Characterization of a Korean Traditional Porcine Breed Using Microsatellite Markers and the Establishment of an Individual Identification System (Microsatellite Marker를 이용한 한국재래돼지 집단의 품종특성 및 원산지 추적을 위한 개체식별체계 설정)

  • This study was conducted to analyze the genetic characteristics of Korean Native Pigs(KNP), and to establish an individual identification system comprising many microsatellite markers located on different pig autosomes. Genotype data from 13 microsatellites typed in 446 animals was used to determine the validation of a method of individual identification in 4 KNP. A total of 112 alleles of the 13 microsatellites were detected and average heterozygosities(polymorphic information content) ranged from 0.286(0.423) to 0.686(0.796) in this study. Comparing the pattern of allele frequency among the KNP, Yorkshire, Landrace and Duroc breeds, there was specific differentiation between populations at multi-allelic loci. The cumulative power of discrimination(CPD) was 99.999% by including 10 microsatellite loci for the individual identification system. The probability that two different individuals incidentally have same genotype was estimated to be $0.36{\times}10^{-9}$. The system employing these 10 markers therefore proved to be applicable to the individual identification of KNP.

Analysis of User Satisfaction by Types of Subway Platforms and Transit Stations (지하철 승강장 및 환승정거장 유형에 따른 이용자 만족도 분석)

  • The layout of facilities, in relation to information and navigational displays, has great influence on subway satisfaction, and tend to vary depending on the types of subway platform and transit station. However, until now, few studies have covered such aspects as of yet. Starting from this viewpoint, the purpose of this study was to use an IPA analysis technique to analyze that satisfaction on the importance of facilities to aid in accessibility, such as elevators and escalators, transit amenities and information and navigational displays depending on the types of platform and transit station. To do so, we've classified 15 metropolitan stations according to types of platform and transit station and analyzed differences in user importance and satisfaction as well as improvements for platforms and transit stations of similar type. By the analysis results of this study, we've concluded that the proper selection and positioning of elevator and escalator facilities and information and navigational displays was important when designing the subway station according to platform type (separate platform) and or according to the transit station type (cross, L, T types) where pedestrian flow heavily intersected. We considered that such analysis results would be helpful in the design of new stations and the enhancement of existing stations pursuant to a new direction that minimizes user inconvenience, and that improvement items should be developed first according to the platform and transit station types, which would be helpful in enhancing the efficiency of the subway improvement cost.

Selecting probability distribution of event mean concentrations from paddy fields (논으로부터 배출되는 유량가중평균 수질농도의 적정 확률분포 선정)

  • In this study, we analyzed probability distribution of EMCs (Event Mean Concentration) of COD, TOC, T-N, T-P and SS from rice paddy fields and compared the mean values of observed EMCs and the median values of estimated EMCs ($EMC_{50}$) through probability distribution. The field monitoring was conducted during a period of four crop-years (from May 1, 2008, to September 30. 2011) in a rice cultivation area located in Emda-myun, Hampyeong gun, Jeollanam-do, Korea. Four probability distributions such as Normal, Log-normal, Gamma, and Weibull distribution were used to fit values of EMCs from rice paddy fields. Our results showed that the applicable probability distributions were Normal, Log-normal, and Gamma distribution for COD, and Normal, Log- Normal, Gamma and Weibull distribution for T-N, and Log-normal, Gamma and Weibull distribution for T-P and TOC, and Log-normal and Gamma distribution for SS. Log-normal and Gamma distributions were acceptable for EMCs of all water quality constituents(COD, TOC, T-N, T-P and SS). Meanwhile, mean value of observed COD was similar to median value estimated by the gamma distribution, and TOC, T-N, T-P, and SS were similar to median value estimated by log-normal distribution, respectively.

