A Study on the Relationship Between the Self-efficacy on the Information Literacy and the Level of Academic Achievement (정보활용능력에 대한 자기효능감과 학업성취도간 상관관계 연구)

  • Information literacy of the individuals affects their competitive capability significantly by providing problem solving skills in the short run, and by enabling life-long learning in the long run. This study examines if information literacy capacity has any relationship with individuals' achievement level through the experiment with college student subject group. As evidences for individual achievement level, we adopted GPA's(grade point average) of students. As a result, it was confirmed that information literacy and academic achievements has positive relationship. Additionally, it has been found that this relationship has a tendency of sustaining for a significant period. These experiment results would serve as a rationale for providing information literacy courses in the academic curriculum.

  • This study is to suggest strategies of specialty contractors that provide labors oriented engineering service by interaction analysis between construction business indicators and business performance indicators. For specialty contractors that mainly provides labor oriented engineering service, the amount of construction orders imposes lasting impact to the turnover ratio of current assets supposedly because they are operating current assets to secure labor. In other words, this type of specialty contractors are focused on mobilization of labor not materials or equipment. So, it is determined that they will be able to increase revenue by operating current assets to address current liabilities and labor mobilization.

  • This study is to suggest specialty contractors with countermeasures to construction orders falling off, one of the construction business indicators for the construction industry, by analyzing the impact of dwindling construction orders to business performance indicators of specialty contractors as well as identifying inter-relationships between those performance indicators. To do this study, a data was analyze for construction business indicators and business performance indicators of specialty contractors providing heavy equipment. For specialty contractors that provide and utilize heavy equipment, the amount of construction orders is imposing a lasting impact to the turnover ratio of current assets. Therefore, it is determined that a business strategy needs to be established in order to secure current assets to respond to decrease in construction orders.

  • As industrial software domain is recognizing with one of areas producing high added values, almost software company is running around in securing skilled workers. However, the hiring of software engineers without the consideration of long-term business goals can be caused the lack of manpower again. Also if there is no strategic workforce management plan, it is impossible to gain high performance despite many software engineers have been employed. One of ways to empower the software development capability, this paper identifies the software job functions in detail and proposes how to define the competency profile for the job function. We also propose the career path management scheme using the profile. The proposed workforce management approach which is based on the competency profile, enables to keep the appropriate size of human resources, and to achieve the business performance of software organization.

  • At local emerging stock markets such as Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan, foreign investors (FI) are recognized as important investment community due to the globalization and deregulation of financial markets. Therefore, it is required to monitor the behavior of FI against a sudden enormous selling stocks for the concerned local governments or private and institutional investors. The main aim of this study is to propose an early warning system (EWS) which purposes issuing a warning signal against the possible massive selling stocks of FI at the market. For this, we suggest machine learning algorithm which predicts the behavior of FI by forecasting future conditions. This study is empirically done for the Korean stock market.

  • For continuous and successful innovation, changes in innovation system are required and have been magnified as a new controversy. With high public interest in changes of innovation system, Transition theory and policy in Netherlands are now attracting attentions of many researchers and policymakers. Transition policy in Netherlands is distinguished from existing policies for fundamental system change in that take remarkably different views and methods. Typical examples of transition in Netherlands are such as sustainable energy transition, biodiversity and natural resource transition, sustainable agriculture transition, and sustainable transportation. Transitions in Netherlands are still in the early stage of it but several positive effects are witnessing. However some problems - linking theory and practice, ambiguity of transition concept, linking long-term vision and short-term, resistance of existing regime, implementation problem, diffusion of support, etc.- to be tackled are still remaining. In spite of those problems, many lessons can be drawn from them. To guide structural changes in innovation system into the right path and cope with lock-in problem by existing system and regime, we need to learn from Transition theory and policy in Netherlands.

Analysis of the Effectiveness of KOREATECH IPP Program: Focusing on the Main Operation of 2013 (한국기술교육대학교 장기현장실습 프로그램의 효과성 분석 : 2013년 본 사업 대상)

  • KOREATECH has introduced a long-term co-op program called IPP (Industry Professional Practice) to address problems in engineering education of Korea since 2012. In order to evaluate and improve the IPP program, the IPP Center of KOREATECH has developed a comprehensive performance evaluation scheme on the basis of the Kirkpatrick's four stage performance evaluation model for training programs. This study aimed to analyze student questionnaire survey data from the IPP performance evaluation scheme, which was acquired before and after IPP terms in 2013 and measured students' perceptions on the five aspects of major competencies, non-major competencies, perception of and satisfaction with the IPP program and attitudes to occupation. The findings showed that the IPP program was effective to a certain degree at enhancing non-major competencies and attitudes to occupation of students. Participating students were quite satisfied with their jobs and companies. In the last part, several directions for improving the effectiveness of the IPP program were discussed.

A Study on Establishing Forest Landscape Management Plan (산림경관계획 수립방안에 관한 연구)

  • Landscape planning system established in 2007. It is necessary that forest landscape management will be established based on the long-term and wide scope plan for forest management. This study suggested the considering factor while the establishing forest landscape plan for forest characteristics. Forest landscape type was consisted of 4 medium classification(geographical resources, waterscape, forest resources, cultural resources) and 12 small classification(geographical resources: panorama of ridge, ridge of curious rock peaks, waterscape: waterfall, valley, lake, forest resources: crown layer scenery, royal azaleas of main ridge, autumnal tints of ridge slope, flowers in herbaceous plants, inside of forest, forest trail scenery, cultural resources: facilities). This study suggested that consideration on 6 functions of forest in landscape zone planning and forest landscape management plan each classification (main ridge, sense of season, waterscape, rock resources).

  • This study attempted to investigate the impact of relational characteristics just like level of perceived communication, support, conflict and justice between optical franchisor and franchisees on relational performance. Data collected from A Optical Franchisees supported two hypotheses such as communication and relational satisfaction, relational satisfaction and long-term commitment that were proposed. Another result between justice and relational satisfaction in this study shows that the other research and interpretation for this phenomenon was attempted. In accordance with the results, the following conclusion was made: it is very important to communicate with franchisor, and the core mean for that would be the enhancement of the long-term commitment of franchisees through the perceived relational satisfaction of franchisee's in optical franchise system. To accomplish this, to understand characteristics of franchisor and franchisees and fit of their characteristics should be preceded.

  • A company or organization introduces various management techniques and systems to achieve performance in a situation where it does not provide or fails to provide motivating factors such as the provision of parts required or required by employees to achieve desired results. It puts a burden on the employees mentally and physically. If this situation continues for a long time, it can be called job burnout. Job burnout is due to long-term exposure to increase in production based on new management techniques and new technologies implemented by companies or organizations for survival and to achieve excessive work demands through overtime and holiday work to achieve this. It is defined as a state of emotional and mental exhaustion. Therefore, this study investigated how mental and work-related bullying affects job burnout and job commitment, and how they affect turnover intention. As a result, workplace bullying has a positive effect on job burnout and has a direct effect on turnover intention. Therefore, in the case of dental clinics, it is judged that a lot of effort should be put into workplace bullying and job burnout in order to prevent the turnover of excellent talents.
