Performance Prediction of SOFC using Numerical Analysis (전산해석을 이용한 SOFC 성능 예측)

  • 본 연구에서는 SOFC 시스템 설계기술 개발을 위한 기초 연구로서 전산해석을 이용한 SOFC 성능예측 기법을 개발하였다. 기본설계 단계에서 SOFC의 성능을 개략적으로 예측할 수 있는 1차원 예측 모델을 정립하였으며, 온도, 조성, 전해질, 전극 두께 등을 비롯한 다양한 조건 변화에 따른 성능예측을 수행하여 실험값과 비교한 결과 최대전력밀도 조건에서 23%의 오차를 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 Stack 제작단계에서 다양한 운전조건과 형상변화에 따른 SOFC 성능 변화를 예측할 수 있는 3차원 해석기법을 정립하였으며, 최대전력밀도에서 5.1%의 오차를 보였다. 포괄적인 열 및 물질 전달 현상과 전기화학반응을 3차원적으로 해석함으로써 보다 정확한 예측이 가능하였다. 또한 수소와 적당량의 수분을 함께 공급할 경우 SOFC 성능이 향상되는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구에서 개발된 기술을 활용할 경우 시제품 제작 전에 전지시스템의 성능을 미리 예측할 수 있으므로, 향후 제품 개발시 제작비용 절감과 설계기간 단축에 기여할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

  • The Instrumental Variable Method(IVM), modified from least square algorithm, is applied to parameter identification of a noise contaminated bearing test rig. The signal to noise ratio included in Frequency Response Function(FRF) can cause significant errors in parameter identification. Therefore, among several candidates of parameter identification method, results of the applied IVM were compared with noise-contaminated least square method. This study shows that the noise-contaminated least square method can have indonsistent accuracy depending on the degree of noise level, while the IVM has robuster performance to signal to noise ratio than least square method.

  • The frequency response function(FRF) of each substructure is used for the transfer function synthesis method(TFS). The dynamic characteristics of the full system are obtained by synthesizing FRFs of each substructure. The validation of TFS depends on accuracy for FRF of each substructure. Impact hammer testing is widely used to obtain the modal characteristics of structures. However, the FRF obtained from impact hammer testing contains several errors, such as finite record length error and leakage error of which characteristic depends on data acquisition time which we call record length. In this paper, a method to remove these errors is proposed so as to enhance results of TFS. Numerical examples show that the FRF of full structure can be predicted exactly by the method proposed in this paper.

  • This paper addresses an analytical approach to the mechanical error analysis of gear train and tolerance design and manufacture of gear train in restricted space considering motor driving torque, driving system inertia, motor acceleration, motor rotor inertia and friction torque. The gear train is designed to have optimum gear ratio in restricted space and each gear is manufactured to have the lowest weight and each gear tooth is heat-treated to have robustness. Based on the small difference between the mechanical error analysis and measurement, gear train design with optimum gear ratio and restricted space and robustness is proposed

  • Simple models for analyzing noise factors have been derived for four fundamental types of feedback amplifiers. These models have been obtained by changing equivalent noise sources of feedback networks into equivalent input noise sources of basic amplifiers. They are used to analyse noise factors for these amplifiers. Noise tractors measured for the four types of feedback amplifiers agree with theoretical results.

  • Land Surface Temperature (LST) has been operationally retrieved from the Communication, Ocean, and Meteorological Satellite (COMS) data by the spilt-window method (CSW_v2.0) developed by Cho et al. (2015). Although the CSW_v2.0 retrieved the LST with a reasonable quality compared to the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) LST data, it showed a relatively poor performance for the strong inversion and lapse rate conditions. To solve this problem, the LST retrieval algorithm (CSW_v2.0) was updated using the simulation results of radiative transfer model (MODTRAN 4.0) by considering the diurnal variations of air temperature. In general, the upgraded version, CSW_v3.0 showed a similar correlation coefficient between the prescribed LSTs and retrieved LSTs (0.99), the relatively smaller bias (from -0.03 K to-0.012 K) and the Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) (from 1.39 K to 1.138 K). Particularly, CSW_v3.0 improved the systematic problems of CSW_v2.0 that were encountered when temperature differences between LST and air temperature are very large and/or small (inversion layers and superadiabatic lapse rates), and when the brightness temperature differences and surface emissivity differences were large. The bias and RMSE of CSW_v2.0 were reduced by 10-30% in CSW_v3.0. The indirect validation results using the MODIS LST data showed that CSW_3.0 improved the retrieval accuracy of LST in terms of bias (from -0.629 K to -0.049 K) and RMSE (from 2.537 K to 2.502 K) compared to the CSW_v2.0.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of the employment policy for persons with disabilities on their employment rates. The subjects were 10 OECD counties of which policies are based on quotas or the prohibition of discrimination. The time-series data for the analysis were collected for 12 years from 2000 to 2011. A Panel-Corrected Standard Error(PCSE) analysis was conducted for the time-series cross-sectional data of this study. As a result, unemployment rates, proportions of persons with disabilities, and public expenditures on disability and sickness benefits(in % GDP) were statistically significant among control variables, while the coverages of discrimination prohibition and the types of delivery systems of vocational rehabilitation for persons with disabilities among the employment policy variables. The wider the coverages of discrimination prohibition are, the higher the employment rates of the disabled are. In addition, the employment rates of the disabled are higher in countries with specialized delivery systems for vocational rehabilitation than in countries with general delivery systems for vocational rehabilitation.

  • The sinuosity model has been developed to simulate to developed to simulate the floodwave in meandering channels by solving the extended Saint-Venant equation with the Preissmann scheme. The suggested model is compared with three conventional floodplain routing methods in terms of governing equations, mass conservation error and floodwave analysis. The sinuosity model produces the mass conservation error of 1.5-1.8%, however the separate channel model produces 9.1% and 27.4% for sinuosity of 1.5 and 2.0, respectively. The model has been used to simulate flow in an idealized meandering river with a floodplain. The attenuation ratio and the travel time ratio are found to increase as the floodplain roughness and width increase and as the sinuosity factor decreases. The model is expected to contribute the floodwave analysis in sinuous channel with compound corss sections.

  • In this paper, a filtered-X LMS algorithm by new error path identification method is proposed for active noise control system. The proposed algorithm identifies accurately the error path transfer function using three microphones and the control of error signal through double loop scheme with on-line. In the computer simulation using the sinusoidal and the practical duct noise, the proposed algorithm reduces noise level about 29.1dB and 10.4dB, respectively. We can observe the improvement of about 0.5dB and 2.5dB in noise level compared with that obtained using the filtered-X LMS algorithm of Eriksson model.
