An Efficient Power Allocation Algorithm in OFDM-based Wireless Sensor Networks using Reserve Power (OFDM 기반 무선 센서 네트워크에서의 Reserve Power를 이용한 효율적인 파워 할당 알고리즘)

  • Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) has been investigated as promising technology for future broadband communication. In this paper, we propose a power allocation algorithm for a frequency selective fading channel. However, many investigated algorithms that perform high computation overhead are not appropriate for sensor network systems due to hardware limitations. The proposed algorithm significantly reduces computational overhead and satisfies the power budget. Throughput of the algorithm is comparable to the optimum solution. Simulation results support the claim stated.

  • This paper proposes a new method to optimize energy consumption in a wireless modem by setting up a transmission power value according to the distance between nodes and circumstance in the MAC layer of IEEE 802.15.4. The proposed method can dynamically find an optimal transmission power range using the binary search scheme and minimize overhead caused by multiple message transmissions when determining the optimal transmission power. The determined transmission power is used for transmitting data packets and can be modified dynamically depending on the changes in a network environment when exchanging data packets and acknowledgement signals. The results of the simulations show 30% reduction in energy consumption while 2.5 times increase in data transmission rate per unit of energy comparing with IEEE 802.15.4 standard.

  • We analyze transmission performance of radio frequency signal in WDM-ROF (wavelength division multiplexing - radio over fiber) system employing photonic crystal fiber. In a WDM-ROF system employing conventional single-mode fiber, transmission performance of radio frequency signal is analyzed depending on each WDM channel. In this case, each WDM channel experiences power fluctuation of received RF signal in remote node because of double sidebands of the modulated signal and wavelength dependent dispersion of single mode fiber. This RF power fluctuation acts as a design constraint in viewpoint of system design. By employing photonic crystal fiber (PCF) with dispersion compensation characteristics, the transmission performance of RF signal can be improved compared with the case with SMF only.

  • 본 논문은 에너지 하베스팅을 하는 다수의 중계기를 사용하여 다중 홉 통신을 하는 시스템을 다룬다. 중계기는 파워 비콘에서 보내는 무선 에너지 신호를 이용하여 신호 전송에 필요한 에너지를 얻는다. 신호 전송은 여러 프레임을 통해 이루어 지는데, K 개의 프레임 동안 에너지를 하베스팅하고, 다음 프레임에 다중 홉으로 정보 신호 전송을 한다. 이 때 수신기에서의 불능 확률을 1) K 가 변화할 때, 2) 다중 홉 수 가 변화할 때로 나누어 시뮬레이션 한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 400kHz 10kW RF Source와 최대전력전달을 하기 위해 가변임피던스 정합기를 이용하여 파워 소스를 준비하였고, 송수신코일은 EE71형태의 페라이트코어에 테프론 와이어를 결선하여 구성하였다. 본 연구에서는 MF대역의 주파수를 이용하므로 자기유도방식을 채택하였다. 무선전력전송에서는 최대로 전력이 전달하기 위하여 송수신 코일과 부하간에 임피던스 매칭이 필수적으로 필요하다. 매칭이 원할하지 않을 경우 RF Source에 반사전력이 반사되어 심각한 손상을 발생할 수 있으며, 수신부 코일의 부하단에 최대로 전력이 전달되지 않을 뿐만 아니라 전체 시스템 효율이 나빠지게 된다 본 연구에서는 임피던스 정합기를 이용하여 자기유도방식에서 최적의 송수신 전송 조건을 도출하였다.

  • This paper consider a code-division multiple-access(CDMA) wireless ad-hoc network in low-SINR regime. In previous research [6], there has been proposed a algorithm for achieving global optimum at high SINR regime, but has not been fully investigated at low-SINR regime. In this paper, we focus on a case where SINR is much smaller than 1, and propose a algorithm that is suitable for low-SINR regime.

  • In the case of designing an acoustic transducer for high power application, we usually aim to transfer the source electric energy to the output acoustic energy as large as possible. For this purpose, we should match the impedance of the power amplifier to the impedance combined with the acoustic transducer impedance and the radiation impedance. Especially if we have electrical source with almost zero impedance, we need improve the power factor of the acoustic transducer in the load. In this paper, we propose a broad band impedance matching method by the improvement of power factor, which applies ABCD matrix.

  • In recent years, mobile devices and high-hearth because of the multi-functional, battery usage is increasing. But compared to the required computing power increases the battery's energy capacity of the research is going slowly. In this paper we use the battery discharge characteristics, can be used in battery research and to increase the effective capacity, wireless transmission of power from the system just by turning off the technology to extend battery life is explained. Experimental transmission of images through the standard battery drain intervals according to measuring battery life, and applications used in these experiments and heuristic to optimize battery run time was achieved.

Medium to Long Range Wireless Video Transmission Scheme in 2.4GHz Band with Beamforming (빔 형성을 적용한 2.4GHz 대역 중장거리 영상 전송 무선 기술)

  • In this paper, we propose a wireless video transmission scheme, providing medium and long range communication in the 2.4GHz band with beamforming. With this scheme, it is shown that the transmission rate of 32Mbps and received signal power of -77dBm is achieved with 4 antennas of 5dBi and 16dBm transmit power at each antenna connection for the distance of 3.6km. The scheme also provides transmission distance of 20km for 10~12Mbps with the 4 omni-directional antennas of 5dBi.
