  • 본 작품은 학생들의 캡스톤디자인 작품이다. 2019년 코로나 시대가 도래한 후, 사회 전반적으로 많은 변화가 일고 있는데, 특히 5인 이상 집합 금지 및 식당 영업시간 제한 조치 등으로 인하여 외식을 선호했던 가족이나 개인이 집콕하는 시간이 늘면서 홈쿡과 홈베이킹이 대세를 이루게 된 것이다. 본 아이디어는 스마트 기술이 가전에 적용되면서 요리에서도 스마트 기술이 필요하다는 생각에서 출발하였다. 기존의 레시피는 다양한 책과 동영상(유투브) 등으로 소개되기 때문에 요리 방법을 보면서 시간과 소스의 양을 정확히 지키기 어려웠다. 하지만 본 작품에서 소개된 스마트쿡은 자체에 타이머와 저울 기능을 부여함으로써, 요리에 필요한 타이머 기능과 미세 조절 가능한 레시피 소스를 과학적으로 요리할 수 있도록 설계되었다. 이러한 부가 기능을 가진 스마트쿡이 실제로 적용된다면 요리의 시간이 한층 더 재미있고 과학적이 될 것으로 판단된다.

  • We developed a computer controlled Czochralski puller which automated entire crystal growing processes. Crystal weighing technique was employed for an automatic diameter control. The performance of the system was evaluated by the growth of $LiNbO_3$ single crystals.

  • The radioactive wastes generated from the nuclear industry can be divided into the forms of solid, liquid, or gas. Radioactive methyl iodide, a gaseous radioactive waste, is absorbed by activated carbon with 5 wt% of Trietylenediamine (1,4-diazania-bicycle[2.2.2]octane, TEDA) impregnated on the surface. Methyl Iodide ($CH_3I$) is combined chemically with TEDA (the final product : I-TEDA). To recycle radioactive activated carbon, removal of I-TEDA from activated carbon is needed. A wet method for recycling impregnated active carbon was developed to remove radioactive I-TEDA using an acetonitrile solution, which produces lots of secondary wastes. We suggest the removal of I-TEDA by supercritical carbon dioxide with co-solvents. In this experiment, we used a quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) for measuring the removal rate of the I-TEDA. From the experimental results, methanol was found to be the optimum co-solvent, and the optimum conditions such as temperature, pressure, and co-solvent flow rate were obtained. Possibility of using supercritical fluid in the removal of I-TEDA from radioactive activated carbon was also discussed.

  • An ultrasonic power measurement system in milliwatt range was constructed. The ultrasonic power can be determined by measuring the radiation pressure on a target using self-compensating microbalance. Measurement was performed using a perfect reflector and a perfect absorber. In order to check the feasibility of the system, the ultrasonic power for the two targets was measured. Also, the systematic measurement errors and the reproducibility were examined. The relative error between two targets is proved to be within 2%. Also when the ultrasonic power range is larger than 10mW, the standard deviation for repeated measurement becomes smaller than ${\pm}$2%.

  • Experimental study of liquid nitrogen pool spread is carried out when it is continuously released. The liquid nitrogen spreads over a cement mortar plate with continuous release. Evaporation rate per unit area of the liquid nitrogen is measured using a digital balance, and a spreading distance of the liquid pool is measured by thermocouples. It is discovered that the evaporation rate per unit area of liquid nitrogen tends to decrease as the liquid pool spreads.

  • The purpose this research is to develop QCM (quartz crystal microbalance) biosensor for the determination of haptoglobin. Haptoglobin is an acute-phase protein with a hemoglobin-binding activity and has a potential to be used as a biomarker for infection or cancer. Haptoglobin level in milk has been used for the diagnosis of cow mastitis. In this study, anti-bovine haptoglobin antibody or bovine hemoglobin was chemically immobilized on the surface of the QCM, and the resulting sensor chips were tested for their response to samples containing haptoglobin at different concentrations. Concentration dependent frequency change was observed with both of the sensor chips. Especially, the sensor chip containing anti-bovine haptoglobin antibody showed sufficient sensitivity in the concentrations typically observed in the cows with mastitis.

  • 본 연구는 건물 내부에서 외부로 외부에서 내부로 출입하는 출입자를 정확히 파악하기 위하여 보안이 강화된 개별인증 출입보안시스템을 구축하는데 있다. 시스템 구현을 위해서 RFID 기술, 지문인식 기술을 적용한 통합인증단말기와 무게를 측정하는 전자저울을 활용 하였다. 개별 인증이 가능한 출입 인증 보안시스템을 구현한 결과를 요약하면, 첫째, 내부에서 외부로 나오는 경우와 외부에서 내부로 들어가는 경우를 분리한 이중 출입방식으로 외부인이 내부에서 나오는 사람의 인증만으로 쉽게 건물 안으로 진입하는 보안상의 문제점을 해결 하였다. 둘째, 건물 내부 물품을 외부로 유출할 시 무게 차이 때문에 출입문이 차단되어 관리자의 허락 없이는 물품을 밖으로 유출할 수 없게 되어 도난을 방지문제를 해결 하였다. 셋째, 몸무게 정보를 이용하여 출입자들이 동시에 출입문을 통과하지 못하도록 제한하여 모든 출입자의 로그정보를 정확하게 저장할 수 있도록 하였다. 넷째, 데이터베이스에 저장된 출입로그 데이터를 출퇴근 관리프로그램에 지원하여 급여 계산 및 인사 업무에 활용할 수 있도록 하였다. 다섯째, 건물에 화재가 나거나 폭탄 테러와 같은 위험 발생 시 출입자를 정확하게 파악할 수 있게 되어 용의자 파악이 용이하도록 하였다.

  • In this paper, we investigate the characteristics of a piezoresistive AFM cantilever in the range of $0\~30{\mu}N$ by using nano force calibrator (NFC), which consists of a high precision balance with resolution of 1 nN and 1-D fine positioning stage. Brief modeling of the cantilever is presented and then, the calibration results are shown. Tests revealed a linear relationship between the probing force and sensor output (resistance change), and the force vs. deflection. From this relationship, the force constant of the cantilever was calculated to 3.45 N/m with a standard deviation of 0.01 N/m. It shows that there is a big difference between measured and nominal spring constant of 1 N/m provided by the manufacturer s specifications.

  • Adsorption isotherms of o-xylene on Spheron 6, a graphitized carbon black, are obtained at various temperatures using a quartz beam microbalance. BET plots are made to estimate the molecular area of o-xylene from these isotherms. On Spheron 6, the molecular area of o-xylene (m.p $-25^{\circ}C$) remains constant until the temperature is increased up to $-15^{\circ}C$, but increases abruptly between $-15^{\circ}C$ and $-14^{\circ}C$, and then again remains constant thereafter. These results are interpreted as implying that the adsorbed o-xylene molecules are flatly localized on Spheron 6 with compact packing below $-15^{\circ}C$ while they gain a rotational degree of freedom around the benzene ring at the higher temperature.

  • The resistance and frequency change of a quartz crystal microbalance during toluene absorption was measured for poly(vinyl acetate) (PVAc) with 268 nm thickness. Solubility of toluene in PVAc were measured at temperatures from 25$^{\circ}C$ to 42$^{\circ}C$ and pressures up to 28.4 torr. The frequency of a quartz crystal microbalance increased with increasing temperature and decreased with an increase in toluene vapor pressure. The resistance of a quartz crystal microbalance increased with increasing toluene vapor pressure and decreased with an increase in temperature. A greater pressure of toluene results in a greater solubility of the toluene into the PVAc film. The change of solubility was calculated by Sauerbrey equation.