  • 최근 급속한 도시의 팽창과 산업의 발전으로 인하여 가스시설은 급속히 확대되고 있는 실정이다. 이러한 가스시설물의 중요성을 인식하고 많은 도시가스업체에서는 가스관망 시설정보를 전산화하여 항상 최신의 현황을 유지할 수 있는 가스시설물관리시스템을 개발하여 사용하고 있다. 그러나 이러한 시스템은 가스시설물의 현황파악 및 유지관리를 위한 기본적인 기능만을 제공하는 관계로, 가스 누출사고 발생시 정확한 사태의 파악과 함께 신속한 대책 마련을 위한 의사결정 지원이 어려운 실정이다. 따라서 체계적인 가스사고관리를 수행할 수 있는 응용시스템의 필요성이 증대되고 있다. 이러한 시점에서 본 연구에서는 가스사고분석을 신속하고 체계적으로 수행할 수 있는 가스사고관리 적용알고리즘 분석 및 최적의 알고리즘을 정립하여 가스사고관리시스템을 구현하였다. 본 연구를 통한 결과는 1ㆍ2차 차단밸브의 산정이 가능해짐으로써 빈번한 가스 누출사고 발생시 실시간으로 적정대처방안의 제시가 가능하게 되었다. 또한, 누출 최대가스량을 제시함으로써 누출에 대한 피해예상 분석을 위한 정보 제공 및 가스의 신속한 재공급을 위해 필요한 의사결정 지원 정보의 제공이 가능하게 되었다. 아울러, 가스누출사고에 의한 가스공급중단 관로 및 수용가에 대한 속성현황의 파악은 물론 시각적인 도식을 통한 전체적 현황파악이 가능하였다. 이러한 가스사고관리시스템의 개발을 통하여 사고 발생시 신속한 사고방안 제시 및 사고피해의 최소화를 위해 필요한 의사결정 지원 정보의 제공이 가능하게 됨으로써 국민의 안전 및 복지와 도시가스업체의 업무 효율화로 인한 예산절감 효과를 기대할 수 있다. 가시권 분석기능을 이용하여 실제 지형공간상에서 전파경로 손실치를 도시화함으로써 전파관리자가 무선서비스지역 설계, 전파음영지역 판단, 최적 중계기와 기지국 위치 선정에 기여할 것으로 판단된다.하지 않은 지역과 서로 다른 분광특성을 나타내므로 별도의 Segment를 형성하게 된다. 따라서 임상도의 경계선으로부터 획득된 Super-Object의 분광반사 값과 그 안에서 형성된 Sub-Object의 분광반사값의 차이를 이용하여 임상도의 갱신을 위한 변화지역을 탐지하였다.라서 획득한 시추코아에 대해서도 각 연구기관이 전 구간에 대해 동일하게 25%의 소유권을 가지고 있다. ?스굴 시추사업은 2008년까지 수행될 계획이며, 시추작업은 2005년까지 완료될 계획이다. 연구 진행과 관련하여, 공동연구의 명분을 높이고 분석의 효율성을 높이기 위해서 시료채취 및 기초자료 획득은 4개국의 연구원이 모여 공동으로 수행한 후의 결과물을 서로 공유하고, 자세한 전문분야 연구는 각 국의 대표기관이 독립적으로 수행하는 방식을 택하였다 ?스굴에 대한 제1차 시추작업은 2004년 3월 말에 실시하였다. 시추작업 결과, 약 80m의 시추 코아가 성공적으로 회수되어 현재 러시아 이르쿠츠크 지구화학연구소에 보관중이다. 이 시추코아는 2004년 8월 중순경에 4개국 연구팀원들에 의해 공동으로 기재된 후에 분할될 계획이다. 분할된 시료는 국내로 운반되어 다양한 전문분야별 연구에 이용될 것이다. 한편, 제2차 시추작업은 2004년 12월에서 2005년 2월 사이에 실시될 계획이다. 수백만년에 이르는 장기간에 걸쳐 지구환경변화 기록이 보존되어 있는 ?스굴호에 대한

GAP Estimation on Arterial Road via Vehicle Labeling of Drone Image (드론 영상의 차량 레이블링을 통한 간선도로 차간간격(GAP) 산정)

  • The purpose of this study is to detect and label the vehicles using the drone images as a way to overcome the limitation of the existing point and section detection system and vehicle gap estimation on Arterial road. In order to select the appropriate time zone, position, and altitude for the acquisition of the drone image data, the final image data was acquired by shooting under various conditions. The vehicle was detected by applying mixed Gaussian, image binarization and morphology among various image analysis techniques, and the vehicle was labeled by applying Kalman filter. As a result of the labeling rate analysis, it was confirmed that the vehicle labeling rate is 65% by detecting 185 out of 285 vehicles. The gap was calculated by pixel unitization, and the results were verified through comparison and analysis with Daum maps. As a result, the gap error was less than 5m and the mean error was 1.67m with the preceding vehicle and 1.1m with the following vehicle. The gaps estimated in this study can be used as the density of the urban roads and the criteria for judging the service level.

