Positioning of Recreation Forests Using Multidimensional Scaling (다차원척도법(多次元尺度法)을 이용(利用)한 자연휴양림(自然休養林) 포지셔닝)

  • The purposes of this study were to evaluate the present management policy of recreation forest under competitive environment with similar types of recreation areas like national parks and to suggest the effective management strategies, using a multidimensional scaling technique. Data were collected from 1200 residents of Seoul, Pusan, Taegu, Kwangju, and Taejon sampled by two stage cluster sampling method. There were some different perceptions between Seoul residents and the others, but most of the respondents perceived recreation forests as uncrowded natural areas with reasonable use fees. The results suggested the need for developing effective marketing strategies to have distinguishing images from national parks that have competitive.

Strategies to Enhance the Linkage between Retailers and Agricultural Product Wholesale Markets (소매업체와 농산물 도매시장의 연계성 강화 방안 - 청과물을 중심으로 -)

  • This paper analyzes retailers' purchasing patterns of fruits and vegetables and the problems with purchasing from agricultural product wholesale markets. While large-scale retailers purchase fruits and vegetables from various sources, medium and small-scale retailers and food service companies buy them mostly from agricultural product wholesale markets. The retailers point out the problems with purchasing from agricultural product wholesale markets as a lack of quality uniformity, not sufficient cooling storage facilities, not sufficient space for shipping area, high distribution cost, unnecessary price fluctuation, and etc. In order to enhance the linkage with retailers, agricultural product wholesale markets, first of all, have to adopt more flexible trading methods such as private treaty besides auctions which are exclusively legitimate trading methods in the market. Necessary are enlargement of jobbers' operating scale, securing shipping space for retailers, adoption of inspection service, introduction of methods to stabilize auction prices, saving of loading and unloading costs, implementation of marketing strategies.

  • To develop a creative design concept, amount of idea thinking between team members is important. In the process of planning to proposal brainstorming helps clarification of problems and allows a creative solution. Here, idea generation is to express thinking into words, and greater amount of idea is more valued than to choose one fine idea at first. This paper studies actual processes of brainstorming, and we utilize network services upgraded in Web and multimedia techniques to develop idea with arrangement. We compare the amount of idea generation by groups and topics with Brainwriting and Braindrawing of Webstorming, without limitation of space and time. Then, we propose a creative idea thinking by analyzing the characteristics of design team members in various aspects. This result will contribute in improving national potential value and design competitiveness by the help of design and IT, on product research and marketing.

  • Along with the advent of ubiquitous computing environment, it is becoming a part of our common life style that the demands for enjoying the wireless internet using intelligent portable device such as smart phone and iPad, are increasing anytime or anyplace without any restriction of time and place. The recommending service becomes a very important technology which can find exact information to present users, then is easy for customers to reduce their searching effort to find out the items with high purchasability in e-commerce. Traditional mining association rule ignores the difference among the transactions. In order to do that, it is considered the importance of type of merchandise or service and then, we suggest a new recommending service using mining sequential pattern based on weight to reflect frequently changing trends of purchase pattern as time goes by and as often as customers need different merchandises on e-commerce being extremely diverse. To verify improved better performance of proposing system than the previous systems, we carry out the experiments in the same dataset collected in a cosmetic internet shopping mall.

A Study on the Characteristics of Tourism Flow of Independent Tourists from China to South Korea Based on Tourists' Digital Footprint (디지털 여행기록 기반 중국 개별 관광객의 한국 관광경로 특성 분석)

  • This study takes Chinese independent tourists to South Korea as the research object, mines the data of tourists' digital footprints from online travel notes, and analyzes the characteristics of the tourism flow of Chinese independent tourists to South Korea by using the method of quantitative statistics and social network analysis(SNA). The results show that Seoul, Jeju Island, Busan and Daegu are the important tourist destinations for Chinese independent tourists entering South Korea. In addition, Qingdao, Tianjin, Shenyang, Hong Kong, Foshan and Macao are crucial hubs for Chinese independent tourists to visit South Korea. In future studies, the number of sample data should be increased. The time span of data collection should be extended for studying the annual variation characteristics of tourism flow and the trend of tourism hot spots.

