  • This study aims to select an optimal site for the development of small-scaled artificial ground water recharge system with the purpose of 50ton/day pumping in dry season. First of all, the topography shape satisfying the numerous factors of a hydraulic model experiment is defined and an appropriate pumping efficiency is calculated through the model experiment of injection and pumping scenario. In next step, GIS(Geographic Information System) database are constructed by processing several geospatial data to explore the optimal site. In detail, watershed images are generated from DEM(Digital Elevation Model) with 5m cell size, which is set for the minimum area of the optimal site selection. Slope maps are made from DEM to determine the optimal hydraulic gradient to procure the proper aquifer undercurrent period. Finally, the suitable site for artificial recharge system is selected using an integration of overall data, such as an alluvial map, DEM, orthoimages, slope map, and watershed images.

  • The purpose of this paper is to elucidate the formative processes of depositional landforms in Jiwoo drainage basin which located in the most upstream reach of Namgang River. Through the analysis of morphologic characteristics and sedimentary facies, the formative processes can be summarized as follow: First, the high depositional landforms(Sapyeong, Eungam, Naedongdyttle site) were formed by gelifluction process in the periglacial environment during the last glacial period. And the relative height over river bed of them is getting lower from upper to downstream. The extent of the high depositional landforms is assumed about 1 kilometer downstream far from the confluence of Jiwoo stream and Namgang River. Second, the sediments in the gentle slope at Jangseungbuldle were carried by gelifluction process during the last glacial stage after the deep-weathered bedrock had formed a gentle slope. Third, the high depositional landforms were dissected during warm and humid environment of postglacial stage, and some sediments of them were left in the river bed. Later, as the more upstream high depositional landforms were dissected completely, stream power was getting more than resistance(sediment storage) and the low depositional landforms(Sapyeong, Yongchusa, Deungbangdle site) were formed.

  • This study was conducted to find the suitability site for the construction of Saemangeum horticulture complex taking into account cost-effective environmental management by analyzing and comparing meteorological conditions. By overlapping the thematic maps, we extracted the regions that scored 50-59 points as suitable sites for the development project. Of these pre-selected sites, we selected the final candidate region for the protected horticulture by overlapping the sites selected for agricultural and living environment construction. The results of this study will contribute to generating added values by minimizing the environmental management costs for horticulture and landscaping. The operation of a large-scale protected horticulture and landscaping in the Saemangeum Complex will enhance the agricultural competitiveness of our country in the global market.

  • Riverbank filtration for water supply has been employed for about 150 years in developed countries. In Korea, the feasibility of riverbank filtration has been investigated since 1990's for large river basins, to find a solution to stably meet the ever-increasing demand for water. Recently, some cites in the Nak-dong River Basin have been supplying the water through riverbank filtration. This research studies the feasibility of riverbank filtration in Seoul. Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), which selects the most optimal alternative by hierarchically classifying various attributes and then quantifying the importance of each attribute, was applied to candidate locations for the selection of riverbank filtration site. The Kwangnaru district, which has advantages in water quality and close connectivity to the existing water purification facility, was selected as the most optimal site.

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the factors related to high school students 'academic stress. This study uses data from KEDI's(KELS 2013 6th). The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation analysis, and hierarchical analysis using the SPSS Statistics program. The results of the study are as follows. First, personal factors, social support factors, and family-related factors showed statistically significant correlation with academic stress. Second, personal factors, family-related factors, and social support factors were all found to have statistically significant effects on high school students' academic stress. After controlling the personal factors and family-related factors, the social support factors further explain the academic stress of high school students by two percent, and the most influential variable among social support factors was the relationship with their parents.

  • This research demonstrates the application of GIS to the selection of the waste landfill site through the case study of a urban area. The estimation factors for the suitability analysis of the waste landfill site were determined. The database was built through collection, input, and transformation of data. The recent land cover classification data and NDVI data which were obtained through processing of satellite imagery were incorporated into GIS data as estimation factors. The relative weights of importance among 2nd category estimation factors were determined by the pairwise comparison method. Also relative weights of 1st category estimation factors which are divided into the social-economical factor and the natural environmental factor were combined with those of 2nd category estimation factors. As the results of this case study, the suitability analysis was conducted in accordance with various estimation criteria. The highest suitability index was obtained in the case where we considered the relative weights of 2nd category estimation factors as different in the viewpoint which regards the social economical factor as important.

  • The methodology introduces the establishment of a regional ginseng information system, which combines a ginseng database and GIS functionalities. The use of a database and GIS in the execution of ginseng studies may be expressed as shown in Kumsan-Gun. The process from defining a high-quality ginseng problem to providing advice and suggestions for solution of the problem is carried out through five steps: a) data collection and retrieval of data from a database; b) processing of data and preparing model input using a GIS; c) running a high quality-ginseng model; d) interpretation of model output using GIS; e) visualization and translation of study results for discussion with involved parties and advice to principals. In ginseng management it is necessary to deal efficiently and adequately with occurring ginseng situation and problems. This requires the availability of a ginseng information system based on a GIS in Kumsan-Gun, which provides up-to-date information which is quickly accessible and easy to process.

  • Complete consideration on condition and surrounding environment shall be performed to select proper location for complex planning or establishment of facility with special purpose. Especially, in case of living space for human, lighting, ventilation, efficiency in land use, etc. are important elements. Diverse 3D analysis through 3D topography modeling and virtual simulation is necessary for this. Now, it can be processed with relatively inexpensive cost since high resolution satellite image essential in topography modeling is provided with domestic technology through Arirang No. 2 satellite (KOMPSAT2). In this study, several candidate sites is selected for complex planning with special purpose and analysis on proper location was performed using the 3D topography modeling and land information. For this, land analysis, land price calculation, slope analysis and aspect analysis have been carried out. As a result of arranging the evaluation index for each candidate site and attempting the quantitative evaluation, proper location could be selected efficiently and reasonably.

  • As a result of the study, it was found that social support affects career maturity. It was confirmed that in order to increase the career maturity of junior college students, it is necessary to understand the interpersonal relationship including information and evaluation of the student environment, effective support, and emotional interest, and it is necessary to find a way to perceive high social support. In the effect of social support on career maturity, career decision self-efficacy was found to have a partial mediating effect. Instructors should support students who have anxiety about their uncertain future so that they can increase their self-esteem and self-efficacy so that they can enhance their career maturity.

  • The characteristics of forest environmental factors were analyzed using the quantification theory (I) for prediction of the suitable area of erosion control dams. The results indicated that sediment discharge in small forest catchments was significantly correlated with dredging passage (0.7495) and age class (0.6000). In contrast, area (0.3416), slope gradient (0.3207), rainfall (0.3160), altitude (0.2990) and soil type (0.2192) were poorly correlated. Following quantification theory (I), we developed a selection decision table for erosion control dams based on sediment discharge rate as class I (highly suitable site, greater than 2.2496), class II (suitable site, 1.1248~2.2495), and class III (poorly suited site, lower than 1.1247).
