  • In this paper, a simple optical method that uses an infrared(IR) cut filter is proposed to minimize variation of eye image by external infrared(IR) sources in a video based head mounted eye tracking system that is used in the field of sports. For this, the IR cut filter is attached to a head mount of the eye tracking system, and the camera with an IR LED is located between the IR cut filter and eye. In this structure, external IR is blocked by the IR cut filter, and the IR intensity on the eye can be controlled by the IR LED. Therefore, the illumination condition of the camera to capture the eye can be stable without being affected by external IR illuminations. To verify the proposed idea, variation of the eye image and intensity of the IR with/without the IR cut filter is measured under various illumination conditions. The measured data show that the IR cut filter method can block external IR effectively, and complex pupil detection algorithms can be replaced by a simple binarized method.

  • This paper describes a new sensor system for 3D range measurement using the structured infrared light. Environment and obstacle sensing is the key issue for mobile robot localization and navigation. Laser scanners and infrared scanners cover $180^{\circ}$ and are accurate but too expensive. Those sensors use rotating light beams so that the range measurements are constrained on a plane. 3D measurements are much more useful in many ways for obstacle detection, map building and localization. Stereo vision is very common way of getting the depth information of 3D environment. However, it requires that the correspondence should be clearly identified and it also heavily depends on the light condition of the environment. Instead of using stereo camera, monocular camera and the projected infrared light are used in order to reduce the effects of the ambient light while getting 3D depth map. Modeling of the projected light pattern enabled precise estimation of the range. Identification of the cells from the pattern is the key issue in the proposed method. Several methods of correctly identifying the cells are discussed and verified with experiments.

  • In this paper, the movement faces the problem of the difficult points upon the gaze of the user that corrective action is needed to solve the identification system offers a new perspective. Using the Kalman filter using the position information of the current head position estimated the future. In order to determine the authenticity of the face features of the face structural element information and the processing time is relatively fast horizontal and vertical histogram analysis method to detect the elements of the face. and people grow and infrared bright pupil effect obtained by constructing a real-time pupil detection, tracking and pupil - geulrinteu vectors are extracted.

  • In this paper, we introduce a probabilistic model based on Bayesian networks BNs) for recognizing human fatigue. First of all, we measured face feature information such as eyelid movement, gaze, head movement, and facial expression by IR illumination. But, an individual face feature information does not provide enough information to determine human fatigue. Therefore in this paper, a Bayesian network model was constructed to fuse as many as possible fatigue cause parameters and face feature information for probabilistic inferring human fatigue. The MSBNX simulation result ending a 0.95 BN fatigue index threshold. As a result of the experiment, when comparisons are inferred BN fatigue index and the TOVA response time, there is a mutual correlation and from this information we can conclude that this method is very effective at recognizing a human fatigue.

  • This paper presents a position error recognition system when the wafer is mounted in cleaning equipment among the wafer manufacturing processes. The proposed system is to enhance the performance in cost and reliability by preventing the wafer cleaning system from damaging by alerting it when it is put in correct position. The key algorithms are the calibration method between image acquired from camera and physical wafer, a infrared lighting and the design of the filter, and the extraction of wafer boundary and the position error recognition resulting from generation of circle based on least square method. The system is to install in-line process using high reliable and high accurate position recognition. The experimental results show that the performance is good in detecting errors within tolerance.

  • Objectives : Yogaktong is the general term of lowback and sciatic pain. Simplely this is not for the syndrom or illiness but for the symptoms. In the field of western medicine, it's difficult to find out the cause and to be objective when the patient feel back and sciatic pain without HNP of L-spine. Methods : To get objective yogaktomg symptoms I did this study. This is the case study of 103 patients who felt yogaktomg, and had taken DITII(Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging) at department of acupuncture and moxibustion in Conmaul Oriental medical hospital from september 1, 1998 to august 30, 1999. Results : The temperature raised 53.4% at center of lowback. There is a temperature differance on both legs, in 70.73% of patients the pain side of leg is lower temperature than the other side. Conclusions : Generally, DITI of patients who have lowback and sciatic pain is shown increasing temperature in center of lowback, decreasing temperature in pain side of leg.

Instead of using stereo camera, monocular camera and two projected infrared light sources are used in order to reduce the effects of the ambient light while getting 3D depth map. Modeling of the projected light pattern enabled precise estimation of the range. Two successive captures of the image with left and right infrared light projection provide several benefits, which include wider area of depth measurement, higher spatial resolution and the visibility perception.