  • Due to new social environment, expenditure on eating out has increased over the last few year, thereafter the food-tech industries have steadily grown as well. We have studied what variable would affect customer's choices when they plan to eat out or order in. There are two variables are taken into account to prove it. Firstly, it is climate changes, such as an amount of rainfall, snowfall and clouds. Secondly, it is days, such as seasons and holidays. Based on this, we looked up the SikSin user's behaviors patterns, then did analysis of the daily data provided by the Meteorological office. By the end of the study, it turned out that two variables, climate changes and days, both have a strong influence on customer's choices. It is considered that this research outcome will make contributions to small businesses founders who want to take the initiative, marketing managers and people who are engaged in the food-tech industry.

  • In a situation in which rural areas are declining, local governments are seeking to revitalize areas by place marketing. Place marketing, defined by various efforts to promote the image of a place, has been used as an economic tool. As a result, the image has been over-promoted and marketing has been driven in a perfunctory manner, so individual residents' lives and experiences have been ignored. Thus, in addition to the traditional types of cultural place marketing and economic place marketing, this study established a 'project for rural revitalization of Hwayang-eup' so that it could be applied to political place marketing aimed at inducing internal investment and improving the welfare of local residents. To implement this project, the concept was set up as building network organization, sustainable development and symbiotic relationship, and various H/W and S/W plans were developed. First of all, in terms of political place marketing, the Hwaeyang Oulim Center was constructed to strengthen the capacity of local autonomous organizations. In terms of cultural place marketing, we explored cultural resources at the village level and created a small community space. In terms of economic place marketing, the landscape around the main street and the township was reorganized to create a cultural business space for urban and rural exchanges. The reinterpretation of place marketing seen through this project was first, it was more process-oriented than results, second, it was important to induce the community-participating village-making project, and finally, the role of experts was important to expand the community movement.

The effect of Brand Association in Public Libraries on Customer Satisfaction and Loyalty in Public Libraries - Focused on the 20s (공공도서관의 브랜드 연상 요인이 20대의 고객 만족 및 충성도에 미치는 영향)

  • Public libraries have been facing new challenges as the number of channels providing information resources has been increasing due to information and communication technology development. The perception of public libraries of the general public is that they should continue to play a substantial role in information services. However, the libraries' environments are changing, and the public's needs are diversifying, so public libraries also need to differentiate themselves from other organizations that provide similar services. This paper proposes branding as a solution to create differentiation. The study conducted a questionnaire survey with Koreans in their 20s. A series of statistical tests with the survey data showed the impact of the brand association elements on customer satisfaction and brand loyalty and identified unique factors in public libraries. For example, Brand associations such as material-based services, benefits, and attitude affected both dependent variables. On the other hand, the non-product association such as space/place images did not. Based on these findings, we provided implications for introducing branding in public libraries.

Problems and Directions for Improving Transportation Cards Exclusively for Foreigners in the Metropolitan Area (수도권 외국인 전용 교통카드 문제점과 개선 방향)

  • The use rate of M-pass(transportation card for foreigners),developed and sold to provide convenience to foreign tourists, was only 0.0051 % of visitors to Seoul over the past five years. Even this poor sales fell to the 0.024 % level in 2020 due to COVID-19. The cause of the sluggish performance was that the Ministry of land, Transport and Maritime Affairs and the card issuer excluded transportation operating organizations, and problems such as poor public relation, irrationality in pricing, and limitied number of sales locations appeared. In order to solve this problem, the research result showed that business strategies such as the establishment of a digital marketing system, realistic pricing, and the establishment of a mobile sales system that fit the trend, as well as the development of new product that reflect the participation and opinions of all related organizations are necessary. It is expected that this study will not only provide convenience to foreign Seoul tourist in the age of Post Corona, but also help improve the management of subway operating organizations.

The Effect of Package Gloss on Purchase Intention: Mediating Role of Perceived Corporate Eco-friendliness and Perceived Quality (패키지 광택이 제품 구매의도에 미치는 영향: 기업 친환경성 인식과 품질인식의 매개효과를 중심으로)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effects of the gloss of a product's packaging on purchase intention and the mediating role of perceived corporate eco-friendliness and perceived quality in food area. The participants were randomly assigned to product package condition (glossy vs. matte) and after observing ketchup and potato chips, they responded to questions on about perceived corporate eco-friendliness, perceived quality, and purchase intention. The participants reported their opinion that companies that manufactured matte package products would likely use more organic ingredients and would be more eco-friendly than companies that manufactured glossy package products. The more the participants perceived a company to be eco-friendly, the better they evaluated the company's product quality and the higher their purchase intention. This study has theoretical and practical implications, in that it extends the study of the product package in relation to its effect on corporate image, and it proposes a practical use of matte product package for improving the eco-friendly image of the company. Limitations and further research were also discussed.
