 제안된 기법의 유용성을 평가하였다.

Analysis of Interaction by Exhibition Type of Virtual Museum (가상 뮤지엄의 전시유형별 상호작용 분석)

  • With the real museum changing from a center of viewing to a center of experience and communication, virtual museums have become independent as well as auxiliary and alternative roles for real museums. Therefore, it is necessary to review the concept and meaning of virtual museums and analyze the attributes of each exhibition type. This paper categorizes the exhibition types of virtual museums into four categories and analyzes the interaction methods of each exhibition type. The essential characteristics of interaction subjects affect all four types, but the method of virtual expression is distinguished, and the exhibition type that actively utilizes the virtuality of exhibition space and work expands the user's experience and communication. In this study, various forms and methods of construction of virtual museums can be explored by providing characteristics and considerations for each type of exhibition during the planning and construction of virtual museums.

  • For a society to be constantly sustained, it needs its past memories to be made present into cultural memories. The state of oblivion resulted from the time difference of the past and the present is commonly made present into commemoration days or memorial spaces. Each has its own form of representation it reflects, but all are related to how past is remembered and how it will be formed. Records, especially the authentic records the nation secured, have an ontological feature of proof that is able to persuade the current present of the past present, and inherent in it is faith that originates from fundamental objectivity. Therefore the image of silence that such strictness of records creates realizes the detonation of specific memories through the act of visual exhibition. Hence, this paper endeavors to examine how the national records, particularly the photographical records, was utilized and how it influenced the people and the society after its organization, through analysing examples of memorial spaces.

  • 지역 박물관은 대도시의 대규모 박물관에 비하여 전시물의 양과 질 그리고 관람객의 접근성에 있어서 열세에 있다. 이러한 가운데 최근 과학기술 문화사업 시행계획에 의한 중점 추진 전략으로써 지방테마 과학관 지원사업이 실행되고 있다. 지역 박물관중 특히 과학관은 어린이와 청소년층의 교육에 크게 도움이 되는 전시를 특징으로 하며 현재 세계 각국에서 다양한 주제로 관람객의 방문을 유도하고 있다. 이러한 기초 조사를 통해 지역의 문화유산을 보다 잘 보존하고 지역 문화 발전과 지역경제에 이바지하는 시설로 자리 잡는데 필요한 마케팅의 디자인 요소를 분석하고 살펴보고자 한다.

Approach Characteristics and Status of Exhibition-culture Facilities in Gangneung (강릉지역 전시문화시설의 현황 및 진입특징)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the approach characteristics, relation to other facilities, and current status focusing on 28 total of exhibition-culture facilities in Gangneung. The results are following as. First, 19 facilities are located in urban area and nine are located in country side. With locational characteristics of Gangneung which is mountains in west and sea to east, three are located in high hill side and four are in sea shore among nine facilities. Facilities in urban area converge to Gungpodae and Ojukhuk which are symbol space in Gangneung. Those facilities started to have been increased from 1990s and rapidly increased from 2000s. The reason is that people have been interested in culture and art in society in general. In building structure, buildings related with traditional contents were constructed with wooden structure while buildings have been mainly constructed with modern ways such as steel and reinforced concrete structure. Second, the 28 facilities are classified into three types by function of other space or facilities within same a site or a building. The three types are themselves usage only, multi-function, and park type. The multi-function type is re-classified into two; public type and commercial type. Those functions have changed according to changes of society and times. Finally, for approaching to the exhibition-culture facilities with general transportation, the mean distance from the closest bus stop to those facilities each is 280m and 27 facilities are located within 670m from the closest bus stop. For approaching way using by car creates movement along road-building site-parking space-main entrance of building. When based on main entrance by the movement, parking space located in front side of main entrance is the largest, next is in the side, and the least is in back side. Various factors such as approaching form from road to parking space and space size between main entrance and parking space influence to approaching ways of exhibition-culture facilities in Gangneung.

  • The purpose of this study is suggest the guideline by analyzing and categorizing the case of trends of Beacon technological development and Beacon-Based service in culture and art space of domestic and overseas. I did some literature research followed with theoretical background of beacon service, also did case study of beacon service application in domestic and overseas culture space. The result indicate that beacon technology can provide a variety services in a wide space. Through domestic and overseas case studies, it was found that beacon service in domestic exhibition space should be given as experience-oriented services beyond benefit-oriented services. As this point of time, this study will become a good resource for various communication services through beacon service in Korea.

A Design of Participative Problem Based Learning (PBL) Class in Metaverse (메타버스에서의 참여형 PBL 수업 설계)

  • Recently, as per a representative education method to develop core capabilities (such as critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity) problem based learning (PBL) has been widely adopted in universities. Two important features of PBL are 'collaboration between team members' and 'participation based self-directed learning'. These two features should be satisfied in online education, although it is difficult due to the limitation on space and time in the COVID-19 pandemic. This paper presents a new design of PBL class in Metaverse, based on improving the online PBL class operated in the previous semesters in the H university. In the proposed PBL class, students are able to display materials (e.g., image, pdf, video files) in 3D virtual space, that are related to problem solving. The 3D virtual space is called gallery in this paper. The concept of gallery allows for active participation of students. In addition, the gallery can be used as a tool for collaborative meeting or for final presentation. If possible, the new design of PBL class will be applied and its effectiveness will be analyzed.

  • 본 논문에서는 박물관이나 전시공간처럼 조도가 낮은 환경에서 마커기반 증강현실 구현이 가능한 마커를 살펴보고 실용적 마커 제작 방법을 제안한다. 조도가 낮고 어두운 환경에서 일반적인 마커나, 이미지, 객체를 인식하여 증강현실을 구현하는 것은 매우 어렵다. 마커기반 증강현실의 몰입감을 저감시키지 않기 위해 제안되었던 눈에 보이지 않는 마커 방식은 제시한 어두운 환경에 적용이 가능하다. 하지만 이와 같은 상황에서 사용되는 마커는 실제 제작과 사용에 있어 제약이 있다. 따라서 기존의 보이지 않는 마커의 특징을 분석하여 제약 사항과 문제점을 개선하고 실용적인 마커 구현 방법을 제시한다. 기존의 방법과 비교하여 제안하는 방법으로 구현된 마커는 품질이 일정하고, 제작이 편의성이 향상되었다.