Assessment of Flood Vulnerability to Climate Change Using Fuzzy Model and GIS in Seoul (퍼지모형과 GIS를 활용한 기후변화 홍수취약성 평가 - 서울시 사례를 중심으로 -)

  • The goal of this study is to apply the IPCC(Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) concept of vulnerability to climate change and verify the use of a combination of vulnerability index and fuzzy logic to flood vulnerability analysis and mapping in Seoul using GIS. In order to achieve this goal, this study identified indicators influencing floods based on literature review. We include indicators of exposure to climate(daily max rainfall, days of 80mm over), sensitivity(slope, geological, average DEM, impermeability layer, topography and drainage), and adaptive capacity(retarding basin and green-infra). Also, this research used fuzzy model for aggregating indicators, and utilized frequency ratio to decide fuzzy membership values. Results show that the number of days of precipitation above 80mm, the distance from river and impervious surface have comparatively strong influence on flood damage. Furthermore, when precipitation is over 269mm, areas with scare flood mitigation capacities, industrial land use, elevation of 16~20m, within 50m distance from rivers are quite vulnerable to floods. Yeongdeungpo-gu, Yongsan-gu, Mapo-gu include comparatively large vulnerable areas. This study improved previous flood vulnerability assessment methodology by adopting fuzzy model. Also, vulnerability map provides meaningful information for decision makers regarding priority areas for implementing flood mitigation policies.

Establishment of Genetic Characteristics and Individual Identification System Using Microsatellite Loci in Jeju Native Horse (초위성체 DNA를 이용한 제주마 집단의 품종특성 및 개체식별 체계설정)

  • This study was conducted to establish the individual identification system and to estimate the genetic characteristic of Jeju native horse (JNH) using 13 microsatellite markers located on different horse autosomes. The markers were genotyped on 191 animals from five horse breeds including Jeju native horse (JNH). In total, 138 alleles were detected from the genotypes of 13 microsatellite markers. The average heterozygosities ranged from 0.317 to 0.902 and the polymorphic information content (PIC) ranged from 0.498 to 0.799 in JNH. We found that there were significant differences in allele frequencies in JNH when compared with other horse breeds. In ATH4 marker, there were specific allele frequence pattern that some of allele only found in JNH, Mongolian horse (MONG) and Jeju racing horse (JRH). The calculated cumulative power of discrimination (CPD) was 99.9% when nine microsatellite loci were used for analysis in the individual identification system. Also, the matching probability that two unrelated animals would show the same genotypes, was estimated to be $0.60{\times}10^{-10}$. Therefore, in the nine markers used in this study can be used for individual identification in the Jeju native horse population.

Application of Proxy-basin Differential Split-Sampling and Blind-Validation Tests for Evaluating Hydrological Impact of Climate Change Using SWAT (SWAT을 이용한 기후변화의 수문학적 영향평가를 위한 Proxy-basin Differential Split-Sampling 및 Blind-Validation 테스트 적용)

  • As hydrological models have been progressively developed, they are recognized as appropriate tools to manage water resources. Especially, the need to evaluate the effects of landuse and climate change on hydrological phenomena has been increased, which requires powerful validation methods for the hydrological models to be employed. As measured streamflow data at many locations may not be available, or include significant errors in application of hydrological models, streamflow data simulated by models only might be used to conduct hydrological analysis. In many cases, reducing errors in model simulations requires a powerful model validation method. In this research, we demonstrated a validation methodology of SWAT model using observed flow in two basins with different physical characteristics. First, we selected two basins, Gap-cheon basin and Yongdam basin located in the Guem River Basin, showing different hydrological characteristics. Next, the methodology developed to estimate parameter values for the Gap-cheon basin was applied for estimating those for the Yongdam basin without calibration a priori, and sought for validation of the SWAT. Application result with SWAT for Yongdam basin showed $R_{eff}$ ranging from 0.49 to 0.85, and $R^{2}$ from 0.49 to 0.84. As well, comparison of predicted flow and measured flow in each subbasin showed reasonable agreement. Furthermore, the model reproduced the whole trends of measured total flow and low flow, though peak flows were rather underestimated. The results of this study suggest that SWAT can be applied for predicting effects of future climate and landuse changes on flow variability in river basins. However, additional studies are recommended to further verify the validity of the mixed method in other river basins.

