It is anticipated that the status of information education in school will get lower, because the extra-curricular activity is planned ta be changed with creative experience activity in revised education curriculum 2009, which is published by the ministry of education, science and technology. Moreover, the current state of information education in schools cannot actively handle the social changes and requirements but keep the old curriculums. This study explains the effectiveness and the examples of creative personality and fluency using educational robot in creative experience activity. We also tried ta find the probability of robot utilizing education as an expanded information education area in elementary school.

  • Higher grade elementary school students who have superior cognitive abilities need education of basic principles of computer or programming rather than computer in education. In this study, all the errors occurring while elementary school students wrote and executed programs were collected. in the method of predicting and dealing with possible-to-occur problems on programming education of the higher grades (4th, 5th and 6th grades) during their optional special activities or during talent aptitude activities after school, classified by type and analyzed. If the errors analyzed are put to practical use, optimal programming curriculums could be written and such curriculums could be a great contribution to induction of learning effect and interest on teaching learning. It was found by analyzing the errors collected for this study that the most of elementary school students during programming felt difficulties in simple errors by poor use of software and in simple coding by poor use of reserved words in English. In the next, students occurred errors by difficulties in understanding grammar. It was exposed that these error types were the opposite phenomena to those analyzed by commercial software developing companies, however, it is predicted that if teaching learning is setting improved, the same phenomena could be found desirably.

  • The purpose of this paper is to develop and to introduce the rubrics for performance assessment, which can measure elementary school upper graders' ability to use ICT, With a goal of improving their ability to use ICT, the students, who are in the fourth, fifth, six grades, received instructions on the basic skills and knowledge for using the computer during the extracurricular-activity session or the self-directed session after regular classes. In the study, the rubrics were developed on the basis of the 7th national curriculum, and defined respectively assessment criteria and attainment targets for the upper graders. The assessment criteria were set after the researcher determined the most basic and important skills and knowledge that the upper graders should have, and then compared them with the attainment criteria in the national curriculum. Accordingly, the application of the rubrics developed for this study is expected to lessen the burden of elementary school teachers when they implement performance assessment in their classrooms. Finally, using the rubrics, the study assessed elementary school students' ability to use the computer, and showed somewhat limiting but satisfactory results.

  • The purpose of this study is to present a more effective nutrition education activation plan. As a result of investigating the dietary education operating situation, 58.9% underwent direct education, and 89.5% underwent food life education through traditional food culture succeeding business operation. The results from investigating the recognition regarding dietary education are as follows. The activation level by education types was as low as 2.24 points, the necessity was as high as 4.54 points, the difficult point in performing food life education was 'overwork' with 4.43 points, and the teaching activity ability level was 'can effectively prepare a teaching guidance plan' at 2.96 points. As a result of investigating the nutrition consultation operating situations, 62.8% underwent it and all of the students as well as some parents and teachers performed it. The consumed time per consultation for effective nutrition consultation was 10~20 minutes, the required education equipment and data were 'consultation program' with 40.3%, and the important content during consultation was 'contents related to eating habits' with 70.5%, which was recognized as the most important.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate students' and parents' perceptions of nutrition education. In this survey, 7,577 elementary school students and 6,003 of their parents across the country were surveyed about the necessity of implementing nutrition education, its present status and problems and future methods for nutrition education implementation. The results showed that 96.6% of the parents and 62.8% of the students responded that nutrition education was urgently needed, at least once per week in the lower grades of elementary school, and that it should be related to and coordinated with special activities class. In addition, the survey showed that students and their parents wanted nutrition teachers to establish a nutrition counseling room, a practical cooking class, a special activity class, and/or dietary camp during school breaks. With regard to the status of nutrition education at home, there was statistical evidence that suggests significant differences between urban and rural schools. Approximately 63% of the parents indicated that they had difficulty teaching nutrition education in their own homes, because it was difficult to determine the dietary habits and nutritional status of their children. When asked about attending a dietary class for parents, 74% expressed their intent to attend. Parents were most interested in learning about cooking practices, diet therapy, and food information in that order. The results showed that the most effective method of dietary education was to teach appropriate nutritional practices in school and at home simultaneously. Hence, necessary information and education should be provided through special lectures, special cooking classes, and dietary classes for parents. The conclusions of this study suggest that a variety of education programs should be developed to achieve effective nutrition education for students and their parents.
