Job Satisfaction and Organizational Commitment of Hospital Administrative Staffs according to Their Majors (병원행정직 종사자중 전공분야별 직무만족과 조직몰입)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the level of job satisfaction and organizational commitment of administrative staffs in hospitals. The data for this study were collected through a self-administered survey with a structured questionnaire for 338 persons from administrative staffs working in hospitals in Ulsan and Busan Metropolitan cities. The job satisfaction(factors such as wage, performance, duty, promotion and personal relations) and organizational commitment were scored from 5(very satisfied) to 1(very unsatisfied). The collected data from the survey were analyzed by frequency, ANOVA, correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis. The results are as follows: Medical technicians, health administrators, nurses and the others were ranked in order in the job satisfaction. Medical technicians, nurses, health administrators, and the others were ranked in order in the organizational commitment. The correlation analysis showed that the job satisfaction and the organizational commitment had positive correlation in the factors of wage, performance duty, promotion and personal relations.

The Relationship between Academic Stress and Major Satisfaction of University Students: Factors Affecting Self-Effectiveness and Social Support (대학생의 학업스트레스와 전공만족도의 관계 : 자기효능감과 사회적 지지의 영향요인)

  • This study also examined the influence of academic stress on major satisfaction of college students and the influence of self-efficacy and social support. The subjects of this study were 320 students attending K university in B city. The 295 questionnaires were collected and 291 questionnaires were finally analyzed except for 4 questionnaires that were insufficient. Major satisfaction had a statistically significant negative correlation with academic stress, and major satisfaction had a statistically significant positive correlation with self-efficacy. Also, major satisfaction had a statistically significant positive correlation with social support. Finally, as a result of examining the effects of each factor, academic stress, self-efficacy, and social support had a significant effect on major satisfaction except for informational support in social support. In order to increase the satisfaction of college students, it is necessary to study the factors that can lower academic stress and develop the program accordingly. It is necessary to develop educational methods and programs that can increase self-efficacy and social support. This is considered to have a positive effect on the satisfaction of college students.

The Influence of Social-Face Sensitivity on Major-Choice and Job-Searching efficacy : A Case Study of Major for University students in Tourism (체면민감성이 대학생의 전공선택과 구직효능감에 미치는 영향 : 관광전공 대학생을 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of face sensitivity on the major selection and job efficacy of tourism related majors. Therefore, we analyzed the questionnaires of 315 students who majored in tourism at a two - year university in Seoul through multiple regression analysis. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the eating factor of the A sense of shame substance, which is an independent variable, did not affect the selection factor of the dependent variable. In the study in which the major selection was made as the independent variable, And did not affect efficacy which was significantly correlated with job satisfaction and self-efficacy. Therefore, it is expected that positive attitude and guidance to the tourism industry will have a positive effect on career planning and career maturity level after graduation.

An Effect Analysis of Impact of the Major Satisfaction Level And Job Experience Had Been Done During Undergraduate on the First Job in Beauty Major Undergraduate Students (뷰티계열 대학생의 재학 중 일 경험과 전공 만족도가 전공 일치 첫 일자리에 미치는 영향)

  • This study analyzes the impacts of undergraduate-work-experiences for beauty-major's graduates. 168 samples were selected from Graduates Occupational Mobility Survey data 2012 ~ 2017. As a result of a Multiple logistic regression analysis, a job experience, job period, and number of experienced job type mattered. In case of having non-major job experience while studying, the opportunities of finding a job of one who has no experience was higher than that of one had over a year work experience. While in case of having major job experience in the field of studying, one who has experience over 6 months and less than a year had higher chance in finding a job than that of one who had over a year work experience. I hope this promotes reviewing a systematic educational policy and helps to get a fundamental information on job-seeking behavior of beauty major graduate.

A Comparison between Korean and American College Students' Evolution Concepts based on the History of Evolutionary Ideas (진화개념의 역사에 근거한 한국과 미국 대학생의 진화개념 수준 비교)

  • This study was conducted to identify whether there is a significant difference in the developmental stages of the evolution concept depending on the major and the country. For this study, college students (both biology major and non-biology major) in Korea and the United States answered evolution concept assessment developed by Ha (2007). The data were analyzed based on the method of developed by Ha (2016). As a result of this study, Cronbach alpha for internal consistency reliability and MNSQ indices for item response fitness of the ordered multiple choice method providing 0 to 4 point scores to creationism, teleology, intentionality, use/disuse, and natural selection respectively, satisfied the benchmark. The level of Korean college students' evolution concepts was located in use/disuse and the level of USA college students' evolution concepts was located in teleology. No interaction effect was found between the difference of conceptual progressions of evolution concept by major and country and evolution contexts (human, animal, and plant). There was a significant relationship between developmental stages of evolution concept and their religiosity. Based on the results of this study, we discuss developmental characteristics of evolutionary concepts.

A study on Career decision-making patterns based on Sense of Values of undergraduate students majoring in Cosmetology (미용전공대학생의 가치관에 따른 진로의사결정유형에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to offer data for developing a guide that can help cosmetology majors with career decision-making and career guidance by identifying their values and career paths and analyzing the correlation between the two. This study was conducted on 474 college students with cosmetology-related majors nationwide. First, their values had an effect on their career decision-making. Second, there were differences in their values and career decision-making depending on their concentrations. According to the research, the values of cosmetology majors were divided by type and their correlation with career decision-making was analyzed. The results will be helpful for cosmetology students to explore and decide upon their careers if professors comprehend students' individual tendencies, explain the characteristics of cosmetology-related jobs, and provide them the chances to have practical work experience in the field, based on the findings of this study.