A Comparative Study on Methods for Outlier Test of Rainfall in Korea (국내 강우의 이상치검정 방법의 비교 연구)

  • 이상치는 표본자료에서 크게 어긋나 다른 자료들로부터 떨어져 표시되는 자료로써, 실제로 발생할 확률이 매우 낮은 자료로 정의되고 있다. 설계홍수량을 산정하기 위하여 적용하고 있는 극치계열의 연최대치 강우자료에는 기계오작동 및 엔지니어의 표독오류가 발생하고 있으며, 기후변화에 따른 거대태풍 및 국지적인 집중호우 발생 등으로 인한 극치값 등에서 이상치가 관측되고 있다. 통상 이상치들은 통계분석시 자료 본연의 특성을 왜곡시켜 편향된 결과를 산정할 수 있으므로 빈도해석시 이상치해석 절차를 수행하여 자료의 적정성을 확인하여야 한다. 현재 실무에서는 설계홍수량 산정요령과 하천설계기준 해설 등에서 관련 내용을 기술하고 있지만, 국내 강우자료의 기록연수의 부족으로 인하여 빈도해석시 이상치 해석이 미수행되고 있어 이상치에 따른 자료편의가 발생하면 결과물인 확률강우량이 왜곡되게 산정될 수 있다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 국내 주요 도시의 강우자료를 이용하여 이상치검정을 수행하였다. 대상지점으로는 서울, 부산, 대전, 대구, 인천, 광주, 울산 등의 비교적 긴 관측년수를 보유하고 있는 광역시를 선정하였으며, 지속기간은 10분, 1~24시간의 25개 강우자료를 적용하였다. 이상치검정 방법으로는 타 방법에 비하여 이상치 검정력이 뛰어난 것으로 알려진 2가지 방법을 채택하였으며, 표본자료의 평균과 표준편차로 표준화된 z값을 이용하여 상 하 한계선를 초과하는 값을 확인하는 z-Score 방법중 향상된 중위수 절대편차(MAD)에 의한 수정 z-Score 방법(Hoaglin, 1993)과 Box-Plot 방법(Tukey, 1969)을 적용하였다. Box-Plot 방법(Tukey, 1969)은 전체 자료를 25%씩 사분위로 구분하는 방법으로 정렬된 자료계열을 중앙값, 박스, 수염(whiskers), 이상치로 구분한다. 정렬된 25~75% 값들을 박스로 포함하여 외곽의 수염값들을 이상치로 분류하며, 특히 사분위수의 도식화로 데이터의 분포를 파악하기 좋으며, 이상치들의 위치와 자료의 비대칭 여부를 쉽게 파악할 수 있다. 본 연구의 수행으로 수정 z-Score 방법의 경우에는 서울과 대구지점에는 이상치가 없으며, 부산지점에는 13개, 대전지점 7개, 인천지점 5개, 광주지점 32개, 울산지점 26개가 나타났다. Box-Plot 방법으로는 서울지점 35개, 부산지점 39개, 대전지점 32개, 대구지점 38개, 인천지점 51개, 광주지점 61개, 울산지점 65개의 이상치가 분석되었다. 연구를 수행한 결과, 수정 z-Score 방법에 비하여 Box-Plot 방법에 의한 이상치가 더 많이 발생하였으며, 각각의 방법으로 지속기간 및 연도별 이상치 발생자료를 확인하였다. 방법별 이상치 발생현황 등을 분석하여 지점별 발생횟수를 분석하였으며, 추후 지점 및 자료의 보완이 수행되면 활용성을 증대시킬 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

Study on EPB TBM performance by conducting lab-scaled excavation tests with different foam injection for artificial sand (실내 굴진 시험을 통한 폼 주입 조건에 따른 인공 사질토 지반에서 EPB TBM 굴진성능에 대한 고찰)

  • During EPB TBM tunnelling, an appropriate application of additives such as foam and polymer is an essential factor to secure the stability of TBM as well as tunnelling performance. From the '90s, there have been many studies on the optimal injection of additives worldwidely contrary to the domestic situation. Therefore, in this paper, the foam, which is widely adopted for soil conditioning, was selected as an additive in order to investigate the effect of foam injection on TBM performance through a series of laboratory excavation tests. The excavation experiments were carried out on artificial sandy soil specimens with consideration of the variance of FIR (Foam Injection Ratio), FER (Foam Expansion Ratio) and $C_f$ (Surfactant Concentration), which indicate the amount and quality of the foam. During the tests, torque values were measured, and the workability of conditioned soil was evaluated by comparing the slump values of muck after each experiment. In addition, a weight loss of the replaceable aluminum cutter bits installed on the blade was measured to estimate the degree of abrasion. Finally, the foam injection ratio for the optimal TBM excavation for the typical soil specimen was determined by comparing the measured torque, slump value and abrasion. Note that the foam injection conditions satisfying the appropriate level of machine load, mechanical wear and workability are essential in the EPB TBM operational design.
